【2026·江苏南通等苏北七市第二次模拟】
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
For as long as I can remember, I have found small talk problematic. It was boring at best and stressful at worst. A colleague commented on the weather, when I could see for myself that it was raining.
I worked in book publishing for years, where networking was essential. I could discuss authors, print runs or marketing budgets with ease. But asking how a buyer had travelled to the event? Or where a journalist had parked? I didn’t care! So why were these the conversations we were all having? Everyone else seemed at ease, while I felt on edge.
Every exchange felt like a performance, an evaluation I was sure I was failing. I didn’t understand the rules of engagement. For example, how long should small talk last? Should I answer honestly? I worried that my responses were either flat or manic(狂躁的), my questions barked out like an interrogator(审讯者).
Then came an unexpected encounter that changed everything. In early May, I attended the annual publishing gathering. I stood by the food table, holding a cup of wine and nodding with a tight smile to stop more conversation.
Then, the self-help author Wayne Dyer approached, calm and thoughtful, like a person who could find meaning in small things. He didn’t lead with the usual topics about the weather or my weekend. Instead, he glanced at the event copy I was holding and remarked, “I’ve always been struck by the cover art for this series. In your view, what really makes a cover work?” His tone was thoughtful and his gaze stayed on me. Caught off guard, I gave a real answer. We fell into a short, easy discussion about design and what drew a reader in. For once, the chat didn’t feel forced; it felt like an exchange. I felt listened to.
With a brief smile, he drifted away, leaving his words hanging in the air, “Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.”

【答案】
Inspired, I decided to try a new approach. When a colleague mentioned a long drive, I nodded and asked, “Was the audiobook any good? I’m always looking for a recommendation.” He blinked, and launched into an enthusiastic review of a history podcast series. In a meeting, instead of asking about someone’s weekend, I noted the hiking boots under the table and inquired, “Which trail broke those in?” The usually quiet designer grinned and shared stories about weekend summit hikes. Gradually, every exchange felt like a real connection rather than forced small talk. Wayne was right: it wasn’t about learning how to handle small talk, but about changing my relationship with it entirely.
Now small talk no longer causes me anxiety. By asking myself what I might genuinely want to know about a person, I feel engaged in every encounter. I’m not performing politeness; I’m following a thread of curiosity. I’m not simply filling the silence; I’m bridging it with real interest. To me, small talk feels like a door waiting to be opened. Looking back, I owe that transformation to Wayne. His simple yet profound advice doesn’t just help me survive small talk — it helps me find genuine connection in the most unexpected places.

(2026·黑龙江吉林·二模)In a small village in southern Turkey, 14-year-old Emre’s life changed forever when an earthquake struck in the middle of the night, reducing most of the village to ground zero, including the tiny library that had been Emre’s favorite place. He had spent countless afternoons there, reading adventure books and helping the librarian, Mr. Kaya, organize shelves.
In the days after the disaster, Emre wandered around, his heart heavy. He found the whole village in despair — the villagers wandered lifelessly among the ruins, their eyes empty of hope. When he reached the library site, he spotted a few books half-buried in the dust. He carefully brushed them clean and took them back home. That night, he had a dream: He was sitting in the library, surrounded by books, with Mr. Kaya smiling at him.
The next morning, Emre told his mother he wanted to rebuild the library. She looked at him sadly. “We barely have a roof over our heads, Emre,” she said, “How can we build a library?” But Emre refused to give up. Deep down, he knew his mission wasn’t just to rebuild a library — it was to give the village back its spirit, to turn their hopelessness into purpose. He went door to door, asking villagers if they had any books to donate. At first, no one believed a 14-year-old could change anything. They sighed, “The library is gone forever, just like our old lives.” “We need something to hold onto, more than ever!” he responded gently. “The library isn’t just wood and paper — it’s us, together again.” Emre’s earnestness eventually won them over. An elderly woman gave him a collection of poetry her husband had loved; a teacher donated a series of children’s storybooks.
Having heard about Emre’s plan, Mr. Kaya visited the boy, bringing the key to the old library. He put it into Emre’s hand, saying, “It’s yours now.” With Mr. Kaya’s guidance, Emre chose a small, undamaged room in the village square to act as the new library.

