第一节
A
22.A

解析:原文明确指出:“Please fill out the online form..…by June30th'。
23.B
解题依据:定位到Perks for Volunteers(志愿者福利)板块。
解析:原文列出第三点:“A certificate of community service(great for college applications!)”。
But seeing the hopeful look in his eyes,I nodded.,”
My legs turned to jelly.I froze,.pressing my back against the cold rock face.,
26.A
Just look at my boots.Take one step toward my boots.”
27.C
解题依据:最后一段主旨句:you conquer it by focusing on the step right in front of you.”
(One Step at a Time)。
This field, known as biomimicry, involves study ing nature's best ideas and then imitating these designs
and processes to solve human challenges."
This surface physically prevents bacteria from attaching and multiplying, reducing the spread of infections
without using chemical antibiotics."
antibiotics)。
31.B
Nature operates on a few basic rules:it uses only the energy it needs, recycles everything, and relies on
diversity.”
Deep reading refers to the slow, immersive process of reading complex texts..Maryanne Wolf.wams that
this...is becoming less capable of the patience required for deep reading."
33.A
We hunt for keywords rather than absorbing meaning.”
Deep reading fosters empathy...essential for social cohesion..”
This is not a call to throw away our smartphones.Digital tools offer incredible access to
information. However,we must treat deep reading like a muscle..."
37.A
前文批评了Multitasking(多任务处理)效率低。A
Working for long periods...can lead to mental fatigue
前一句讲的是Lack of sleep(睡眠不足)
Building focus takes time and patience”(培养专注力需要时间和耐心)。
It was a freezing December afternoon'"(寒冷的十二月下午)以及作者排队时的状态,通常会感到烦躁或
42.C
解析:根据后文列举的物品"a loaf of bread and a small carton of milk"(一条面包和一小盒牛奶),这些都是非常普通、简
43.A
He was short by just a few dollars'"(他少了仅仅几美元),说明收银员的意思是这些钱不够。"
45.A
B项"see"
A项"permission'"(允许);C
47.C
解析:作者突然递上钞票,老人感到非常惊讶。"Surprise'"(惊讶)符合常理。A项"anger'"(愤怒):B项"fear'(恐惧);
A项"shook"
49.A
50.A
A项"faster'"(更快):
52.C
解析:固定搭配"meant a lot to him'"(对他意义重大)。
A项"silly"(愚蠢的);C项"funy"(有趣的);D项"strange'"
55.A
56.began
57.later
58.Drinking
tea soon became a social event..
词原形不能作主语,需要用动名词形式Drinking(喝茶)。
59.a
60.between
固定搭配harmony between A and B(A与B之间的和谐)。
61.which
62.as/because/for
63.is enjoyed
结构为is/am/are+done。
词,助动词用is,故填is enjoyed。
64.to suit
65.closer
人称与时态:以第一人称(We/Student Union)为主,时态主要用一般将来时(will do/is scheduled to..)

开头升级:使用了"thrilled to announce'"(激动地宣布)和"first-ever"(首次),比简单的"decided to have”更具感染力。
("Whether it is."),展示了较强的语言驾驭能力。
Excited,I quickly fetched some water and seeds. My hands were trembling with anticipation as I carefully placed a few
sunflower seeds near the bird's beak and dipped a cotton swab into the water."Gently,Leo,be very gentle,"my father whispered,
guiding my hand.To our immense relief, the little cardinal stirred again. He opened his beak slightly, letting out a faint chirp that
sounded like a whisper of life.He pecked weakly at the seeds and took a tiny sip of water. As I watched his tiny chest rise and fall
with renewed strength,a wave of warmth washed over me,melting the indifference I had felt earlier.I realized then that my father
was right-sometimes,the smallest act,like filling a feeder,could indeed make a huge difference.
A few days later, the snow stopped, and the sun came out.The golden rays bathed our backyard, making the remaining snow
sparkle like diamonds. The cardinal had fully recovered;he was hopping energetically around the box, flapping his wings as if
testing their power. My father and I carried the box outside. As we opened the lid,the bird paused for a second, tilted his head,
and looked directly at us with his beady black eyes. Then, with a burst of energy,he flapped his bright red wings and soared into
the blue sky, leaving a trail of hope against the white snow.Watching him disappear into the horizon,I finally understood the true
meaning of my father's words.Even in the coldest winter, kindness could ignite the fire of life, teaching us that resilience and
compassion are the greatest forces on earth.
Even in the coldest winter, kindness could ignite the fire of life'"是典型的高分结尾,既总结了全文,又提升了文
句式丰富:使用了伴随状语("leaving a trail of hope..")、独立主格结构("y hands trembling."

