二次备课
Step 1. Lead-in
Activity: Warm-up Discussion
Ask students: "If you were stuck in a wildfire or snowstorm with your family, what would you do first?"
Step 2. Presentation
Activity 1: Analyze Story Introductions (4a)
Read the wildfire and snowstorm introductions aloud, then discuss. Highlight key language from the unit.
Activity 2: Explain Chain Story Rules
Outline the rules for the activity.
Groups choose either the wildfire or snowstorm introduction.
Keep the story coherent, using consistent tenses and time markers.
Step 3. Practice
Activity 1: Group Story Creation (4b)
Divide students into groups and assign each group a disaster. Give groups 10 minutes to build their chain story. Start with the provided introduction.
Activity 2: Refine the Story (4c)
Ask groups to review their story together, making edits for flow, tense consistency, and clarity.
Step 4. Production
Activity 1: Present Chain Stories
Invite each group to present their story to the class.
Vote for the "Best Chain Story" based on creativity, coherence, and use of unit language.
Activity 2: Reflecting on the Unit
Discuss the reflection questions as a class.
Conclude with the quote: "Nature is both a kind mother and a cold-blooded killer." Ask students to share their interpretation.
Step 5. Summary
Language Skills: We used past continuous, disaster vocabulary, and time markers to create vivid narratives.
Life Skills: We reflected on how to prepare for and respond to natural disasters.
Congratulate the group that won "Best Chain Story."
Step 6. Homework
Basic: Write a 3-sentence ending to your group's chain story, adding a final twist or lesson.
Improving: Create a poster for your story, including key scenes and vocabulary from the unit.
Advanced: Research a real wildfire or snowstorm and write a 6-sentence news report about it, using unit vocabulary.
Activate prior knowledge, build interest in the project, and connect to unit themes.