【答案】
News of Emre’s project spread across the whole village. More books began to pour in. Before long, he gathered enough for the room to be called a library. All the villagers started offering help: some brought tools; others volunteered to clear up; a carpenter built sturdy shelves for free; some girls hung colorful lanterns and placed a small flower pot by the door; Emre and his best friends spent weekends sorting books and painting the walls. The small room soon buzzed with life, chasing away the village’s despair.
After three months of hard work, the village library reopened. The opening day was filled with joy. Children sat on the floor reading, while adults chatted and flipped through books. The laughter that day was the first genuine joy the village had felt since the earthquake. Emre looked around at the people enjoying the new library. He didn’t have grand words to explain why this little room mattered, but he knew it did. It was where his village came alive again and a symbol of hope and proof that unity and hopefulness can rebuild what’s lost.

(2026·广东清远·二模)To me, my older sister Serena was simply the person who always occupied the bathroom when I needed it most. Three years older than me, she seemed to live in a different world — one filled with college plans, long nights of study, and an appearance of calm confidence that made adults trust her without question. At home, however, she was ordinary. She left her half-empty cup on the counter and took away my things without permission. So annoyed was I that I kept my distance.
I only knew that she worked evenings at a youth center downtown. Yet Serena rarely mentioned volunteer hours or shared stories. She would come home late, drop her bag by the stairs, and disappear upstairs before I had time to wonder what her days were really like.
Then one spring evening, a storm swept through our town. Wind beat against the windows. Rain rushed down the streets, turning the gutters(排水沟)into narrow rivers. The power went out before dinner, and the kitchen fell into darkness, lit only by a small battery-powered lamp on the counter. Shadows jumped along the walls as Serena paced back and forth, checking her phone again and again. Messages from the youth center kept coming. The basement was flooding. Families poured into the center, carrying bags and restless children, and there simply weren’t enough volunteers to help them all.
Without hesitation, Serena simply pulled on her jacket and reached for the door, as if this decision had already been made somewhere deep inside her. My own worries — my grades, missed deadlines, ranking lists — suddenly felt thin and unreal, like pieces of paper left out in the rain. Before I could stop myself, I stood up and followed her to the door. Serena hesitated for a moment, then nodded, relief quietly settling over her face. We got into the car, and she drove slowly through the flooded streets until the youth center appeared ahead, a small brick building lit up against the darkness.

(2026·浙江绍兴·二模)When my art teacher Ms. Lopez invited me to join the after-school painting club, I shook my head firmly, filled with shyness and deep self-doubt. “Thank you, but I’m not creative at all,” I mumbled, staring at the floor to avoid her kind eyes. “I can only draw clumsy stick figures, and I’m sure I’ll embarrass myself in front of the other talented students.” Ms. Lopez chuckled softly, patted my shoulder, and handed me a new sketchbook(素描本). “Creativity isn’t about perfect pictures,” she said patiently. “It’s about expressing your true feelings. Just give one class a try.”
Unwillingly, I agreed, and my nervousness peaked at the first meeting. The art room walls were covered with amazing works — vivid sunsets, lifelike cats, and delicate portraits. I slipped into a corner, gripping my pencil so tight that my knuckles(指关节)whitened. Staring at the blank page, I dared not draw a single line, fearing the students would laugh at my unskilled work and simple ideas.
Ms. Lopez noticed my anxiety and sat beside me quietly. “What makes you feel truly happy and relaxed?” she asked softly. “My grandma’s apple orchard,” I replied instantly. “I go there every weekend and love everything about it, especially the old apple tree and the little sparrows.” “Then draw that,” she encouraged. “Forget the rules — just paint how that place makes you feel inside.”
Taking a deep breath, I started sketching the old apple tree I loved so much. I drew its thick branches stretching toward the sky and a tiny sparrow perched on one limb, singing happily. When I finished, Ms. Lopez held up my sketch proudly. “This work has so much heart!” she said warmly. The class broke into applause, and Mia, the girl sitting beside me, whispered softly, “The sparrow looks so alive and lovely!” However, I could still see that it was far from perfect with uneven lines.

