Paris is a beautiful city and it’s my dream to visit it. Luckily, my mom took me there last Friday. We visited Eiffel Tower the next day. We arrived early to get the tickets. It was so exciting to see the tower. But later the guide told us some bad news. Because of strong winds, the top level of the tower was closed. Our trip could not go on. I was so disappointed. My mom said, “Let’s just walk along the Seine River.” Along the way, we saw many boats on the river. Soon I felt hungry, so we bought some sandwiches in a restaurant. Then we sat by the river and enjoyed sandwiches. As the sun began to set, the sky turned pink. We enjoyed the beautiful view. It wasn’t the trip we planned, but it became a more peaceful evening. I learned that sometimes surprises would bring best memories.

It was getting dark, and Dad hadn’t come home yet. He spent all day cleaning pools.
Dad once told me cleaning pools felt like doing magic. It was like being a magician, turning the water from cloudy to clear. Recently, though, it didn’t seem like Dad saw a lot of magic anywhere. One day, he came home and told us he had lost many customers because of the economic (经济上的) downturn. I could tell he was worried when he came home each night.
Yesterday, my brother and I were playing basketball. Then, Dad’s old car arrived. It was earlier than usual.
“Hey, guys!” Dad said as he got out. He couldn’t hide the worry in his eyes.
“Want to shoot a few hoops, Dad?” I asked, knowing how much he loved basketball and thinking maybe it might cheer him up.
“Sure,” he said, opening his eyes and smiling a weary (疲惫的) smile.
My brother passed the ball to him, and Dad caught it. He threw the ball toward the basket. It looked funny. Each time he held the ball in both hands between his knees, bent his legs slightly, and looked up at the basket. It looked like he was a chicken getting ready to lay an egg. Then he swung (摆动) the ball forward and back before dropping straight into the basket. “Whoa, what a shot (投篮)!” Dad said. He did a little victory dance, and smiled in a way that I hadn’t seen in a long time.
It was nice to see Dad smiling again, as if the time he spent shooting baskets with us brought back his ability to laugh a little. When he was happy, it felt like everything fit into place.

Peking Opera is also known as Beijing Opera. It came into being after 1790 when the famous four Anhui opera troupes (戏班) came to Beijing. Its music and singing come from Xipi and Er-huang in Anhui and Hubei. Its costumes are all fascinating and artistic. It is one of the highest expressions of Chinese culture. It’s full of famous stories, beautiful facial paintings, and wonderful gestures and fighting.
There are four main roles in Peking Opera: Sheng, Dan, Jing and Chou. Sheng is the leading male actor: a Wusheng is a soldier or fighter, a Xiaosheng is a young man, and a Laosheng is an old man. Dan is the female role. Jing, mostly men, is the face-painted role and Chou is the comedy actor or clown (小丑).
When people think of Peking Opera, they often imagine an older person sitting on a chair, holding a fan, drinking tea, and enjoying the music of Peking Opera. As China develops, young people take pride in their traditional culture, and they feel responsible for passing on this special art form.
Most Peking Opera performances are based on historic events and folk stories from China. They also include many traditional Chinese values. Peking Opera is loved by people all over the world for these special qualities.
To make young people more interested in traditional art forms, Chinese government has made great efforts to promote (促进) Peking Opera and other traditional arts. In recent years, Peking Opera, along with other traditional arts, has been introduced into classrooms as a way to teach and protect traditional Chinese culture. Besides, with the help of modern technology, theaters have also found new methods to push the development of Peking Opera. With this in mind, the future of Peking Opera looks bright.

