Dear Editor,
Some of my classmates are under a lot of pressure. My classmates and I are going to be Grade 9 students. Some of my classmates often face problems. For example, too much homework makes them tired. And they sometimes feel nervous before having exams.
Here’s my advice:
• Plan study time to finish homework earlier.
• Share feelings with parents or teachers.
I hope we all remember:it’s normal to have problems and worries. But it’s important to ask for help. We can ask for help from the people around us:our parents, our teachers. We can always help each other too. When we face problems together, growing up becomes easier.
Those are my opinions. Hope to hear from you!
Yours,
Li Hua

Today, I want to take you to a magical place in China. It is called Jiuzhaigou. It is in the heart of Sichuan Province. Jiuzhaigou means Nine Village Valley. It is like a real-life fairyland (仙境). Visitors from all over the world are interested in its natural beauty, and I am one of them.
Last summer vacation, I went there with my parents. We took a long walk along the lakeside small roads, breathed the fresh mountain air, and even tried to take photos of the lovely wild birds that flew over the water.

There is a beautiful Chinese story about this place. People say a fairy dropped her magic mirror from the sky. The mirror turned into 108 pieces. Do you laugh every day? Most people do. Scientists say that people laugh about 17 times a day on average. That is lots of laughter (笑).
In India, there are hundreds of laughter clubs. They aren’t a place for people to watch interesting shows. They’re a place for people to practice laughing. People get together every morning. First, they put their hands on their heads. Then they pretend to laugh. But after a short time, everyone is laughing naturally. They say they feel good after laughing together.
Scientists believe that laughter is good for us. Why do they think so? For one thing, laughter is good exercise. When we laugh, we exercise many muscles (肌肉) in our body. Scientists say that one hundred laughs is the same as ten minutes of running. For another, when we laugh, we also breathe deeply. This helps us relax. That’s good for us, too.
Why do we laugh? That’s a hard question to answer. We know that people laugh more often in a group. They don’t laugh very often when there is no one with them. Many scientists believe that we use laughter to connect with other people. Laughter helps us feel part of a group.
Some people even say that laughter is the best medicine. If a man is ill, laughter can help him get well. What do you think?
( ) 68. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By giving advice. B. By telling stories.

C. To show kindness. D. To have a good feeling.
( ) 72. What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To tell us how to laugh.
B. To tell us laugh is good for us.