Paragraph 2:
That weekend, I went to grandma's orchard with my sketchbook. __________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
Inspired by their encouragement, I decided to keep painting the orchard. Every day after school, I would sit in my room, patiently practicing straight and smooth lines and sketching the apple trees, the bees, and the sunset over the orchard. I experimented with watercolors, mixing different shades of green and red. Though my initial attempts were awkward, I remained determined. Ms. Lopez checked on my progress weekly, giving me tips on how to blend colors and add depth. Mia, the girl from the club, even shared her watercolor set with me. With each stroke, I slowly gained confidence, and my fear of being“not creative” faded.
That weekend, I went to grandma’s orchard with my sketchbook. It was autumn, and the trees were laden with red apples. Surrounded by the familiar sights and scents I loved so deeply, I just painted what my heart felt. Grandma was busy picking apples when she spotted me painting. She approached silently, not wanting to interrupt. When I finished, I showed her the painting — a vibrant depiction of the orchard with her standing under a big apple tree. (2026·重庆九龙坡·二模)My father was a man of the ocean, a retired captain who believed that the salt water could cure anything from a common cold to a broken spirit. I, however, was his complete opposite. While he found peace in the rhythmic crashing of waves, I found only a terrifying vastness that made my heart race. To me, the sea was an unpredictable monster.
For my 18th birthday, Dad insisted on a “man-to-man” fishing trip on our old wooden boat “The Seeker”. He wanted to pass on his passion before I left for college. I reluctantly agreed, not wanting to disappoint him. As we sailed miles away from the coast, Dad was in high spirits, teaching me how to cast the line. He especially pointed to the radio on the dashboard, reminding me, “If the sea ever gets angry, Elias, this radio is your lifeline to the shore.” He even taught me how to tie a “bowline knot”, a knot that never slips.
However, our quiet rhythm was soon broken. By mid-afternoon, the horizon turned a dark purple. A sudden, violent wind swept across the water with a speed that caught even my father off guard. The waves, once gentle, transformed into giant walls of grey water, striking heavily against “The Seeker”.
Then, disaster struck. A loud crack echoed through the howling wind — the engine had died, choked by some floating rubbish. We were powerless, drifting deeper into the angry heart of the storm. Fear, cold and sharp, froze me. I watched my father struggle to fix the engine. “Elias, stay back!” he shouted, “And remember, the first-aid kit is right under the captain’s seat!” he yelled over the roar .But before I could move, a massive wave rocked the boat fiercely. Dad lost his footing, his head hitting the metal railing hard before he collapsed onto the deck(甲板). Blood began to run down his forehead as he lay motionless on the deck.

(2026·广东广州·二模)Last summer, we moved into a beautiful house where sunlight flooded the kitchen every morning. The only downside was the backyard: behind tall, messy bushes lay an old pond, dry and smelly. “Let’s bring it back to life!” I suggested. My parents smiled and agreed.
It became our family’s summer project. We cleaned out the mud and lined the edge with pretty stones. At the garden shop, I chose cattails and water lilies. “They float like little umbrellas,” Mum said. “Yes,” I replied proudly, “and they keep the water cool and clean.” Then came the best part: two tiny goldfish — Spotty and Sparkly.
I also asked about a pond heater. I’d read that if the pond froze solid in winter, the fish would run out of oxygen. They needed a small hole in the ice to breathe, which a heater could keep open. But they were sold out. As we left, I noticed a poster listing clever ideas to prevent ice from sealing(封住)the pond — for example, keeping the water moving, since flowing water doesn’t freeze easily. I thought we’d get a heater long before winter, so I didn’t think much of them.
Soon, baby fish appeared! Frogs and butterflies often visited too. Our pond felt like a living ecosystem.
Then one evening, the weather report warned of an early freeze — colder and sooner than usual. My stomach dropped. We still didn’t have a heater! Dad immediately ordered one online. “It’ll arrive before the ice forms,” he promised.
Early the next morning, I woke to a world covered in white. I threw on my coat and ran to the pond. It was frozen with clear ice — no open water! Yet I could still see the fish moving slowly beneath.
I rushed back inside. Dad had already called the delivery company, but they said it wouldn’t arrive today because of the icy roads. “The fish can only last half a day without fresh air!” I cried.
“Let’s think of something now,” Mum said.

