Hello, everyone. Today we are going to learn about typhoon's, one of the most powerful storms on earth. A typhoon is a huge spinning storm that forms over the ocean. IT has two main features, very strong winds and heavy rain. These winds can blow at high speeds strong enough to benches and damage buildings, while the heavy rain often last for hours and can quickly fill rivers in streets. Another special part of a typhoon is its ei, the calm, clear center of the storm. Inside the I. The way stop, the sky becomes bright and everything feels quiet and peaceful. But this calm is only temporary. After the eye asses, the strong winds and heavy rain will return, so we must never go outside. When the ee arrives, typhoon's bring many dangers to people. Strong winds can knock down trees, break windows and blow away light objects like bikes or signs. Heavy rain leads to floods, especially in low lying areas or near the coast. Big, powerful ves crash onto the shore, flooding towns and destroying buildings. Sometimes power lines fall down so people lose electricity and cannot use lights or phones, making IT harder to stay safe and connected. You may wonder, do typhoon's cause tsunami? The answer is no. Typhoon's do create large waves in the sea, but these are not tunnies. Tunnies are a different kind of natural disaster, usually caused by earthquakes under the sea floor. When the earth's plates move suddenly under the ocean, they push a huge amount of water upward, creating long, powerful waves that travels across the ocean at high speed. When these waves reached the coast, they become very tall and caused terrible damage to towns and people. Remember, when a typhoon comes, the most important thing is to stay inside, listen carefully to whether the reports, and prepare emergency supplies like water, food and flashlights. By knowing these facts, we can protect ourselves and our families from danger.

The weather in the eye of a typhoon is surprisingly calm: there is little to no wind, and the skies are clear or partly cloudy.
However, this calm in the typhoon eye is quite short-lived, usually lasting only one to two hours.
Typhoon won’t cause tsunamis but storm surges(风暴潮).
