For each day of Black History Month, LaToya McGriff has dressed up like a famous African-American pioneer (先驱) and taught her students about their significant contributions to the U.S. On Monday, February 3, she dressed up as the Virginian native Mary Jackson and began her creative class. “She was a mathematician who worked as an aeronautical (航空的) engineer whom people referred to as a human computer,” McGriff wrote on Facebook. She shared a photo of herself in the 1960s clothing, like Jackson would have worn when she worked for NASA. Jackson was one of the three “human computers” described in the book and film Hidden Figures, which showed the African-American female mathematicians whose efforts helped put men on the moon. Once McGriff started dressing up, she kept going. By February 18, McGriff’s Black History Month lessons were starting to gain attention online. She was interviewed by CBS News. She said that the seeds for this project were planted in her years ago by a teacher who did something similar. “That’s what I remember — having a teacher come dressed as a storybook character. Well, I could dress up as a different figure, an African-American figure from the past or present so they can see themselves represented,” McGriff said. “My students will want to know who I will be tomorrow, because they want to know and prepare themselves for it so that they can tell me something they know about the person,” she said. McGriff said bringing history alive kept her students curious and asking questions, and she’s hoping the overall project would give them the confidence to know that, like these historic figures, they can be great, too. 4. What did LaToya McGriff do to teach black history? A. She took students to meet famous black people. B. She dressed up as black pioneers for her lessons. C. She asked students to act as historic black figures. D. She watched movies about black mathematicians. 5. What is paragraph 5 mainly about? A. Why McGriff started the dress-up project. B. How McGriff got along with her students. C. McGriff’s experience of learning black history. D. McGriff’s teacher’s creative teaching methods. 6. Which of the following best describes McGriff’s students from the last two paragraphs? A. They are energetic and determined to face challenges. B. They are curious and eager to learn new things. C. They are creative and good at coming up with original ideas. D. They are careful and focused on difficult tasks. 7. Why is McGriff carrying out the project? A. To help her students achieve higher scores in exams. B. To introduce Black History Month to her students. C. To encourage her students to trust themselves to do better. D. To highlight big figures’ contributions to the U. S. 【答案】4. B 5. A 6. B 7. 根据第一段中的“For each day of Black History Month, LaToya McGriff has dressed up like a famous African-American pioneer (先驱) and taught her students about their significant contributions to the U.S. (在黑人历史月的每一天,拉托亚·麦格里夫都会装扮成著名的非裔美国先驱,为学生讲授他们对美国的重大贡献。)”可知,这位老师通过装扮成黑人历史先驱开展课堂教学,讲解黑人历史。 【5题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第五段中的“She said that the seeds for this project were planted in her years ago by a teacher who did something similar.(她说,多年前一位老师的相似做法,在她心中埋下了开展该项目的种子。)” 根据第六段的““My students will want to know who I will be tomorrow, because they want to know and prepare themselves for it so that they can tell me something they know about the person,” she said.(她说:“学生们每天都会好奇我第二天会扮演谁。他们会主动了解相关人物、提前做好准备,只为能和我分享自己熟知的人物故事。”)”以及尾段的“McGriff said bringing history alive kept her students curious and asking questions, and she’s hoping the overall project would give them the confidence to know that, like these historic figures, they can be great, too. (麦克格里夫表示,让历史鲜活起来能让学生保持好奇心、主动提问,她希望整个项目能帮助孩子们建立自信,明白自己也能像这些历史人物一样成就不凡。)”可知,学生们好奇心强,渴望了解新知识、主动探究学习内容。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“McGriff said bringing history alive kept her students curious and asking questions, and she’s hoping the overall project would give them the confidence to know that, like these historic figures, they can be great, too. (麦克格里夫表示,让历史鲜活起来能让学生保持好奇心、主动提问,她希望整个项目能帮助孩子们建立自信,明白自己也能像这些历史人物一样成就不凡。)”可知,开展该项目的目的是鼓励学生树立自信、努力变得更好。 