So we started brainstorming ideas together. Dad remembered the poster I’d seen at the garden shop. “Flowing water doesn’t freeze easily,” he said. “But how can we make the water flow?” I wondered. Mum looked around the garage and found an old fountain pump. “Maybe this can work,” she said. We quickly connected the pump to a long tube and placed it in the pond. But when we turned it on, nothing happened. The pump was too old and broken. Just as we were about to give up, I had an idea. “What if we use a stick to break the ice and keep the water moving by hand?”
By nine o’clock, we had built a simple device to keep a hole open in the ice. I tied a long stick to a small plank, creating a kind of paddle. Dad and I took turns gently pushing the plank through the ice-covered water. Mum monitored the fish, making sure they were okay. Every few minutes, we chipped away at the ice around the edges of the hole we’d created. As the day went on, the hole stayed open, and the fish seemed to be breathing easier. When the heater finally arrived the next day, we installed it right away. But that day of working together to save our fish was a memory I’d always cherish.

(2026·广东茂名·二模)Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is more than just a scenic town. It is a place defined by a unique spirit of community, where artists, musicians, and people from all walks of life come together, creating an atmosphere of support and kindness. This sense of belonging is what makes Asheville special, a home where people look out for one another.
In 2005, Molly and Tom Smith made an adventurous attempt, moving from busy San Francisco to Asheville with their young daughter, Aria. The transition was challenging. Shortly after arriving, feeling uncertain, they attended a local folk festival. Molly watched as little Aria immediately ran to hug another girl, and the two spent the evening dancing freely in the diverse crowd. “They spent the entire night dancing in each other’s arms,” Molly remembered. “Surrounding them was a community square dance. I thought, this is why we’re here.” This warmth made them determined to stay.
The kindness they experienced as newcomers was heartwarming. When they faced challenges of settling down, neighbors they had just met showed up unasked to help them unpack boxes and shared home-cooked meals. This warm welcome made Molly feel she had found a true home. Inspired by this supportive environment, the Smiths eventually opened an Indian restaurant, Chai Pani, which became a beloved local spot. And it was their way of contributing to the town that had embraced(接纳)them.
For nearly two decades, life in Asheville was peaceful. But on September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene struck. The storm hit with terrible wind and heavy rain, turning gentle streams into wild rivers that destroyed homes and roads. Asheville awoke to absolute ruin. Trees and power lines were down everywhere. The once lively River Arts District was submerged(淹没)under 20 feet of water. All facilities — power, cell service, running water — were gone. The town was completely cut off from the outside world. However, the Smiths’ restaurant, Chai Pani, survived.

Their restaurant transformed into a vital hub — a temporary shelter, a distribution point for scarce supplies, and a beacon of hope where people could reconnect and find emotional support in the aftermath of the storm.
Encouraged by the Smiths’ generosity, other people took actions as well. Neighbors organized small teams to clear impassable roads, share precious resources, and check on vulnerable individuals. Others set up makeshift community centers, collecting donations and offering first aid. This outpouring of unity stressed Asheville’s unwavering spirit, demonstrating that even when physically shattered, its heart of mutual support and kindness remained unbroken, ready to collectively pave a path to recovery.

(2026·安徽蚌埠·二模)My father became my only guardian after my mother passed away. Chatting with others helped ease his deep sadness. Every morning, he would go to his beloved local donut(甜甜圈)shop, where he always started warm conversations with the people there. When we left, along with the bear claw pastry in a small box, there was always a chocolate-covered donut prepared just for me. On the ride in Dad’s truck, my little task was to hold Dad’s coffee between my knees, to stop it from spilling on the way.
As time went by and I grew up, that donut shop became a special place for us to celebrate all kinds of my achievements. Even if I didn’t win or get a ranking, Dad would still take me there. Finally, I grew into an adult and moved out of Dad’s house. On my wedding day, Dad handed me a small gift box. Inside it was a tiny chocolate-covered donut. My heart was deeply moved, melting faster than the chocolate frosting would in a hot oven.
In October 1989, Dad was told he had incurable cancer. We lived an ocean apart, so our visits were very rare. A year later, I was hurt in an attack, and had to receive three back surgeries in hospital. Dad’s cancer had developed so badly that his body could barely support him. But he ignored the doctor’s orders, and flew to the hospital to comfort me. His weak body leaned over my chest, his thin arms hugging me tightly, saying how much he wished he could take my place.
As the nurses prepared me for surgery, I saw Dad’s face cloud over with worry. They wheeled me out of the room and into the operating room. When I woke up, I was back in my hospital room, lying in bed alone. There was nobody around. As I reached for the telephone to call Dad, I saw a paper plate on the bedside table, holding a chocolate-covered donut.

