There are forty students in my class, and all of them exercise for an hour every day. It's a good habit and good for our health. Besides, ninety percent of the students drink milk every day, and eighty five percent of the students sleep for eight to nine hours every night. Those are also good habits. However, there are still seventy percent of the students who eat junk food and drink coffee every day. It's bad for our health. I think we should keep on these good habits and give up bad habits. If we do so, I think we will be healthier and happier. Last week, I did a survey on students living habits in our class. Here are the results. It was a winter evening in 2024. Mr. Chen, a 72-year-old
blind man, tied his thick scarf tightly(紧紧地) and lit an old
lantern. The cold air hurt his skin as he prepared to walk
home from the village market. His neighbor, Li Wei, watched from her
door, looking puzzled.

“Uncle Chen,” she said softly, “Why carry a lantern if you can’t see?”
The old man turned with a kind smile. “This light isn’t for me. In
the dark, others might not see my walking stick. It helps them avoid
running into me. And maybe it can show someone else the way home
too.” Li Wei thought about his words as he stepped onto the icy road.
Soon, the lantern’s light showed a small figure hiding under a snow-
covered tree. “Grandpa!” a crying voice shouted. “I lost my mommy!”

The shaking five-year-old held Mr. Chen’s hand. They had walked only
ten meters when a strong wind blew out the flame.
The girl was scared, but Mr. Chen stayed calm. Feeling his way to
some bushes(灌木丛), he found a dry stick with his experienced hands.
Taking a small stone from his pocket, he made sparks(火花) until the dry
leaves caught fire. The girl watched in surprise.
“How do you do that without seeing?” she whispered.

They kept walking until they heard a woman’s worried shouts. The
happy meeting between mother and child made everyone around them
moved. That night, lanterns shone in every window of the village. Li
Wei finally understood: real light comes from a kind heart, not from
eyes that can see.

Bats are very special animals that are different from

Bats are the only mammals that can truly fly. Their wings are made
of a thin piece of skin that spreads between their long fingers. This
special build allows them to fly freely in the sky. Unlike birds, bats fly
at night and they are active when it gets dark.
One of the most amazing things about bats is their ability to use
echolocation(回声定位). Echolocation is like a natural radar(雷达) system.
When bats fly, they make sounds that humans can’t usually hear. These
sounds reflect off objects in the air, like insects or trees, and then come

back to the bats. By listening to the echoes(回声), bats can know where
things are, how far away they are, and even what they are. This helps
them find food in the dark.
Bats have different eating habits. Some bats eat fruits and sweet
juice from flowers. They are important for helping flowers produce seeds,
just like bees. When they drink sweet juice from flowers, they carry
pollen(花粉) from one flower to another, which helps plants to make new
ones. Other bats eat insects. A single bat can eat hundreds of insects in

just one night. This is very helpful for farmers because insects can harm
plants. By eating insects, bats help control the insect population and
protect our food.
However, bats are facing some problems. As people cut down more
and more forests to build houses and farms, bats are losing their homes.
Additionally, some people are afraid of bats and kill them.
In conclusion, bats are fascinating creatures with many special abilities.
We need to understand and protect them so that they can keep on playing
their important roles in nature.#2.5

That’s all. Thank you for listening!
I’m glad to share the time management of my weekend with you.
Firstly, I spend at least three hours studying, such as reviewing
lessons from last week and doing my homework. Secondly, I do
exercise for more than one hour to help me keep fit and reduce
pressure. Besides, it usually takes me two hours to do some
housework like doing some cleaning and cooking a meal. Finally, I
use the rest of the time to do what I am interested in.
By managing time properly, I find my weekend more colorful
and meaningful. I hope we all can make good use of our weekends.
