When people see Lego, most think it is only a toy for children. However, for 18-year-old Xu Tianyi from Shandong, Lego is far more meaningful. He uses it to introduce Chinese culture to the world.
Xu has loved Lego since he was young. At 10, he became a “MOCer”. MOC means “My Own Creation”. He no longer follows instructions but creates his own original (原创的) Lego works.
While building, Xu found that many official Chinese-culture Lego sets only showed the outside look, but they missed important details. Guided by this idea, he created Ink Wash Painting: Galloping Horse, based on Xu Beihong’s famous painting. He explained that Xu Beihong connected Western techniques (技巧) with traditional Chinese ink wash and left empty spaces on the horse. So he built the work using only black, white and grey bricks (积木), showing both a strong 3D effect and the beauty of traditional ink wash painting.
Xu’s works are widely loved on social media and Lego Ideas. He was deeply touched by a long comment praising the details of his horse. Xu believes people love his works because Chinese culture is amazing, and he just presents it in a creative and interesting way.
Now he is creating more works like the Beijing Lord Rabbit. He hopes to make traditional culture closer to people’s daily lives through touchable Lego models. Just like him, we can also use our hobbies to share wonderful Chinese culture with the world.
24. When did Xu Tianyi become a “MOCer”?
A. At 18. B. At 16. C. At 12. D. At 10.
25. What color are the bricks that Xu used to build the work?
A. Brown, white and grey. B. Black, white and grey.
C. Brown, white and red. D. Black, white and red.
26. What’s the Chinese meaning of the underlined word “comment”?
A. 批评 B. 意见 C. 说明 D. 评论
27. What is the best title for the passage?
A. Life Journey of Xu Beihong B. Ink Wash Painting in China
C. More Than a Toy for Children D. Techniques in Horse Painting
【答案】24. D 25. B 26. D 27. C
根据第二段“At 10, he became a ‘MOCer’.”,这直接说明他在10岁时成为了MOCer。
【25题详解】
根据第三段“So he built the work using only black, white and grey bricks”,这直接说明他使用了黑色、白色和灰色的积木。
【26题详解】
根据第四段“He was deeply touched by a long comment praising the details of his horse.”,其中“praising the details”表示这个内容是在“称赞”他的作品细节,因此“comment”应意为“评论”。
【27题详解】
文章主要讲述了徐天意将乐高从“儿童的玩具”转变为传播中国文化的载体,第一段指出“most think it is only a toy for children. However, for 18-year-old Xu Tianyi... Lego is far more meaningful.”,因此“More Than a Toy for Children”概括了文章主旨。
C
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you step into his shoes and walk around in them.”
I asked Atticus if he was going to win the case.
“No, honey,” he said.
“Then why?”
“Simply because we were licked (鞭打) a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win,” he said. “In our courts (法院), when it’s a white man’s words against a black man’s, the white man always wins. They’re ugly, but those are the facts of life.”
“But why try, then?”
“Because,” he said, “there’s something in our world that makes men lose their heads — they can’t think clearly. They’re afraid, and when they’re afraid, they fight against each other. But you, Scout, you’re not afraid of people. You don’t judge them before you know them. That’s what makes you different.”
He stopped, looking out of the window.
“I’m going to defend (为……辩护) Tom Robinson. He’s an innocent (无辜的) man. And if I don’t, I couldn’t hold up my head in town. I couldn’t even tell you not to do something again.”
“But if you lose, won’t people hate you?”
“They might. But I’d rather be hated for doing what’s right than loved for doing nothing. You see, when you’re young, you think courage is about fighting. But real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.”
I didn’t say anything. I just sat there, thinking.
“And Scout,” he added softly, “if you ever get into trouble—and you will—remember this: the truth doesn’t always win, but it’s always worth telling.”
28. What can we infer about Atticus’s job from the passage?
A. A lawyer. B. A teacher. C. A policeman. D. A judge.
29. Why does Atticus say “we were licked a hundred years before we started”?
A. To show that he has already lost the case before it even begins.
B. To explain the unfairness that makes success nearly impossible.
C. To warn Scout that fighting against unfairness is actually useless.
D. To express his agreement to the way how laws work in his country.
30. What is the correct order of Atticus’ key points when talking to Scout?
① True courage is trying your best even if you know you will lose.
② Scout is a different person who doesn’t judge others easily.
③ He must defend Tom Robinson to keep his self-respect.
④ The truth is always worth telling, even if it doesn’t win.
A. ②→③→①→④ B. ③→②→①→④ C. ②→①→③→④ D. ①→②→③→④
31. Which student’s understanding of Atticus’ words is the most proper?
A. Lily: We should avoid arguments to keep people from hating us.
B. Mike: We should only fight for things that we are sure to win.
C. Emma: Doing what is right matters more than winning itself.
D. Ben: Courage means using physical power to stand up for others.
【答案】28. A 29. B 30. A 31. C
根据第9段Atticus所说“I’m going to defend Tom Robinson. He’s an innocent man.”,可知他是一名律师。
【29题详解】
Atticus所说的后半句“In our courts, when it’s a white man’s words against a black man’s, the white man always wins.”是对划线句子的句子阐述,说明当时社会的不公平,让胜诉几乎不可能。
【30题详解】
②对应第7段“But you, Scout, you’re not afraid of people. You don’t judge them before you know them. That’s what makes you different.”;③对应第9段“ I’m going to defend Tom Robinson.”;①对应第11段“But real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.”;④对应最后一段“…remember this: the truth doesn’t always win, but it’s always worth telling”。
【31题详解】
倒数第三段Atticus说“But I’d rather be hated for doing what’s right than loved for doing nothing.”,Emma的理解“做正确的事比赢得胜利本身更重要。”与之吻合。
D
Do you know Chongqing now has an exciting new place where people can meet the robots of tomorrow? The Chongqing Robot and AI Application Demonstration Center (重庆机器人AI应用展示中心) opened its doors on March 1st, 2026. Covering an area of 13,000 square meters, the center is being built in two periods and will finally be divided into five different technology areas. Its goal is simple: to help the public better understand advanced machines and to show the city’s dream of being a leader in high-end manufacturing (制造业).
On the first floor, visitors enter the world of industrial robots. These are the powerful machines commonly used in factories. A live show here is truly amazing to watch. Four large robots work together smoothly, moving metal parts in an assembly-line rhythm (装配线节奏). “These robots are common in workshops and on production lines, but they still seem new to many people,” a manager from the center explained. Seeing them up close helps visitors understand how Chongqing is using robots in important industries like car-making and electronics. Upstairs, the experience changes from heavy industry to hands-on fun. Visitors who book tickets in advance can join in exciting activities. You can play chess with a robot arm, take part in a small-size football match with moving robots, or chat with educational robots. There are also AI exam challenges to test your knowledge.
The center is especially popular with children. They can learn to control a cute “robot dog” to walk and lie down. A humanoid robot (类人型机器人) also gives live performances, doing kung fu that draws crowds of all ages. Besides these shows, there are stations that explain how robots and AI work in simple, easy-to-understand ways.
Since opening, the center has welcomed large crowds of visitors. It is still growing, with more exciting experiences on the way. A VR area is expected to open later this month, allowing visitors to step into imagined worlds. By the end of the month, a “robot cafe” will also be ready, where robots serve as waiters, offering a taste of what daily life with robots might look like in the future.
32. How does the writer begin this passage?
A. By showing facts. B. By asking a question.
C. By listing numbers. D. By telling a story.
33. Which example shows the use of industrial robots?
A. Moving metal parts smoothly in a ship-making factory.
B. Taking part in small-size football matches with children.
C. Dancing with different moves in the Spring Festival Gala.
D. Helping middle school students with homework by chatting.
34. What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A. To tell the visitors different types of industrial robots.
B. To encourage visitors to buy the humanoid robots to help.
C. To describe how Chongqing leads in high-end manufacturing.
D. To introduce a newly-open place of robots and AI application.
35. Which of the following can be filled in the blanks?
A. ① More Excitement on the Way; ② pride
B. ① Future of Educational Robots; ② surprise