I have always been terrified of heights. While my friends climbed trees or roller-skated on steep ramps,I stood on

the sidelines, clutching the fence. So,when my father suggested we go hiking up the"Eagle's Beak"-the highest peak in our
county-I almost laughed. But seeing the hopeful look in his eyes,I nodded.
The first hour was manageable. The trail was wide and lined with wildflowers. However,as we ascended, the path nanowed
,and the trees thinned out.By the time we reached the halfway point, the wind was howling, and I could see the valley floor far
below. My legs turned to jelly.I froze, pressing my back against the cold rock face.
"I can't do it,Dad,"I whispered,closing my eyes.
My father didn't force me to move.Instead,he sat down next to me."Don't look down,"he said softly."Just look at my
boots.Take one step toward my boots."
I opened my eyes and focused on his worn-out hiking boots.I took a shaky step. Then another. For the next hour,my world
shrank to the size of those boots.I didn't think about the summit;I didn't think about the drop.I just thought about the next step
When we finally reached the top,the view was breathtaking, but the feeling of accomplishment was even sweeter.I realized
that fear is like a mountain. You don't conquer it by looking at the whole terrifying height;you conquer it by focusing on the
step right in front ofyou.

A.He wanted to challenge his limits.B.He thought the trail would be easy.
C.He didn't want to disappoint his father.D.He was interested in the wildflowers.

26.What strategy did the father use to help the author?
A.Asking him to focus on the next small step.B.Carrying him on his back to the top.
C.Telling him to close his eyes and rest.D.Describing the beautiful view ahead.

A.A Dangerous Hiking Trail B.The View from the Top C.One Step at a Time D.My Father's Hiking Boots

Nature has been the ultimate engineer for billions of years.Today, scientists are increasingly turning to the natural
world for solutions to complex human problems. This field, known as biomimicry, involves studying nature's best ideas
and then imitating these designs and processes to solve human challenges.
One of the most famous examples is the Shinkansen bullet train in Japan.Engineers faced a problem:when the train
exited a tunnel at high speed,it created a loud "sonic boom"due to air pressure changes. The chief engineer,an avid
bird-watcher,noticed that the Kingfisher bird could dive from the air into the water with barely a splash. He redesigned
the train's nose to mimic the Kingfisher's long beak. The result? The train became quieter, faster, and used 15%less
electricity.
Another innovation comes from the study of shark skin.Shark skin is covered in tiny tooth-like scales called
denticles that prevent bacteria and algae from growing on them.Scientists have replicated this texture to create "Sharklet,"
a plastic surface used in hospitals. This surface physically prevents bacteria from attaching and multiplying, reducing the
spread of infections without using chemical antibiotics.
Biomimicry is not just about copying shapes;it is about understanding the principles behind them.Nature operates
on a few basic rules:it uses only the energy it needs, recycles everything, and relies on diversity. As we face global
challenges like climate change and resource depletion, looking to nature might just be the smartest strategy we have.
28.What is the core idea of biomimicry?
A.Protecting animals from extinction.B.Using nature's designs to solve human problems.
C.Studying the history of biological evolution.D.Creating robots that look like humans.
29.Why was the Kingfisher bird mentioned in the text?
A.To explain why the train was named"Shinkansen".
B.To show how a natural feature inspired a technological improvement.
C.To prove that birds are faster than modern trains.
D.To illustrate the danger of high-speed travel.
30.What is the main feature of the"Sharklet"surface?
A.It uses chemicals to kill bacteria.
B.It is made from real shark skin.
C.It helps algae grow in hospitals.D.It prevents bacteria growth through its physical structure.
31.What can be inferred about nature from the last paragraph?
A.Nature is wasteful but powerful.
B.Nature's methods are efficient and sustainable.
C.Nature cannot solve modern climate problems.
D.Biomimicry is the only way to save the planet.

