We read different kinds of poems, fables, and fairy tales. I think poems are more interesting than stories because they use creative forms and a small number of words to express strong feelings. During our class, we read a beautiful Chinese poem called'Thoughts on a Tranquil Night" by the poet Li Bai. This poem is about missing home and it painted clear pictures in my mind. Here's the poem: Before my bed a pool of light— Can it be hoar frost on the ground? Looking up, I find the moon bright; Bowing, in homesickness I'm drowned. After learning about this special poem, my teacher encouraged us to try writing our own poems. At first, I tried to write about my favourite spot by the lake, but it was challenging. Instead, I wrote a poem about the months. Here it is: In April, come he will, In May, sing all day, In June, change his tune, In July, prepare to fly, In August, go he must!
