I am writing to recommend what I think is the most useful invention — the smartphone. The first true smartphone was invented by Apple company in 2007. Its main function is to let people communicate wirelessly, but it can do much more than that.

 

Before smartphones, people had to carry a camera, a map, a music player, and a phone separately. If you got lost, you had to ask strangers for directions. If you wanted to take a photo, you needed a heavy camera. Now, with a smartphone, we can do all these things with just one small device. For example, we can video call our parents when we are away.
