Dear Tom,
How is everything going? I’m writing to tell you about the Reading Festival held in our school last Thursday.
Its theme is “Reading Makes Me Grow”. There were many wonderful parts. First, we had a recitation contest where everyone showed their talent. Then, we put on interesting textbook play performances which brought the characters to life. Later, some students shared their favorite books.
I took an active part in these activities. This reading festival left me a deep impression. I truly understand reading is beneficial to our growth.
It brings me much knowledge and opens my eyes to the world. What’s more, reading gives me joy and strength when I feel down. Many characters in books, such as Mulan, make me confident and brave. Besides, it helps me improve my writing skills and express my ideas more clearly.
Yours,
Li Hua