C The greeting from chatbots (聊天机器人) took me by surprise: “Hey, you.” I was expecting a “hello” or “hi” statements of simple recognition. “Hey, you.” was more knowing, more familiar. Say it in a crowd, and you place yourself and the other person in a comfortable kind of bubble. It’s personal. But it came from a chatbot. “Another day, another chat, right?” it continued, offering a small change to an old expression. Praised for its speech, it responded modestly, “What can I say?” You could almost imagine it holding out its hands with palms up and giving a shy smile. The conversational tone (声调) is almost strange. Your chatbot sounds more human. However, people are beginning to adapt to how chatbots speak and write and communicate. The study analysed over 360,000 YouTube videos and 770,000 podcast (播客) clips released before and after the launch (发布) of ChatGPT. Words like “meticulous” and “boast” have become more frequent in human speech. One particular word, “delve”, stood out as a repeated term and has been described as a kind of “linguistic watermark” (语言水印) of AI’s growing presence in spoken communication. The researchers call these “GPT words” and suggest that humans are memorising them and using them in everyday speech more than ever before. When SMS (短信) first came, it changed the way we talk. Unlike writing paragraph-length responses, we started talking in just a few words due to the character limit. This led many of us to develop a habit of speaking with fewer words, and it continued from there. Now, while humans are feeding AI models, it turns out that we are not just teaching robots, we are also copying from them. It’s natural for humans to imitate (模仿) one another but we’re now imitating machines. 8. What can be learned about chatbots from paragraph 1? A. They only use simple greetings like“hello” and“hi”. B. They can use warm and personal expressions to greet users. C. They are difficult for most people to communicate with. D. They show little interest in talking with human beings. 9. Why does the author mention the chatbot’s response“What can I say?”? A. To show its modesty and human-like tone. B. To prove its ability to create new expressions. C. To highlight its lack of original ideas. D. To criticize its overuse of old sayings. 10. What can we know about “GPT words” according to the study? A. People began to use them after the study was carried out. B. They are unique words that can be found in AI chat messages. C. Their increased frequency shows AI’s growing impact on human speech. D. People prefer them so much that they no longer use old expressions. 11. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. AI: A New Trend in Daily Communication B. Humans Are Starting to Talk Like Chatbots C. Chatbots’ Special Greeting and Humor D. Imitation: A Basic Human Communication Skill 【答案】8. B 9. A 10. C 11. 根据第一段中的““Hey, you.” was more knowing, more familiar. Say it in a crowd, and you place yourself and the other person in a comfortable kind of bubble. It’s personal. (“嘿,你。”这种表达更加贴心、更加亲切。在人群中说出这句话,会让自己和对方处于一种舒适的氛围中,极具个人色彩。)”可知,聊天机器人会使用温暖且贴合个人的表达向用户问候。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Praised for its speech, it responded modestly, “What can I say?” You could almost imagine it holding out its hands with palms up and giving a shy smile. The conversational tone (声调) is almost strange. Your chatbot sounds more human. (因表达受到称赞时,它谦逊地回复:“我能说什么呢?”你几乎可以想象它张开双手,掌心朝上,露出羞涩的微笑。这种对话语气有些别扭。你的聊天机器人听起来更像真人。)”可知,作者提及该回答,是为了展现聊天机器人的谦逊与类人化交谈语气。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“One particular word, “delve”, stood out as a repeated term and has been described as a kind of “linguistic watermark” (语言水印) of AI’s growing presence in spoken communication. The researchers call these “GPT words” and suggest that humans are memorising them and using them in everyday speech more than ever before. (一个特定单词“delve”被频繁使用,它被看作人工智能在口语交流中影响力不断扩大的一种语言水印。研究人员将这类词汇称为GPT词汇,并指出人们记住这类词汇,且比以往更频繁地用于日常交流。)”可知,GPT类词汇使用频率上升,标志着人工智能对人类口语表达的影响持续增强。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是最后一段中的“Now, while humans are feeding AI models, it turns out that we are not just teaching robots, we are also copying from them. It’s natural for humans to imitate (模仿) one another but we’re now imitating machines. (如今人类在训练人工智能模型的过程中,不只是在教导机器,同时也在模仿机器。