【答案】
The cancer took Dad away just a few days after he left my bedside. I later learned from the nurses that, despite his unbearable cancer pain and extreme physical weakness, he had wandered the cold, unfamiliar streets around the hospital for hours that day, just to find a shop selling the familiar chocolate-covered donut. He never breathed a word of his worsening condition to me, hiding all his agony and fear behind that sweet treat. That donut became his final silent confession of love, locking all our warmest shared memories into every crumb of the soft pastry and glossy chocolate frosting.
Years later, every time I pass by a donut shop, I always stop to buy a chocolate-covered donut. The moment the sweet chocolate melts on my tongue, I’m instantly transported back to those sunny mornings in Dad’s old truck, the warm coffee steady between my knees, and his soft smile as he handed me the specially prepared donut. It’s never just a snack to me; it’s a timeless hug from Dad, a quiet reminder that his unwavering love has never left my side. It gives me endless courage to get through every hard day, just like he did when he flew to my hospital bed against all odds.

(2026·浙江金华·二模)My husband’s company promoted him and relocated us to New York City. We found a safe, affordable place to live. Once we got settled in, I was determined to find employment. After a few days of searching and applying, I was fortunate to find a job as an administrative assistant with Young & Rubicam, a famous advertising agency. I wasn’t thrilled about the job because I had graduated with a degree to teach English, but the pay was good, and the extra money was a blessing.
The job was rather dull, though, mainly typing letters, answering phones, setting up for conferences, filing, scheduling meetings, arranging travel for the copywriters(撰稿人), etc. I felt that what I was doing was insignificant. As letters or travel brochures would come across my desk to be typed, I would read over them. Often, there were grammatical errors or the spelling was not always accurate, but since it wasn’t my job to correct them, I typed them as they were given to me.
One day, I was talking to my grandmother, LouOlive Graham. Anyone not related to her called her Lou. Everybody else, including all twelve of her children and fifteen grandchildren, called her “Muh”. Muh was a wise woman lady. Her children adored and admired her. There was nothing better than to spend a day with Muh, which meant you were going to hear fascinating stories about her growing up, while savoring her tea and cakes.
Over tea, I said, “Muh, you should see the things that come across my desk — letters, memos, and brochures with crazy grammar, poor spelling, and awkward sentences. But I guess it’s not my job to correct them.” Then, I added that I only did what they paid me to do.
Muh listened attentively, as she always did, and after I finished, she said very calmly, “Honey, don’t just do enough to get by. Always do your best work. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. You may find more enjoyment in the job if you do your best. Plus, it never hurts you to let people know that you can do more than what they hired you to do.”

I thought long and hard about what she said. The next day at work, I began proofreading every document that came my way, correcting grammatical errors and awkward sentences before typing them. When my supervisor noticed the improved quality, she raised an eyebrow with pleasant surprise. From then on, I took pride in producing work that was not just acceptable but excellent. I even started offering suggestions for phrasing in the travel brochures, which the copywriters appreciated. Gradually, the dull job became engaging. Muh was right — doing my best transformed my attitude and work experience entirely.
The next year, a position became available for an assistant copywriter. To my surprise, my supervisor approached me before the job was even posted. “I’ve been impressed by your work,” she said. “Your writing skills and attention to detail rival those of our copywriters.” She encouraged me to apply, and I did. When I got the offer, the first person I called was Muh. Her warm voice carried a hint of pride: “See, honey? Doing your best never goes unnoticed.” I smiled, grateful for her wisdom that had guided me from doing just enough to becoming truly valued.

(2026·重庆·二模)The afternoon of July 9, 2020, had moved slowly, the way summer days do in Cheyenne. Sunlight fell through the maple leaves in scattered patches, and the air smelled of freshly cut grass and distant rain.
Six-year-old Bridger Walker was chasing his four-year-old sister around the backyard. She wore a yellow dress that flashed bright as she ran, her bare feet touching the grass, her dark hair streaming behind her. They had been playing tag(捉人游戏)for nearly an hour, and Bridger had let her win twice, laughing as she boasted about her victory. Their mother, visible through the kitchen window, was assembling peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on a wooden cutting board, occasionally glancing up with that peaceful expression parents wear when the world holds still for a moment.
The backyard was surrounded by a weathered wooden fence that had stood for twenty years, its paint coming off in soft gray curls. Beyond it, the neighbor’s German Shepherd usually slept in the shade, a chain-link barrier keeping the worlds separate.
But that afternoon, something had shifted. The dog had been bothered by the heat, by the children’s shouts, by some private issues no one would ever know. It threw itself against the fence once, twice, and on the third impact, the rotted wood gave way with a sharp crack. The dog — eighty pounds of muscle and sudden fury — burst through and ran straight for the little girl in yellow. Bridger's sister stopped mid-step, one foot still in the air, her face pale, her small hands rising as if to push away what was coming. Bridger felt his heart beating wildly. He saw his sister's frozen face, saw the dog’s teeth, and moved.