In an age of 15-second videos and 280-character tweets, the art of deep reading is facing an existential crisis.
"Deep reading"refers to the slow, immersive process of reading complex texts, which allows the reader to make
connections, analyze arguments, and empathize with characters. It is a cognitive workout that builds the brain's capacity
for focus and critical thinking.
However, digital media promotes "skimming."When we read online, our eyes move in an "F"pattern-scanning
the top line and then down the left side.We hunt for keywords rather than absorbing meaning.Maryanne Wolf,a
cognitive neuroscientist, warns that this"digital reading brain"is becoming less capable of the patience required for
deep reading. We are losing the ability to navigate long, complex sentences and nuanced arguments.
The consequences extend beyond literacy.Deep reading fosters empathy. When we read a novel,we simulate the
experiences of others in our minds. This "theory of mind"is essential for social cohesion. If we lose the habit of deep
reading,we risk losing the ability to understand perspectives different from our own, leading to a more polarized
society.
This is not a call to throw away our smartphones.Digital tools offer incredible access to information. However,we
must treat deep reading like a muscle that needs exercise. We need to consciously carve out time to read books,
uninterrupted by notifications.Preserving our ability to read deeply is not just about preserving literature;it is about
preserving our capacity to think deeply.
32.What does"deep reading"require according to the text?
A.Scanning for keywords quickly.B.Reading short tweets and posts.
C.Patience and immersion in complex texts.D.Moving eyes in an"F"pattern.
33.What does the"F"pattern in paragraph 2 suggest?
A.Online reading lacks focus and thoroughness.B.It is the most efficient way to read news.
C.It helps readers remember more details.D.It is a standard method taught in schools.
34.Why is deep reading crucial for social cohesion?
A.It improves people's typing speed.B.It helps people access more information.
C.It encourages people to write novels.D.It fosters empathy and understanding of others.
35.What is the author's attitude towards digital tools?
A.Completely negative.B.Balanced and objective.
C.Overly optimistic.
D.Indifferent and neutral.
In a world full of constant notifications and endless information, maintaining focus can feel like an impossible
task. However, focus is like a muscle;with the right training and habits, you can strengthen it.Here are several
scientifically proven strategies to help you reclaim your attention.
Create a Distraction-Free Environment
Your physical environment plays a huge role in your ability to concentrate.Clutter and noise can pull your attention
away from the task at hand.Try to keep your workspace clean and organized. If you are easily distracted by noise,
consider using noise-canceling headphones or playing soft background music.36
Practice Single-Tasking
Multitasking is often praised, but research shows it actually reduces efficiency and lowers the quality of your
work. When you switch between tasks, your brain needs time to refocus, which wastes energy.37 Give your full
attention to one activity until it is completed or until you reach a designated stopping point.
Take Regular Breaks
Working for long periods without a break can lead to mental fatigue.38 A popular method is the Pomodoro
Technique, where you work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break.Stepping away from your work allows
your brain to recharge, making you more productive when you return.
Prioritize Sleep and Exercise
Your brain needs physical care to function at its best.Lack of sleep can severely impair your cognitive abilities,
making it hard to focus.39 Regular physical activity increases blood flow to the brain and releases chemicals
that improve your mood and concentration.Even a short walk during your break can make a big difference.
40
Building focus takes time and patience.Don't get discouraged if you struggle at first.By consistently applying
these strategies, you will gradually find it easier to concentrate and achieve your goals.
A.Instead, commit to doing one thing at a time.
B.Similarly, exercise is crucial for brain health.
C.Therefore,eliminating digital distractions is key.
D.To combat this, try breaking your work into manageable chunks.
E.Be patient and consistent with your focus training.
F.This will help your brain associate the space with productivity.
G.Reading books is also a good way to improve your vocabulary.

Reluctantly,I dragged myself out of the warm house. My father had built a wooden bird feeder in our backyard

"Small acts of kindness can save lives when the world is freezing."At that moment,I just thought it was a boring

world.I reached the old oak tree and poured a bag of sunflower seeds into the feeder. As I turned to leave,a flash of
bright red caught my eye.
There,half-buried in a snowdrift near the fence,was a small bird.It was a cardinal(),its vibrant red feathers
standing out against the white snow. But it wasn't moving. Its eyes were closed, and it lay crumpled on the ground like
a fallen leaf.
My heart skipped a beat."Dad!"I shouted,my voice trembling. My father rushed out and gently scooped up the
tiny creature."He's hypothermic(体温过低的),"Dad whispered."We need to warm him up,fast."Ve brought the
bird inside and placed him in a small box lined with a soft towel near the heater. For the next two hours,we took turns
watching him,barely daring to breathe.
Suddenly, the little bird twitched. He opened one eye, then the other, and let out a weak chirp.

