主语These monkeys为复数形式,be动词需用复数形式are。
spend time (in) doing sth.

We’re healthy vegetables,’ the potatoes say.”

Small is beautiful. So every week we ask our readers to send us their short stories. Each story must be no more than 60 words. And then we choose our favourites to share with you!
Here are the best from last week’s topic (主题):
Changing the rules
①I don’t like cabbage. My father always makes me eat it at lunch. “The rule is: eat everything on your plate (盘子),” he says. I eat it, and then I don’t feel well. When I’m a father, my rule will be: “If you don’t like it, you can leave it.”
②“Come to the school football team at four o’clock!” the sign says. So I go. But a boy says, “Girls can’t play in the school team!” “There’s no such rule,” I say. And I play. Now there’s a new rule—everyone can play on the school football team.
③“They’re my rules,” Kevin says. “If you don’t like them, find others to play with you.” When he goes to bed later that evening, Kevin feels sad. No one would like to play with him. If he makes rules next time, he will ...

In Story ②, the girl wants to change the rule because she thinks it’s not fair. She believes everyone can play in the school football team, not just boys.