人类互相模仿是天性,而现在人们开始模仿人工智能。)”可知,文章围绕AI语言特点、AI词汇渗透生活、人类模仿AI说话方式展开,核心讲述人类的交流语言正逐渐变得和聊天机器人相似,因此“Humans Are Starting to Talk Like Chatbots(人类开始说话越来越像聊天机器人)”最贴合文章主旨,适合作为本文标题。 D If you search for SingingDog on social media, you will see many short videos of dogs howling (嚎叫) along to music they like. But do these dogs really understand music? Psychologist Aniruddh Patel from Tufts University and his team wanted to find out. Their new study shows that some dogs can actually notice changes in pitch (音高) and change their howls to match. The researchers got the idea from watching wolves howl together. In the wild, each wolf seems to try to use a different tone. This creates a messy chorus that makes the group sound bigger and can scare away enemies. Some wolf experts think wolves pay attention and change their pitch on purpose, but this is hard to test. So Patel’s team decided to study pet dogs. They asked dog owners to record their dogs howling to their favorite songs. First, they recorded the dogs howling to the original song. Then, they recorded them howling to versions of the song that were made higher and lower in pitch. This was to see how the dogs reacted to the changes. The team focused on two old dog breeds, Samoyeds and Shiba Inus, which are thought to be more closely related to their wolf ancestors than modern dogs. To make the results more reliable, each dog had to howl at least 30 times (each howl at least 1 second long) for each version of the song. All four Samoyeds in the study showed they could sense the pitch of the music. They consistently (持续地) changed their howls to match the new key, though not perfectly.“They are trying to connect their own voice to what they hear, rather than just letting out a fixed, natural response,” said Patel. In contrast, the two Shiba Inus seemed unable to tell the differences in tone. Patel noted that genetic differences between these ancient breeds might make some dogs more likely to adjust their howls than others. These findings may help us understand how human music began. Some experts believe human singing developed from the mouth control needed for speech. However, the fact that dogs can control their pitch without learning to speak suggests that language may not have been a necessary first step for musical ability. 12. Why did the researchers play pitch-shifted songs to the dogs? A. To test their preference for different musical tones. B. To see how they could change howls with pitch changes. C. To compare the musical tastes of two dog breeds. D. To check if they could follow the beat of the music. 13. What made the researchers choose Samoyeds and Shiba Inus? A. They are good at howling in different tones. B. They respond more actively to human music. C. Their owners offered to take part in the study. D. They are genetically closer to wolves than other dogs. 14. What does the underlined word “breeds” in paragraph 5 mean? A. Types. B. Generations. C. Habitats. D. Ranks. 15. What can we infer from the last paragraph? A. It has been proved that dogs actually have true musical talent. B. Some experts believe human music originated from dog howling. C. Dogs in the study were able to tell the differences between tones perfectly. D. Human language and musical ability may have developed independently. B 13. D 14. A 15. 根据第四段中的“Then, they recorded them howling to versions of the song that were made higher and lower in pitch. This was to see how the dogs reacted to the changes.(之后,研究人员播放音调被调高和调低的歌曲并录制狗狗的嚎叫,以此观察狗狗对音高变化的反应。)” 根据第五段中的“The team focused on two old dog breeds, Samoyeds and Shiba Inus, which are thought to be more closely related to their wolf ancestors than modern dogs.(研究团队选取萨摩耶与柴犬这两种古老犬种,它们被认为比现代犬类在基因上更接近狼的祖先。)” 根据第五段中的“The team focused on two old dog breeds, Samoyeds and Shiba Inus, which are thought to be more closely related to their wolf ancestors than modern dogs.(研究团队重点研究两种古老的犬类breeds,萨摩耶犬和柴犬,它们被认为比现代犬与狼的祖先亲缘关系更近。)” 通读全文,尤其是最后一段中的“Some experts believe human singing developed from the mouth control needed for speech. However, the fact that dogs can control their pitch without learning to speak suggests that language may not have been a necessary first step for musical ability.