I have always been terrified of heights. While my friends climbed trees or roller-skated on steep ramps, I stood on

the sidelines, clutching the fence. So, when my father suggested we go hiking up the "Eagle’s Beak"—the highest peak in our county—I almost laughed. But seeing the hopeful look in his eyes, I nodded.
The first hour was manageable. The trail was wide and lined with wildflowers. However, as we ascended, the path narrowed
,and the trees thinned out. By the time we reached the halfway point, the wind was howling, and I could see the valley floor far below. My legs turned to jelly. I froze, pressing my back against the cold rock face.
"I can't do it, Dad," I whispered, closing my eyes.
My father didn't force me to move. Instead, he sat down next to me. "Don't look down," he said softly. "Just look at my boots. Take one step toward my boots."
I opened my eyes and focused on his worn-out hiking boots. I took a shaky step. Then another. For the next hour, my world
shrank to the size of those boots. I didn't think about the summit; I didn't think about the drop. I just thought about the next step.
When we finally reached the top, the view was breathtaking, but the feeling of accomplishment was even sweeter. I realized
that fear is like a mountain. You don't conquer it by looking at the whole terrifying height; you conquer it by focusing on the step right in front of you.
24.Why did the author agree to the hike initially?
A.He wanted to challenge his limits. B.He thought the trail would be easy.
C.He didn't want to disappoint his father. D.He was interested in the wildflowers.
25.How did the author feel at the halfway point?
A.Excited about the view. B.Angry at his father. C.Relaxed and calm. D.Terrified and frozen.
26.What strategy did the father use to help the author?
A.Asking him to focus on the next small step. B.Carrying him on his back to the top.
C.Telling him to close his eyes and rest. D.Describing the beautiful view ahead.
27.What is the best title for the text?
A.A Dangerous Hiking Trail B.The View from the Top C.One Step at a Time D.My Father's Hiking Boots

Nature has been the ultimate engineer for billions of years. Today, scientists are increasingly turning to the natural world for solutions to complex human problems. This field, known as biomimicry, involves studying nature’s best ideas and then imitating these designs and processes to solve human challenges.
One of the most famous examples is the Shinkansen bullet train in Japan. Engineers faced a problem: when the train exited a tunnel at high speed, it created a loud "sonic boom" due to air pressure changes. The chief engineer, an avid bird-watcher, noticed that the Kingfisher bird could dive from the air into the water with barely a splash. He redesigned the train’s nose to mimic the Kingfisher’s long beak. The result? The train became quieter, faster, and used 15% less electricity.
Another innovation comes from the study of shark skin. Shark skin is covered in tiny tooth-like scales called denticles that prevent bacteria and algae from growing on them. Scientists have replicated this texture to create "Sharklet," a plastic surface used in hospitals. This surface physically prevents bacteria from attaching and multiplying, reducing the spread of infections without using chemical antibiotics.
Biomimicry is not just about copying shapes; it is about understanding the principles behind them. Nature operates on a few basic rules: it uses only the energy it needs, recycles everything, and relies on diversity. As we face global challenges like climate change and resource depletion, looking to nature might just be the smartest strategy we have.
28.What is the core idea of biomimicry?
A.Protecting animals from extinction. B.Using nature's designs to solve human problems.
C.Studying the history of biological evolution. D.Creating robots that look like humans.
29.Why was the Kingfisher bird mentioned in the text?
A.To explain why the train was named"Shinkansen".
B.To show how a natural feature inspired a technological improvement.

C.It helps algae grow in hospitals. D.It prevents bacteria growth through its physical structure.
31.What can be inferred about nature from the last paragraph?
A.Nature is wasteful but powerful. B.Nature's methods are efficient and sustainable.

