Dear Peter,
I’m glad to hear that you’re coming to Hainan this summer holiday. I know you are interested in Chinese traditional culture, so I’d like to introduce Li brocade to you.
Li brocade is a famous intangible cultural heritage of Hainan. It has a long history and is the traditional art of the Li ethnic group. I love it most because its colorful patterns of plants and animals are so lively. They carry the Li people’s deep love for nature and their beautiful life.
When you come, you can visit Hainan Museum to see wonderful works. You can also try making a small piece yourself in a Li village. I’m sure you will have a great time here.
Yours,
Li Hua

21.The ceremony ________ in the school hall.
A.held B.was held C.was holding
22.I often hear ______ my sister in America.
A.from B.of C.about
【答案】22.A
of属于……的;from来自;about关于。
23.Many people think eating at home is ________ than eating in the restaurant.
A.healthy B.healthier C.healthiest
24.We should try ________ best to help the people in need.
A.us B.we C.our
our我们的;we我们;us我们。try one’s best to do sth“尽某人最大努力做某事”,是固定短语,主语是We,所以其中“one’s”需用our代替修饰名词“best”。故选C。
25.—Do you know the girl ________ is talking with our teacher?
—Yes, she’s my cousin.
A.who B.which C.whose
【答案】25.A
故选A。
26.________ our science project better, we added small lights to the model.
A.Make B.Making C.To make

27.________ the stage is small, it is a big chance to show yourself.
A.Because B.Although C.If
根据“…the stage is small, it is a big chance to show yourself.”
28.________beautiful the park is! We all want to stay here for another hour.
A.What B.How C.What a
根据“...beautiful the park is!”
29.—Is Mike coming to the fashion show tomorrow?
—I’m not sure. He ________ not come.
A.must B.can C.may

A.won’t B.don’ t C.aren’t
【答案】30.A
问句使用“Will most people live...”,是一般将来时的一般疑问句,其否定回答应用“No, they won’t.”。故选A。
The Guardian of the Rainforest
Wei Fuliang is a forest ranger (守护者) in Bawangling, Hainan. His daily life begins when the rest of the village is still 31 . At 5 a. m., he starts his motorcycle and rides into the mountains. This is not just a job; it’s a promise passed down through three 32 of his family.
The work is tiring. He walks for hours on difficult paths, 33 for any sign of the world’s rarest primate, the Hainan gibbon (长臂猿). Why does he do it? “When I hear the gibbons call, I feel I’m home,” he says. For him, their voices are the 34 sound in the forest.
His main task is to protect these animals. He watches their families, notes their health, and keeps their home safe. The forest is quiet, and changes come 35 . But Wei never loses heart. 36 , his work, together with that of many others, is bringing hope. The number of gibbon families has slowly increased 37 3 in 2015 to 7 in 2024. Each new baby gibbon is a 38 for the whole team.
The forest is 39 Wei Fuliang truly belongs. His story shows us that protecting nature is a long journey. It asks for patience, love, and, above all, a simple 40 to do the right thing, day after day.
31.A.asleep B.noisy C.prepared
32.A.generations B.jobs C.groups
33.A.paying B.searching C.asking
34.A.strangest B.loudest C.most beautiful
35.A.quickly B.suddenly C.slowly
36.A.In the end B.In fact C.For example
37.A.at B.from C.with
38.A.celebration B.memory C.test
39.A.how B.where C.when
40.A.step B.order C.choice
31-40 AABCC BBABC