(部分专家认为人类歌唱源于说话所需的口腔控制能力。但狗狗无需习得语言就能调控音调,这表明语言并非音乐能力形成的必要前提。)”可知,人类的语言能力与音乐能力或许是各自独立发展形成的。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Overthinking involves thinking about a certain topic or situation excessively (过度地) and analyzing it for long periods of time. ____16____. The storekeeper’s voice shouted across the store as I hurried to put my shoes back on. “We don’t carry those in size 10. In fact, we don’t carry any size 10 shoes for young ladies.” My head sank lower as a warm redness spread across my face. My fun trip with girlfriends to try on new saddle shoes (马鞍鞋) was no longer fun. Later, I complained to my parents about my big feet, but they told me my feet were doing their job, supporting my body. “Besides, a nice tall girl like you would look ridiculous with tiny little feet,” my mother added. Growing up in a small town meant everyone knew my business. Neighbors, friends, even grocery clerks remarked I was tall, broad, and had big feet. If I ever compared myself to others, my parents were quick to repeat all the clichés (陈词滥调) ever known. I grew up with“beauty is as beauty does” and “beauty is only skin deep”. So I tried to stand up straight, but I also always stood out. I thanked my appearance for making me aware of the differences between what people said and their hidden inner thoughts. Someone might ask, “Oh, you’ re in what grade now? How nice!” while they’re thinking, “My gosh, she must be the tallest girl in her entire class.” My intuition (直觉) and people skills developed as I grew. Then in sixth grade, when I was the tallest girl in class and covered in mosquito bite scabs (疤), a “friend” named Shelby cornered me on the playground underneath the shade trees. She told me every single thing she didn’t like about my appearance, starting with my skin’s response to insect bites. In shock, I stood there and listened to her angry observations about me and my body — I was too tall, my shoulders too wide, my wrists and ankles too thick, and on and on. I was not sure how I responded, feeling alone, scared, and helpless. After school, I hurried home to tell my mother what had happened. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hearing what my mom said, I began to make a change. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文 After school, I hurried home to tell my mother what had happened. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I poured out Shelby’s cruel words, sobbing that I hated my height, my big feet and my thick wrists. I buried my face in my hands, wishing I could be small and ordinary like other girls. My mom pulled me into her warm arms, patted me on my back and wiped away my tears. She softly said, “Your body is strong and beautiful. It’s not looks that matter, but your kindness and courage.” Hearing what my mom said, I began to make a change. I truly no longer felt ashamed of my height and big feet. I stood straight and walked confidently, ignoring cold remarks. I paid more attention to my study and helped others, making true friends. I finally understood that real beauty comes from within. Those so-called imperfections became my strengths, making me more confident, independent and ready to face any challenge in life. 词汇激活 行为类 ①掩面哭泣:bury one’s face in one’s hand/cover face with one’s hand ②帮助:help/assist ③轻拍:pat/tap 情绪类 ①讨厌:hate/dislike ②善良:kindness/goodness 【点睛】【高分句型1】I buried my face in my hands, wishing I could be small and ordinary like other girls. B A first-grade teacher from Suffolk, Virginia, found a way to teach her students black history by taking them back in time to meet celebrated black figures. S. C The greeting from chatbots (聊天机器人) took me by surprise: “Hey, you.” I was expecting a “hello” or “hi” statements of simple recognition. Imitation: A Basic Human Communication Skill D If you search for SingingDog on social media, you will see many short videos of dogs howling (嚎叫) along to music they like. Overthinking involves thinking about a certain topic or situation excessively (过度地) and analyzing it for long periods of time. ____16____. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
