According to a study, sleeping with lights on can affect (影响) us a lot. It may stop us from resting well and our hearts will beat quickly. What’s worse, our bodies may have trouble getting the blood sugar to be normal.
Other studies show that blue light harms our health in some ways. Blue light comes from our mobile phones, computers and so on. When we use these things at night, it makes us difficult to fall asleep. Sometimes it can even stop us from sleeping well.
However, blue light can do some good. It can help wake us up when we’re sleepy in the daytime. Blue light also helps us in winter. Some of us may feel upset because of shorter days and less sunlight. When blue light shines on us, we may feel better.
Of course, no light can beat natural light. It can not only make our rooms bright but also keep our bodies healthy. Natural light also cuts down our headaches and nervous feelings. To stay healthy and keep happy, we should use the right kind of light at the right time.

When the music stopped, 13-year-old Li Yongqiu finished his show with a cool headstand (头倒立). Everyone cheered! On March 8, the young dancer from Chongqing won first place at Juste Debout 2026, a famous street dance competition in Paris, France.
Li started learning street dance at the age of 8. He practiced for about two hours each school day and five hours each day on weekends. He also trained in Chinese martial arts (武术) and mixed these skills into his dance. This made his moves clear and special.
Many kids are afraid of getting hurt while learning difficult moves, but Li is different-the harder the move, the more he wants to learn it. When he fails, he always tries to find out why. His coach Lei Kai said that he dances not just with his body but also with his mind.
At the competition, Li faced dancers from around the world. Though he is smaller and thinner than many others, his moves are strong. By mixing drunken fist (醉拳) with street dance, he can change freely between fast and slow moves.
At first, Li’s coaches just wanted him to meet and learn from great dancers. They never expected him to win. However, Li told Hongxing News that his real goal was always to be No 1. “Street dance is about staying positive (积极的) and fighting until the end. My next goal is to win again,” Li said.
28. Why are Li Yongqiu’s dance moves clear and special?
A. Because he practices street dance for 7 hours every day without a break.
B. Because he combines Chinese martial arts skills with his street dance.
C. Because his coach Lei Kai trains him with professional and strict methods.
D. Because he is smaller and thinner than other dancers from around the world.
29. What does Li Yongqiu’s coach mean by saying “he dances not just with his body but also with his mind”?
A. Li is good at thinking about the reasons for his failures and improving.
B. Li can use his mind to control his body to finish difficult moves easily.
C. Li always keeps a positive mind and never gives up when facing challenges.
D. Li can mix different dance styles by thinking about the rhythm of the music.
30. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Li Yongqiu started learning street dance at the age of 13.
B. Li’s coaches expected him to win the competition at first.
C. Li Yongqiu is afraid of getting hurt when learning difficult moves.
D. Li Yongqiu will keep working hard to achieve his next goal.
31. What is the best title for the passage?
A. A Young Dancer’s Road to Success
B. The Charm of Chinese Street Dance
C. A Famous Street Dance Competition in France
D. The Importance of Hard Work for Dancers

① An old saying used for forecasting (预报) the weather goes, “Red sky at nightfall, sailors’ delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” Is the saying true? It turns out that it is.
② A red sky at sunset may mean there are clear skies to the west, where the sun sets. A red sky at sunrise usually means that the clear weather has already passed, so storms might be coming.
③ Forecasting the weather has been practiced for thousands of years. In the 5th century BC, the Greeks sent out forecasts to sailors (水手). They used signs in nature to forecast the weather. But today, meteorologists (气象学家) send exact forecasts further in advance (提前). They use scientific instruments to study weather conditions around the world and make forecasts.
④ ▲ Pilots, farmers and many other people depend on these forecasts. Luckily, most of us can simply look on the smartphone or turn on the TV to find out what kind of weather is coming.
⑤ If you are looking for some signs of the weather, pay attention to nature. There are two basic rules used in weather forecasting: weather generally moves from west to east, and low air pressure usually means rain or snow.
⑥ Nature offers many clues (线索) for us to predict the weather. For example, if rainbows form in the west at sunrise, the sun is on the way. Smell the flowers—their smells are stronger in wet air. What are the ants doing? Are they moving to higher ground? This could mean a drop in air pressure. Are the birds flying low or high? Falling air pressure may influence birds’ ears, so they fly low. And if the sky is red at sunset, you might plan a picnic for the next day!
32. What does the underlined sentence in paragraph 1 probably mean?
33. According to the passage, which of the following is TRUE about weather forecasting?
A. The old saying about the red sky has no value in modern weather forecasting.
B. Meteorologists today forecast the weather like the Greeks did in ancient times.
C. People can predict the weather by looking for different kinds of natural signs.
D. Weather forecasting started recently and is mainly done through smartphones and TV.
34. Which of the following sentences can be put in “ ▲ ”?
A. Modern technology has changed our life a lot.
B. Weather forecasts play an important role in life.
C. Weather changes are too hard to make predictions.
D. People have different ways to deal with bad weather.
35. Which of the following can best show the structure of this passage?

