B项“What are you busy doing these days?” E项“Hope you get good results in the competition.” D项“How are you going to become an inventor?” A项“I’m going to read more articles about science and technology.” C项“I believe you will realize your dream.” I’ll try my best.” —Would you please not laugh so loudly in ________ public? —Sorry. I will remember to laugh in ________ lower voice. A. the; a B. /; a C. the; the D. /; / 【答案】B 【解析】 【详解】句意:——你可以不要在公共场合笑得那么大声好吗?——抱歉。 B。 27. —Excuse me, madam. But you’re ________ my way. —Sorry. I ________ notice you were here. A. by; didn’t B. in; didn’t C. on; don’t D. in; don’t 【答案】B 【解析】 【分析】 【详解】句意:——打扰一下,女士。 B。 28. It’s kind ________ him ________ blood to people in need. A. of; to donate B. of; donate C. for; to donate D. for, donate 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】句意:他给需要帮助的人献血真是太善良了。 此处是固定句型“It’s+adj.+of/for+sb.+to do sth.”。 29. Jack is ________ funny ________ make us happy after class. A. so; that B. too; to C. /; enough to D. enough; to 【答案】C 【解析】 【详解】句意:Jack足够有趣,能在课后逗我们开心。 so…that如此……以至于……;too…to太…… C。 30. We’d better ________ a room ________ these people to stay in. A. to provide; with B. provide; with C. to provide; for D. provide; for 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】句意:我们最好为这些人提供一个房间住。 A、C;provide sth. for sb. 句中a room是物,these people是人,物在人前,应用provide sth. for sb. 31. Do you have any trouble ________ to people ________ intellectual disabilities? A. talking; with B. to talk; with C. talking; have D. to talk; have 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】句意:你和患有智力障碍的人交谈有困难吗? have trouble (in) doing sth. 32. —Do you often play computer games? —I used to. But I have ________ because it takes too much time. A. given it away B. given away it C. given up it D. given it up 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】句意:——你经常玩电脑游戏吗?——我过去经常玩。 give away赠送;give up放弃。根据“because it takes too much time”可知,玩电脑游戏太浪费时间,所以是放弃了,give up是动副短语,代词作宾语时,要放在中间,所以此处应用given it up。 33. —Hi, Tony, where is your car? You didn’t drive it here, did you? —No. There is something wrong with it. I’ll have to wait until it ________. A. is repaired B. will be repaired C. repairs D. is repairing 【答案】A 【解析】 【详解】句意:——嗨,托尼,你的车在哪里? 应填is repaired。 34. Hard work can bring you _________, but if you are lazy, you won’t become _________. C。 35. — I’ll try harder next time. —You have said it one hundred times. But ______________. A. the early bird catches the worm. B. a friend in need is a friend indeed. C. you can’t burn the candle at both ends D. actions speak louder than words 【答案】D 【解析】 【详解】句意:——我下次会更加努力的。 the early bird catches the worm早起的鸟儿有虫吃;a friend in need is a friend indeed患难见真情; you can’t burn the candle at both ends. You have said it one hundred times. Jiang Yuyan, a young Chinese swimmer, has achieved amazing results in sports history at the 2024 Paralympic Games. How should it look? The robot should have arms to be able to lift things. And if it is going to communicate with people, it will also need a face. Scientists believe that giving a robot a face can make it seem more friendly. Humans would also like to pay more attention to robots with faces. But what kind? For Mary, she wants to make sure that her new robot doesn’t look too much like a human. She wants people to just treat it as a machine-person. If it looks more like a human than a machine, she thinks users might find it a bit creepy and feel afraid. Mary also believes that robot faces don’t need to look a lot like ours. Her research shows that we can enjoy communicating with robots whether or not they look like humans, because our brains are able to look for faces. Just put two circles on top of a robot’s body, and we will see a face. Dave feels differently. He believes that although at first we might be afraid when seeing a robot with a lifelike face, we may soon get used to it. If robots are going to work closely with humans, they should look as much like us as possible. After all, faces are an important part of the way we communicate. To make his robots look as much like real people as possible, Dave invented a special skin (皮肤) for their faces. With this skin, robots can show human-like expressions and appear to be angry, sad, happy or surprised. Dave’s robots are also programmed to copy expressions. How? Just imagine his robot is looking at you. The cameras in its eyes send pictures of your face to its central computer! 52. Why do scientists think a robot needs a face? A. It will become more beautiful. B. It can do better in lifting things. C. It will pay more attention to children. D. It can better communicate with people. 53. What does the underlined word “creepy” mean in paragraph 2? A. Uncomfortable to look at. B. Impossible to touch. C. Boring to talk to. D. Difficult to understand. 54. Which of the following would Dave most probably agree with? A. People should treat robots as humans. B. Robots need to express their own feelings. C. Robots shouldn’t look too much like humans. D. People can easily accept robots with a human face. 55. What is the purpose of the passage? A. To explain the reasons why robots should have faces. B. To suggest what humans can do with robots with faces. C. To share ideas on what kind of faces robots should have. D. To show how scientists invent robots with different faces. 52. D 53. A 54.