Without hesitation, Bridger threw himself between the dog and his sister. He spread his arms wide, making himself a wall of bone and skin. The dog’s teeth closed on his face — once, twice — ripping and tearing. Pain exploded through his cheek, but he did not move. He stood his ground, taking every blow meant for the girl behind him. His sister screamed his name. He wanted to look back, to tell her to run, but he dared not turn away. Then his mother burst through the back door, shouting, grabbing a broom from the porch, driving the animal back with wild swings. The dog retreated. Bridger collapsed to his knees, blood streaming down his neck, his vision swimming. His sister rushed forward, throwing her arms around his waist. “You saved me,” she sobbed into his shirt. He tried to smile. Everything went dark.
In the ambulance, his sister’s small hand found his and would not let go. Sirens screamed through the streets of Cheyenne, but Bridger heard only her voice, repeating his name like a prayer. In the hospital, doctors closed his wounds with ninety stitches. His sister waited outside, refusing to leave until they let her see him. When he finally came home, she brought him a T-shirt — Captain America’s shield glowing red and blue — and a drawing she had made while he slept. She had drawn herself small in her yellow dress. Before her stood her brother, taller, a fresh line across his cheek, one arm stretched wide behind him, the other holding a shield that faced the world. Below, in letters that wobbled and tilted, she had written: My hero.

(2026·山西运城·二模)Team captain Gani Catan had never imagined that one day he would perform first aid — not on a teammate, but on a small seagull(海鸥). Yet that was exactly what happened on a sunny afternoon in Istanbul.
Gani loved football more than anything. Ever since he was a boy, he dreamed of playing in big matches and leading his team to victory. As captain of Istanbul Yurdum Spor, he had already helped his team reach the final of the Istanbul 1st Amateur League Play-Off Final — a game that could earn them promotion to a higher division. He trained hard every day, running fast, passing accurately, and building strong teamwork. This match meant everything.
The stadium was full of excited fans. As the match kicked off, the two teams played with great intensity, both fighting for control. The ball flew back and forth across the field, with each side launching fierce attacks. Gani was at the heart of the action, leading his teammates with energy and determination. He made precise passes, prevented the opponent’s attacks, and even had a few shots on goal.
However, in the 22nd minute, an unexpected incident occurred. The goalkeeper, Muhammet Uyanik, launched the ball away from his penalty area(罚球区). He kicked it high into the air. Suddenly, just as the ball rose, a seagull flew across the field. Unfortunately, the bird was hit. The bird fell to the ground with a thud(砰的一声), lying motionless.
All that happened was beyond the players’ expectation. They stopped at once. Silence spread across the field. Gani was the first to reach the seagull. He could see that the bird was unresponsive and seemed to be struggling to breathe. Without a moment’s hesitation, he knelt down beside the seagull.

【答案】
Using basic first-aid knowledge he had picked up, Gani decided to take action. He gently placed his thumb and forefinger on the bird’s chest and began pressing its chest. For about two minutes, he kept going, his eyes fixed on the little creature. As he continued, he began to see movement return to the bird’s legs and eyes. Gradually, the seagull started responding again. The other players brought water over, and Gani carefully gave the bird a few sips. Once the seagull seemed a bit stronger, Gani and his teammates carried it carefully to the medical staff.
The medical staff praised Gani for his quick thinking and brave actions. Although the match ultimately ended in defeat for Istanbul Yurdum Spor, costing them the championship title, Gani didn’t let the result define the day. “We missed out on the championship, but helping save a life is a good thing,” he said. “This was more important than the championship.” He had never expected to save a bird’s life on the football field. He realized that sometimes, the most meaningful moments in life come from unexpected places. This experience taught him that compassion and kindness are more valuable than any title.