①Do you ever wonder if we’ll use gene editing (基因编辑) to grow wings? Or upload our brains to the cloud one day? If you love science and engineering, science fiction (sci-fi) is where you go to imagine these answers. __________________
②There are two common ways people misread sci-fi. The first one is called the Torment Nexus Problem. It started in a 2021 tweet (推文). This happens when people focus only on the futuristic tech in a sci-fi story—even though in the original story, this tech is the reason people suffer rather than the story’s actual point. They ignore the real message of the story.
③For example, billionaire Peter Thiel started a company named Palantir, named after the fantasy tech of the “seeing stones” in The Lord of the Rings that drives their users to evil and madness. Palantir’s products were later used in air attacks in Gaza. The author J.R.R. Tolkien would not be happy about this.
④The second mistake is the Blueprint Problem. People wrongly think sci-fi gives an exact plan for the future. They believe if we copy what happens in sci-fi, we’ll get a perfect, amazing future.
⑤The Blueprint Problem inspired a lot of early space programmes in the 1950s, which chose to send humans into space, instead of exploring space with robots. Over the past century, we were told AI would be our obedient (听话的) servants and super smart experts. So people thought robot police and hologram doctors (全息医生) would surely come true — but they won’t, not like that.
⑥Science fiction isn’t a map or a set of rules we have to follow. Instead, it’s a world view, a way of approaching problems with possible assumption (假设) that things don’t have to be the way they are. The future isn’t fixed. It’s something we build, step by step, with our own choices.
27.Which sentence can be put into the blank ______?
A.Sci-fi stories always bring wrong influences on real scientific research.
B.Many sci-fi writers describe unrealistic future scenes in their works.
C.But there’s a problem: many people get the wrong ideas from these stories about the future.
D.The development of real technology is completely different from sci-fi.
28.What can be inferred from the example of Palantir?
A.J. R. R. Tolkien hated the company Palantir deeply.
B.People often misunderstand the symbolic meaning of sci-fi tech.
C.Futuristic tech in sci-fi always leads to bad results in real life.
D.Peter Thiel didn’t read The Lord of the Rings carefully.
29.What is the “Blueprint Problem” as described in paragraph 4?
A.Having robots take over human jobs.
B.Viewing sci-fi as a perfect future model.
C.Expecting authors to engineer real tech.
D.Supporting robots over astronauts in space.
30.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
【答案】27.C 28.B 29.B 30.D
【解析】本文是一篇议论文,主要介绍人们对科幻小说的两种误读,阐明科幻小说的真正意义。
27.第一段引出科幻小说,第二段首句点明人们误读科幻小说,空白处需承上启下,C项“But there’s a problem: many people get the wrong ideas from these stories about the future.”
People wrongly think sci-fi gives an exact plan for the future.”:说明人们错误认为科幻给出了未来的精确计划,即把科幻当作完美的未来范本。
30.①引入话题:用畅想引出科幻小说,②③④⑤讲两种误读问题及案例,⑥点明真正含义:科幻不是规则,是世界观与思考方式。

Have you noticed more and more teenagers are crazy about those cool, high-tech shoes lately? They’re called carbon-plated (碳板材质的) shoes, and with their sporty look and promise of faster speed, they’ve quickly become popular. People believe that the shoes are fine if used properly. However, some people worry that wearing the shoes may hurt teens’ growing feet. 31 The following are the different opinions of two students.
Tom: Carbon-plated shoes can be worn in daily life.
I think carbon-plated shoes can be part of our clothes collection, but we need to be smart about them. 32 If we wear them for running in PE class, they can even help us run faster. Besides, their thick bottoms are comfortable for short walks as well. So as long as we wear them wisely, carbon-plated shoes are totally fit for daily life.
Lily: 33
Carbon-plated shoes will bring health risks to teens’ growing feet. Their main purpose is for serious running races, not for walking around school all day. The hard carbon plate inside doesn’t bend (弯曲) like our feet naturally when we walk. Doctors have found many kids suffer foot pain or harm because of these shoes. We can choose other soft, comfortable running shoes instead. 34
A.Who can wear carbon-plated shoes in everyday life?
B.Teens should avoid wearing carbon-plated shoes daily.
C.It’s okay to wear them in certain situations for short periods.
D.Should teenagers wear carbon-plated shoes in everyday life?

19.What problem did Dad meet recently?
A.His old car broke down. B.He lost interest in cleaning pools.
C.His business was not doing well. D.He couldn’t improve cleaning skills.

C.It’s better not to share worries with family.
D.True happiness comes from doing sports.

23.What can you infer from Paragraph 1?
A.Peking Opera wins the hearts of many foreigners. B.Peking Opera performances come from historic events.
C.Peking Opera is full of wonderful gestures and fightings. D.Peking Opera plays a great role in showing Chinese culture.
24.Which role is usually played by women?
A.Sheng. B.Dan. C.Jing. D.Chou.

A.To picture the performers in Peking Opera.
B.To picture what old people do in their daily life.
C.To show the historical background of Peking Opera.
D.To show how much old people love Peking Opera.
26.What does the last paragraph mainly talk about?

C.The use of modern technology in Peking Opera.

A. B.
C. D.
第二节 任务型阅读(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)

E.That’s why I’m strongly against wearing them in our daily life.

The Most Meaningful Object to Me
The most meaningful object to me is a small silver medal. I won it in a school running competition last year.
At first, I was afraid of joining because I thought I might fail. But my teacher encouraged me to try my best. Finally, I got the second prize!
This medal is not just a prize. It reminds me that hard work brings good results. Whenever I face difficulties, I look at it and feel brave. It teaches me the importance of never giving up. To me, it is more valuable than anything else.

B.Family care can cheer up people in trouble.
C.It’s better not to share worries with family.
D.True happiness comes from doing sports.

A. B.
C. D.

E.That’s why I’m strongly against wearing them in our daily life.