Nowadays, there is more and more rubbish in the sea. And the sea environment is seriously polluted. Common ways of cleaning sea rubbish have high costs, and they may hurt fish. These problems can be successfully solved by a sea rubbish cleaning robot called Sea Sweeper 1000. It looks like a lantern fish from the outside.
The robot fish was invented by a little inventor named Lainey and an artist named Lottie Smith. Inside, it has two “stomachs”. They are used to store, recycle and burn rubbish.
The left stomach will be used to burn down rubbish and create energy for the robot to keep running. And the things left after burning will be divided into small parts, and then placed into the bags on the robot’s back. And the right stomach can store rubbish that can be recycled. When it gets full, rubbish will be placed in the bag in the robot’s tail. Once the bag is full, the robot will come back.
The lantern above the robot’s head has a sensor (传感器) and a camera. The sensor helps avoid taking in fish. But if the robot does take in small fish, don’t worry. The space between its teeth is big enough for them to swim out. And the camera can send back photos to its user when there is rubbish. Then the user can know if the rubbish should be recycled or burned.
Although there are still some parts that need to be improved, with the robot’s help, we can protect the sea environment and create a better future for human beings.
51.What does Sea Sweeper 1000 look like?
A.A lantern fish. B.A paper box. C.A cloth bag.
52.What does the underlined word “They” refer to (指的是) in Paragraph 2?
A.The inventors. B.Two stomachs. C.The photos.
53.In which part will the rubbish be placed when the right stomach gets full?

54.What’s Paragraph ④ mainly about?
A.How the sensor and the camera work.
B.Where the small fish and the robot swim.
C.Why the user recycles or burns the rubbish.
55.What’s the purpose of the text?
A.To teach us how to invent robots.
B.To advise people to buy a new kind of robot.
C.To show how a robot protects the environment.

There are lots of natural disasters every year. 56
Typhoons (台风) are some of the worst storms, usually around the Pacific Ocean (太平洋) and the South China Sea. Most happen in July, August and September.
How does a typhoon happen? When lots of sea water gets hot in the summer sun, it evaporates (蒸发) into the air. This makes the air hotter. 57 Then cooler air around it rushes in. It fills the space that is left. After the air gets warmer, it starts to move quickly, making wind. The wind goes in circles and it keeps moving higher in the sky. The warmer the air gets, the quicker the wind moves. And when wind moves faster than 30 metres a second, a typhoon begins.
A typhoon has two parts. One is called the “eye”. 58 The other part is the wall of clouds around the eye. Here are the strongest winds and hardest rains.
Typhoons are very dangerous. In November in 2013, Typhoon Haiyan killed 6,000 people in Philippines. 59
What should we do when a typhoon hits?
*Stay inside. 60
*Try to bring all of your things inside. Strong winds could even blow away your bikes!
*Listen to the radio or TV or search on the Internet for important information.
*If you’re told to go to a safer place, do it right now.
A.More people were hurt and some others were missing.
B.Close all the windows and stay away from them.
C.Typhoons are among them.
D.For example, strong winds cause many problems.
E.In the eye, the wind does not move so fast.
F.When the air gets warm enough, it starts to move high up into sky.

Eileen Gu’s “Mindset (思维) Secret” Behind Her Milan Gold
Eileen Gu, the freeski champion, won hearts again at the Milan Winter Olympics, not just with her gold medal but with her powerful mindset. Many wonder what her secret is. It’s not only about physical training; it’s about how she thinks.
Gu sees pressure as a friend, not an enemy. Before her final run in the halfpipe (半管状雪道), the weather turned very bad. While others were nervous, she felt excited. “Pressure is a privilege (荣幸). It means people believe in you,” she once said. This belief helped her turn a challenge into a brilliant performance.
Another key is her “growth mindset”. She doesn’t fear failure. In fact, she thinks every fall on the snow is a lesson. After not doing well in an earlier competition this season, she studied her videos carefully, learned from the mistakes, and came back stronger in Milan. For her, the journey of improving is more important than any single victory.
Besides sports, Gu is also a top student and a fashion icon. How does she manage all these? The secret is balance and passion. She focuses completely on skiing when training, and then switches her full attention to her studies or other projects. She believes that doing different things she loves actually makes her better in each area. Her life shows that with good time management, you can have more than one dream.

A.Part a. B.Part b. C.Part c.

Eileen Gu’s story is a powerful lesson. It tells us that a strong mind, the courage to learn from setbacks, and the ability to balance your passions are the real keys to unlocking your potential, no matter what you dream to achieve.
