At the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, a group of robots named “Fuxi” performed traditional (传统的) Yangge dance with human dancers. The robots, designed by Unitree Robotics, wore bright red jackets with flower patterns and moved smoothly on stage. Their performance mixed cultural traditions with modern technology (科技) , making it one of the most talked-about shows of the night.
The robots did more than just repeat simple actions. They could twist their waists, kick their legs, and even spin handkerchiefs like skilled human dancers. To achieve this, engineers used Al technology to help the robots “listen” to the music. When the rhythm changed, the robots adjusted their movements instantly. They also had special sensors to detect their surroundings, preventing them from bumping into (撞到) dancers.
The name “Fuxi” was chosen carefully. In Chinese legends, Fuxi is a wise ancestor who created important cultural tools. The team said, “Just as Fuxi helped humans long ago, these robots help us pass traditions to the next generation.”
After the show, many young people shared videos online. A middle school student commented: “I used to think Yangge was for grandparents, but these robots made it cool! Now I want to learn it too!”

Teachers and headmasters in Chinese schools are asked to eat with students in dining rooms at every meal. The new rule was carried out on April 1, 2019. According to the Ministry of Education, the introduction of the rule is a way of making sure of the safety, nutrition and health levels of school food.
School leaders from kindergartens to high schools should get together with students during school meals. The plan will guide them to pay more attention to food safety at school.
This move came after a list of school food safety problems in the past few years. In March, 2019, moldy (发霉的) food was found in a primary school dining room in Chengdu. The news led to people’s worries. Parents asked to make sure of school food safety.
Under the new rule, schools are asked to tell where the food comes from, who offers it and other information. The rule says schools should help students get into healthy eating habits. It also invites parents to eat with students at school to make them less worried.
In the United States, obesity rates (肥胖率) have kept rising over the past thirty years. The new law introduced by Michelle Obama has pushed schools to make low-calorie (卡路里) menus. Even the healthiest choices are commonly provided by large food companies.
Schools in Japan also give children a homemade meal for lunch. The food is grown locally and is almost never frozen (冷冻) . The meals are often made by cooks from the beginning. And they’re balanced but heavy on rice, vegetables and fish.