VI.
We are taught from birth to use food to express our feelings. We plan family dinners, treat our friends from far away and make traditional food during festivals.
But emotional eating is different. For example, you may eat a lot more than usual when you fail an important exam. You might eat a lot when experiencing the stress from Covid-19. The bad news is that emotional eating will not help you drive away any terrible feelings but might only lower your energy, disturb your sleep and weaken your immunity (免疫力). Luckily, here are some things you can do to avoid emotional eating.
First, understand what you are experiencing. If your stomach is growling (咆哮), it is a sign of physical hunger. But if there is no such sign and you still feel hungry, you’d better do a mental check of yourself: Am I experiencing happiness, sadness, fear, or anger? If your answer is yes, it is not your body but your mind that is asking for food.
Moreover, when to eat also has a great influence. You should eat meals around the same time each day, and leave about three to five hours apart between meals. If you stick to this plan, you can not only avoid mindless eating but also control your blood sugar and insulin (胰岛素).
Last but not least, remember to avoid blaming (责备) yourself for emotional eating. This only heightens emotions, which can increase the drive to eat. Sometimes a mistake can be a chance to learn how to deal with a similar situation in the future. So try to use a gentle self-talk next time.
Follow these suggestions from now on! You can eat well even under great stress!
41. Is emotional eating good for us?
________________________________________________
42. How many suggestions does the writer give us to avoid the emotional eating?

43. What harm does emotional eating do to our body?

Recently, a news story surprised many people: a parent got a collapsed lung (气胸) because of strong anger when helping her child with homework.
A woman in Nanjing was very angry. Her child made the same mistake again and again. After shouting, she felt sharp chest pain and could not breathe well. Doctors said she had a pneumothorax (气胸) (a kind of lung hurt). Experts say strong anger can cause sudden health problems.
This story shows a lose-lose problem (双输问题): Parents try their best to help kids study, but get hurt in body and mind; Kids feel stressed, but make little progress. In fact, there shouldn’t be a winner in this fight. Instead, we need to understand each other.
First, parents should understand kids. Kids have growing pains and ability limits. When they make mistakes, they are already sad. They need a helper to find their mistakes, not a strict person pushing them harder. Giving up the idea of “being perfect right away” is very helpful.
Then, kids should understand parents. Parents’ worry comes from their care and hope for their future. Studying hard is the best way to show we care back. We don’t need full marks—just try our best and take responsibility.
Finally, let’s work together. We hope all parents can be more patient, and all kids a little more self-disciplined (自律的). If we solve problems together, education can go back to its true nature: a warm way to grow and support each other. .
A news story told us that a parent got a collapsed lung because of strong anger when helping her child with homework.

A. B.
C. D.
B 33. C 34. B 35. C

第1段谚语:“Red sky at nightfall, sailors‘ delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.”,意思为“晚上天红,水手高兴;早上天红,水手当心。”
第6段中介绍“Nature offers many clues for us to predict the weather.” C“People can predict the weather by looking for different kinds of natural signs.”
B“Weather forecasts play an important role in life.”

If we solve problems together, education can go back to its true nature: a warm way to grow and support each other. .

First, we should do exercise regularly. We can go running, swim and play ball games, which help us forget worries and build up our body. Second, developing hobbies is a good choice. Listening to light music/reading books can make us relaxed and bring us fun. Besides, we need to keep a positive attitude. Being confident/brave helps us face difficulties bravely. Finally, we should talk with others. Sharing problems with parents/teachers/friends makes us feel better.
Let’s take action to stay healthy and happy!