In an age of 15-second videos and 280-character tweets, the art of deep reading is facing an existential crisis. "Deep reading" refers to the slow, immersive process of reading complex texts, which allows the reader to make connections, analyze arguments, and empathize with characters. It is a cognitive workout that builds the brain's capacity for focus and critical thinking.
However, digital media promotes "skimming." When we read online, our eyes move in an "F" pattern—scanning the top line and then down the left side. We hunt for keywords rather than absorbing meaning. Maryanne Wolf, a cognitive neuroscientist, warns that this "digital reading brain" is becoming less capable of the patience required for deep reading. We are losing the ability to navigate long, complex sentences and nuanced arguments.
The consequences extend beyond literacy. Deep reading fosters empathy. When we read a novel, we simulate the experiences of others in our minds. This "theory of mind" is essential for social cohesion. If we lose the habit of deep reading, we risk losing the ability to understand perspectives different from our own, leading to a more polarized society.
This is not a call to throw away our smartphones. Digital tools offer incredible access to information. However, we must treat deep reading like a muscle that needs exercise. We need to consciously carve out time to read books, uninterrupted by notifications. Preserving our ability to read deeply is not just about preserving literature; it is about preserving our capacity to think deeply.
32.What does"deep reading"require according to the text?
A.Scanning for keywords quickly. B.Reading short tweets and posts.
C.Patience and immersion in complex texts. D.Moving eyes in an"F"pattern.
33.What does the"F"pattern in paragraph 2 suggest?
A.Online reading lacks focus and thoroughness. B.It is the most efficient way to read news.
C.It helps readers remember more details. D.It is a standard method taught in schools.
34.Why is deep reading crucial for social cohesion?
A.It improves people's typing speed. B.It helps people access more information.
C.It encourages people to write novels. D.It fosters empathy and understanding of others.
35.What is the author's attitude towards digital tools?
A.Completely negative. B.Balanced and objective. C. Overly optimistic. D. Indifferent and neutral.
In a world full of constant notifications and endless information, maintaining focus can feel like an impossible task. However, focus is like a muscle; with the right training and habits, you can strengthen it. Here are several scientifically proven strategies to help you reclaim your attention.
Create a Distraction-Free Environment
Your physical environment plays a huge role in your ability to concentrate. Clutter and noise can pull your attention
away from the task at hand. Try to keep your workspace clean and organized. If you are easily distracted by noise, consider using noise-canceling headphones or playing soft background music. 36

Practice Single-Tasking
Multitasking is often praised, but research shows it actually reduces efficiency and lowers the quality of your work. When you switch between tasks, your brain needs time to refocus, which wastes energy. 37 Give your full attention to one activity until it is completed or until you reach a designated stopping point.
Take Regular Breaks
Working for long periods without a break can lead to mental fatigue. 38 A popular method is the Pomodoro Technique, where you work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. Stepping away from your work allows your brain to recharge, making you more productive when you return.
Prioritize Sleep and Exercise
Your brain needs physical care to function at its best. Lack of sleep can severely impair your cognitive abilities, making it hard to focus. 39 Regular physical activity increases blood flow to the brain and releases chemicals that improve your mood and concentration. Even a short walk during your break can make a big difference.
40
Building focus takes time and patience. Don't get discouraged if you struggle at first. By consistently applying these strategies, you will gradually find it easier to concentrate and achieve your goals.

It was the coldest morning of the year. The wind howled outside, whipping snow against the windows of my bedroom. I pulled my blanket tighter, wishing I could stay in bed forever. But my father had already called me. "Come on, Leo! The feeder is empty, and the birds are starving out there."
Reluctantly, I dragged myself out of the warm house. My father had built a wooden bird feeder in our backyard years ago. Every winter morning, no matter how cold it was, he insisted on refilling it with seeds. He always said, "Small acts of kindness can save lives when the world is freezing." At that moment, I just thought it was a boring chore.
I trudged (沉重地走) through the deep snow, the icy wind biting my face. The backyard was a white, silent world. I reached the old oak tree and poured a bag of sunflower seeds into the feeder. As I turned to leave, a flash of bright red caught my eye.
There, half-buried in a snowdrift near the fence, was a small bird. It was a cardinal (红雀), its vibrant red feathers standing out against the white snow. But it wasn't moving. Its eyes were closed, and it lay crumpled on the ground like a fallen leaf.
My heart skipped a beat. "Dad!" I shouted, my voice trembling. My father rushed out and gently scooped up the tiny creature. "He's hypothermic (体温过低的)," Dad whispered. "We need to warm him up, fast." We brought the bird inside and placed him in a small box lined with a soft towel near the heater. For the next two hours, we took turns watching him, barely daring to breathe.
Suddenly, the little bird twitched. He opened one eye, then the other, and let out a weak chirp.
