The Pearl Class of Yingshan Middle School is a key charity project under the Pearl Retrieval Program launched by Zhejiang Xinhua Compassion Education Foundation. It specially recruits(招收) outstanding students from financially disadvantaged families, known as “Pearl Students”. The school exempts(免除) their tuition and accommodation fees, while the foundation provides living subsidies(补助金). With high-quality teachers, systematic moral education and gratitude cultivation, the class helps needy but diligent teenagers finish their high school studies smoothly, inspires them to strive for progress, and cultivates responsible, grateful and promising young people who will serve and give back to society in the future.

What can we teenagers do to make a difference to others or society?
Teenagers can do many simple but meaningful things to help others and improve society.
First, help people around you. We can care for classmates in need, offer help to the elderly, and volunteer in communities, such as cleaning public areas or taking care of stray animals.
Second, develop good daily habits. Save water and electricity, reduce plastic waste, and choose low-carbon lifestyles to protect the environment. Small green actions can ease pollution and benefit our community.
Third, spread kindness and positive energy. Be polite, respect others, and refuse bullying. We can also share warm stories and advocate gratitude and tolerance on social media.
Fourth, study hard and improve ourselves. Gaining knowledge and skills helps us grow into responsible citizens. In the future, we can contribute more to social development.
In short, everyone can make a difference. Even small efforts from teenagers can warm others and build a better society.
