81.
Growing up often comes with troubles and difficulties. I’d like to share one of my own experiences.
Last term, I joined a school English speech competition. I practised my speech many times, but I was so nervous that a big mistake was made. Back then, I was so disappointed at being too nervous and failing to win the prize. I couldn’t help crying whenever I thought of it.
Then my teacher advised me to try writing stories first because writing could help me express my ideas clearly . I was encouraged by her. At first, I wrote just to take my mind off things. But later, I began to enjoy the time of turning my thoughts into words. I fell completely in love with writing. Now, I’ve finished three stories and joined the school writing club.
From this experience, I learned that every failure brings us closer to success. As long as we keep trying, we can overcome any difficulty.

In December 2025, Australia made a new law. Young people under 16 can’t have their own social media accounts (账号) any more. Apps such as TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and others must check users’ ages now. And they need to take away the accounts of those under 16. Companies shouldn’t break this rule, or they may have to pay a lot of money.
Many parents, teachers and child-safety experts have been worried about the effects of social media on young people. Some Internet risks like cyberbullying, wrong information and long screen time. The government hopes the rule will protect young people’s health and encourage real-world activities.
Under the rule, social media companies must use technology like age-checking videos and ID checks to guess a user’s age. If someone seems under 16, their account will be closed. The way isn’t perfect, and some young people may still find ways around it, but it tries its best to decrease the number of users under 16.
Different people have different opinions. Some families welcome the change because it makes the internet a safer place. Others are afraid that it may cut off young people from friends and support groups online. Tech companies also say age checks are hard to carry out and may encourage children to move to smaller or riskier apps.
Australia will watch how the rule works and see how much it helps young people. Other countries are watching closely, thinking about starting similar laws too. This Australian new plan may influence how the world protects children online in the future.

My grandma was a great old lady. When I was 10 years old, she left her farm and came to stay with us in the town.
For the first few months, grandma felt sad. She missed the peace of life in the countryside.
When the warm spring came, grandma announced (宣布) that she was going to plant a small garden. The 2026 Spring Festival Gala surprised everyone with an amazing act called "Wu BOT." It was a fantastic mix of old and new. On the bright stage, high-tech robots performed together with young kung fu masters from the Shaolin Temple. This was not a simple dance; it was a serious display of martial arts.

What was most impressive was their balance. They stood in deep stances and moved quickly without falling, showing that robots can learn the discipline of kung fu. Their actions were so precise that they looked almost like real humans.

It made people feel very proud of the country's fast progress in science. The robots did not take the place of humans; they worked together with them. Last month, I had a big problem. I argued with my best friend. We didn't talk to each other for a week. I felt very sad and lonely. I didn't know what to do. I kept the feeling inside. I couldn't sleep well at night. I didn't want to do anything the next day.
Then, I read a passage about dealing with negative emotions. It said we should not keep negative feelings inside. We should talk with someone we trust. So, I decided to talk with my mother. I told her everything. She listened to me carefully. She said I should communicate with my friend and say sorry first. She also said true friendship is valuable.
I followed her advice. I called my friend and we talked for a long time. We understood each other again. Now we are good friends again. I'm very happy.
I learn that dealing with negative emotions well is really important. It helps us solve problems and avoid more trouble. We can talk with our parents, teachers, or friends. We can also take exercise to relax. Let's learn to manage our emotions.
