2025 is a breakout year for AI. It is changing how we live in every way. For example, there is an AI restaurant in Shanghai. Let’s see what it is like.
The AI restaurant, located in the Hongqiao Area, covers about 130 square meters. It can serve about 300 people every day, most of whom are old people living nearby or office workers in the area.
At the restaurant, people need to order food on a screen. For those who are not sure what to eat, the restaurant’s robots can give advice. Then the robots cook the dishes according to the order. They can make different kinds of Chinese dishes like gongbao chicken and mapo tofu. What’s more, the robots can control the temperature for dine-in or take-away food to keep the dishes warm. At the self-service area, people simply need to place their dishes on a smart cash desk and the robots will tell them the price of the meal. People can pay in different ways, like using bank cards or QR codes (二维码). The prices of the food at the AI restaurant are pretty low. Every meat dish costs only 8 yuan while every vegetable dish costs only 3.5 yuan.
“The meals cooked by robots taste as good as those cooked by humans. It is cheap and convenient (方便的) for us to eat in the AI restaurant,” said an old man.
Would you like to have a meal in such a smart restaurant? How could AI help people next? Let’s wait and see.
29. The AI restaurant is an example to show ________.
A. how popular it is in Shanghai
B. the big difference AI makes to our life
C. what special features an AI restaurant owns
D. how advanced the AI technology in Shanghai is
30. People choose this restaurant most probably because ________.
A. they are attracted by its high-tech atmosphere
B. they prefer the strange dining environment it provides
C. they are interested in experiencing the service by robots
D. they enjoy its nice food with low prices and convenient service

A. AI has little long-term value B. AI may take the place of humans
C. AI’s future is full of uncertainties D. AI will be more helpful to people

China is making efforts to help people manage their weight and lead healthier lives. The government has started a three-year “Weight Management Year” program from 2024 to 2027 to fight against obesity, which can lead to serious health illnesses. Here’s what you should know about the latest instructions.
Firstly, it is necessary to check your BMI (Body Mass Index). For adults, a healthy BMI is from 18.5 to 24. If your BMI is between 24 and 28, you are overweight; a BMI of 28 or higher is considered as obesity. Moreover, you need to know the size of your waist: men should keep it under 90 cm, and women under 85 cm.
Eating right is important, and exercise matters just as much! When it comes to diet, choose whole grains like brown rice, fresh vegetables, and high-protein foods such as fish, chicken, or beans. Keep away from fried foods and high-sugar snacks, and also reduce your salt and oil intake. To our surprise, the instructions even include some local dishes—like the “strewed fish” from Northeast China or the “noodles with pepper oil” from the Northwest.
When it comes to exercise, you are advised to do sports like walking, cycling or dancing for 150-300 minutes each week, plus strength exercises twice a week. If you find yourself sitting for a few hours while studying, make sure to stand up and stretch for 3-5 minutes every hour.
In addition to diet and exercise, small daily habits can also help. Teens should get 7 hours of sleep nightly, as poor sleep can increase weight, too. Try eating vegetables first, then meat, and finally rice or bread during meals to control the amount of food.
Schools and hospitals are also giving a helping hand. For example, schools across the country are encouraged to provide at least a P. E. class a day. Hospitals have set up special “weight management clinics”, where doctors provide personalized diet and exercise plans. By 2030, China hopes to slow down the growth of obesity through education and support.
Remember, losing weight isn’t about going for perfection—only start with small changes, like drinking water instead of other drinks or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. With these small steps, everyone can build a healthier future!
The word “obesity” means a condition of being too fat.
The word “waist” means the middle part of the human body.
32. If a man’s BMI is 30, he ________.
A. is in good health B. needs to lose some weight
C. has a perfect body shape D. must go to hospital
33. What can we infer from the text about the relationship between sleep and weight?
A. Longer sleep always leads to weight loss.
B. Sleep has nothing to do with weight.
C. Adults need less sleep than teens to control their weight.
D. Enough sleep helps teens keep a healthy weight.
34. Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage? (①= Paragraph 1 ②= Paragraph 2, …)
A. B. C. D.
35. What is the best title for this passage?
A. The Importance of Eating Right B. Disadvantages of Obesity
C. Chinese Healthy Lifestyle D. China’s Weight Management Instructions

阅读短文,回答短文后的五个问题。(注:每题答案不超过6个词。)
How can I become a better person? This question has been in my head for long. As students, we spend most of our time studying. I know learning at school, of course, makes us better persons, but I always dream of doing more.
Last year, I got to know a group of autistic (患自闭症的) children. We called them “the Snails (蜗牛)”. It was hard to communicate with them at first, because they wouldn’t like to. After a two-week training, I became more skilled. I got closer to them day by day. To my surprise, I found that every one of “the Snails” had his or her own talent. And their colorful pictures on the wall attracted my special attention, though it was difficult to tell what they were trying to express.
Moved by their pictures, I decided to hold a charity (慈善) sale. We walked on the busy street, selling their creative pictures. We sold 60 pictures that day. People thought their pictures were full of imagination.
Back to the question about how to become a better person, I think I am lucky enough to get my own answer.
