May 12th is International Nurse’s Day. It is a special day to honor nurses all over the world. Do you know where this day comes from?

Nightingale changed this. She cleaned the hospital, fed the patients, and checked on them at night with a lamp. The soldiers called her “The Lady with the Lamp”. After the war, she opened the first nursing school in London in 1860.
To remember her great work, the International Council of Nurses (国际护士理事会) decided to set May 12th as Nurse’s Day in 1912. Since then, people celebrate it every year. Nurses are angels in white. They deserve our respect and thanks.

Yesterday was a terrible day for me. I made a big mistake at school, and I felt really embarrassed.
During the second period, we had a math test. I finished quickly and was the first one to hand in my paper. I was so proud of myself. However, when I got back to my seat, I saw my deskmate, Tom, looking at my desk with a confused face. “Why is your math book still here?” he asked.
I looked down and my face turned red. I had handed in Tom’s paper by mistake! We have the same kind of notebook, and I was too careless to check the name on it.
I immediately raised my hand and told the teacher, Mr. Li, about it. To my surprise, he didn’t get angry. He smiled and said, “It’s okay to make mistakes. Honesty is more important than a perfect score.” I ran to the teacher’s desk and swapped the papers.
After class, Tom laughed at me, but he also said I was brave to admit the mistake. I learned a lesson: never be too proud and always check things carefully.

Smartphones have become an important part of our daily lives. For teenagers, they are not just tools for making calls, but also windows to the world. However, like everything else, smartphones have both advantages and disadvantages.
On one hand, smartphones are very helpful. They allow students to look up new words, search for information, and use educational apps. Also, they make it easy to stay in touch with parents and friends. In times of emergency (紧急情况), a phone can save a life.
On the other hand, smartphones can be addictive. Many teenagers spend too much time playing games or scrolling through social media This is bad for their eyes and study. A recent study shows that students who use phones for more than 4 hours a day often get lower grades.
Moreover, “phubbing” (低头族) is a common problem. Some students even look at their phones while walking, which is very dangerous.
So, how should we use smartphones? Experts suggest setting a time limit. For example, don’t use phones during meals or before bedtime. Smartphones are great servants, but bad masters. We should control them, not let them control us.
26.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Smartphones are bad and should be banned.

C. It helps you study better D. It improves your eyesight
29.Which of the following is NOT mentioned as an advantage of smartphones?
A. Looking up information B. Playing games all day
C. Staying in touch with friends D. Using educational apps
30.What is the writer’s suggestion at the end?

1. 答案:A
(They are Lily’s and Lucy’s rooms)。
“在左边/右边”固定用法是 on the left/right。
borrow/lend/buy都是短暂性动词,不能与for+时间段连用,要转化为keep(保留)。
6. 答案:A
标志词“yet”通常用于现在完成时的否定句或疑问句,结构为have/has not + done。
8. 答案:A
12. 答案:A
The teacher是单数,所以用is。
That's all right用于回答道歉或感谢(没关系/不客气);That's right意为“那是对的”。
stop to do sth 所以选to talk。
【A篇答案】
16.B (细节题:第一段第一句 May 12th is…)
18.B (细节题:第二段 she went to the front to take care of wounded soldiers)
19.C (细节题:第三段 checked on them at night with a lamp)
20.C (细节题:第三段 opened the first nursing school… in 1860)
【B篇答案】
C (细节题:第二段 I had handed in Tom’s paper by mistake)
C (细节题:第四段 To my surprise, he didn’t get angry… Honesty is more important)
B (主旨题:最后一句 Honesty is more important 及 carefulness)
B (词义猜测题:后文提到 spend too much time playing games,说明是“上瘾的”)
B (细节题:倒数第二段 look at their phones while walking, which is very dangerous)
B (细节题:Playing games all day 是缺点,不是优点)
C (细节题:最后一段 Experts suggest setting a time limit)
A Special Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is a special day to show love to our mothers. Last Sunday, I wanted to give my mother a big surprise.
My mother is a hard-working teacher, so I decided to help her with housework. In the morning, I got up early and cooked noodles for her. It was not very delicious, but my mother said it was the best meal she had ever eaten. After breakfast, I gave her a beautiful card that I made by myself. I also helped her wash the clothes and gave her a back massage to make her relax.
Seeing the smile on her face, I felt very proud. My mother hugged me and said, “Thank you, my dear son/daughter.” I realized that love doesn’t need to be expensive; it just needs to be sincere.