The waiting time was shorter than usual so it allowed me to have more time to experience the culture. The visit was stress-free and I had a happy time with my mom.
— Xiao Mo, 13, a student
Case 2:
Our families camped near Banan District during the break. My son learned how to put up a tent and prepare meals outdoors. There was laughter and sweat. Though it was tiring, we felt relaxed and peaceful in nature. Also, it seemed we could get on better with each other than before after spending time together outdoors.

Imagine you’re in class, trying to listen to the teacher, but two classmates are chatting nearby. To keep your attention on the lesson, you have to keep out these distractions (干扰). This ability is called inhibition (抑制力).
Inhibition is your brain’s way of controlling actions and thoughts that you don’t need at the moment. It is key to doing well both in school and daily life. It keeps out unimportant things to help you stay focused and lets you pay attention to what really matters. It also helps control your actions and feelings, so you can stay calm when needed.
Inhibition is just like a party guard working in your brain. It has three main roles: access (准入), deletion (清除), and restraint (约束).
Access: At first, the guard only lets in people with tickets. The access role decides what information is important.
Deletion: After people enter, the guard may ask someone who is behaving badly to leave. This role helps take out distractions or unwanted behaviors.
Restraint: If someone is too loud or excited, the guard may tell them to calm down. The restraint role stops everything from getting out of control.
You can practice your inhibition easily. Create a quiet study place, use the five-second rule to control sudden wishes (Count 5-4-3-2-1 to yourself and immediately return to your task), or finish one small task before enjoying your phone or snacks, learning to put off immediate fun.
If you keep working on your inhibition, you will find it easier to focus and you’ll be able to learn better.
Inhibition is a very important ability. It helps people ____54____ by keeping out distractions and controlling their actions and feelings. 【答案】 例文:
Health First, Exercise Better
According to the survey, students show little interest in Big Break activities for different reasons. 76% of them think the same activities are boring. 10% feel exercise is tiring, and 9% are busy with their studies.
The most obvious reason is the boring activities. To solve the problem, I have some suggestions. First, schools should add more fun activities like dancing, rope jumping and small games. Second, we can encourage students to design their own activities. In this way, the students will take a more active part.
Exercise is of great importance to our health. Let’s enjoy sports and keep fit every day.

A. Life Journey of Xu Beihong B. Ink Wash Painting in China
C. More Than a Toy for Children D. Techniques in Horse Painting

Chongqing concluded (总结) its first spring break across different places, together with the three-day Qingming Festival holiday. Families took advantage of the period to visit museums, go camping and take part in educational programs.
Case 1:
During the spring break, I went on a visit with my mother to the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, Sichuan Province. To understand the history better, we followed a museum guide.

Inhibition has three roles: deciding what matters, taking out distractions and keeping everything ____55____. There are some ____56____ for people to practice inhibition. If people try to work on it, ____57____.
