三、短文阅读
Robert was the cutest boy in my class. One day, I hit him with my jacket. I thought there was nothing serious because the jacket was so light. However, Robert cried loudly and held his left shoulder(肩膀). He was sent to see the doctor quickly. I was asked to see Mr.Sinclair, our head teacher. Then my hand felt a hard, round object in my pocket. I realized that I hurt Robert not with my jacket, but with my yoyo ball.

After I reached the office, I explained to Mr.Sinclair that I had hurt Robert with my yoyo ball by mistake. I felt so apologetic. “I'm sure you didn't mean to hurt anyone,” Mr.Sinclair said. “But because Robert was hurt, I have to send you home for the rest of the day. Please wait here until your mother comes to pick you up.”

I waited a few minutes and my mother came. After going home, I told her the whole story. She said, “I did something even worse when I was at your age. I hurt a boy's eyes when I played basketball on the playground.” I was so surprised. “I guess we're just a couple of troublemakers, aren't we, honey?” Mom said with a smile on her face. Her expressions and relaxing tone made me relaxed, so I said, “I guess so.”
