Project: learn how to use a dictionary.
After today’s learning, Ms Gao asked the students to read a short passage about how to behave when we meet someone for the first time.
Good manners are important when you meet someone for the first time because they help create a positive connection. Start with a polite greeting, like “Hello, I’m... Nice to meet you.” This shows friendliness and makes the conversation start off well. Then, briefly introduce yourself so the other person knows a bit about you. Be an active listener and ask simple questions like “How are you?” or “What do you think of this event?” This shows you’re interested and keeps the conversation going. Also, remember to smile and make eye contact, as these make you seem warm and trustworthy. Using these basic manners will help build strong relationships.
But some words seem difficult for students and make the passage hard to understand. How can they get to know about the meaning of these words?
