A great place for children to play and use their imagination. Playing different roles is fun for kids. But it was overcrowded. For the price, it can be expensive as adults can’t enjoy the activities the way kids do.

The Four-Hat Challenge is a logic (逻辑) game for teams of four, often played during study trips. If one student can say the color of his or her own hat in five minutes, the team wins. If nobody gets the right answer in time, the whole team sings a funny camp song together. The game looks simple, but it needs careful logic.
In the game, Amy (A), Ben (B), Cindy (C), and David (D) stand in a special order. A stands alone behind a high wall. On the other side, B stands nearest it. C stands behind B and in front of D. All four students face the same direction.
The rules are simple:
* Each student wears a hat.
* There are two white hats and two black hats.
* No one knows the color of his or her own hat.
* They cannot speak to each other.
* They cannot move, turn around, or look over the wall.
From where they stand, A and B cannot see anyone’s hat, so neither of them has enough information to make a logical guess. C can see that B is wearing a white hat. D can see both B’s and C’s hats. If B and C wear hats of the same color, D will know at once that his own hat must be the other color, so he will call out.
But when the game begins, D says nothing. Near the end of the game, C calls out her hat color, and she is right. Sometimes silence can be the key to an answer.
51. What must one player do for the team to win?
A. Say one’s own hat color. B. Sing a funny camp song.
C. Call out four hat colors. D. Change places with others.
52. What does “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?

53. What stops A or B from making a logical guess?

C. They cannot look over the wall. D. They cannot see anyone’s hat.
54. Which picture shows the hats colors as described in the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
55. What is the main purpose of this text?
A. To describe a study trip. B. To teach a camp song.
C. To introduce a logic game. D. To share a life lesson.

At a middle school in the mountains of Yunnan, calligraphy (书法) teacher Miss Kang was giving a class. One girl sat by the window, looking at the dark sky outside.
Then the rain began to pour down, and soon the lights went out. Seeing all eyes on the rain, Miss Kang had an idea. She told the students to go outside to enjoy the rain and then come back to write something. It could be long or short, even just a few lines like a poem.
Miss Kang ran back to her room and brought a red speaker. Soft music filled the classroom as she walked among the desks and read the students’ work. As she moved closer to the window, she noticed the girl crying silently. She stopped and saw the girl’s poem:
I am a selfish child,
I wish when the rain stops, the sun will shine only on me.
I am a selfish child,
When I am sad, I wish for a quiet corner just for me.
I am a selfish child,
I hope my mother’s love belongs only to me.
Miss Kang finally understood why the girl was crying. Her mother worked far away and seldom came home.
From then on, rain was no longer just an interruption to the class. On rainy days, Miss Kang gave students time to listen, think and write. She also placed a small box outside her room, so students could leave their writings there privately on Friday evenings. She would read them on weekends and give feedback the next week.

Axolotls are known for their cute smiles. They have long interested scientists because of their unusual ability to regrow limbs (arms or legs) and even parts of their brains. Now, a new study helps explain how this happens.
James Monaghan, a scientist at Northeastern University, set out to explore a question that scientists could not answer for 200 years. His research focused on how an axolotl, when losing a hand, knows to regrow only that hand rather than a whole arm. The study found that axolotls have something in their bodies called retinoic acid (视黄酸), which tells cells (细胞) to start regrowing the right limb.
By examining axolotls, Monaghan discovered that their retinoic acid levels naturally get lower from shoulders to hands. This means cells at the shoulder have high levels and can help grow back a whole limb, while cells at the hand have low levels and only grow back the hand. After the researchers added more retinoic acid to an axolotl’s hand, the animal grew more than necessary, and its hand became a whole arm.
To better understand how axolotls use retinoie acid to regrow limbs, Monaghan and his team tried a new method. They found that a single enzyme (酶) is responsible for breaking down retinoic acid. When his team stopped this enzyme. it caused similar unexpected limb growth. This showed that retinoic acid levels are controlled by how fast the enzyme breaks it down.
Humans also have retinoic acid, but our cells work differently with these messages. So, understanding this message is an important step to use these findings to help humans. “It could help with scar-free wound healing (无疤痕愈合), and even bigger goals, like regrowing a whole finger,” Monaghan said. It is important to continue this research, as scientists are finding novel ways that now seem impossible with human medicine.
61. What does Monaghan mainly study in axolotls?
A. Cute smiles. B. Regrowth ability. C. Special limbs. D. Brain parts.
62. What does Paragraph 3 mainly tell us about retinoic acid?
A. Its levels. B. Its discovery. C. Its breakdown. D. Its importance.
63. What controlled axolotls’ correct regrowth according to Paragraph 4?
A. The cells. B. The method. C. The enzyme. D. The speed.
64. What does Monaghan think of this research?
A. Surprised. B. Doubtful. C. Worried. D. Hopeful.
65. Which would be the best title for the text?
A. Axolotls Hold the Key. B. Axolotls Grow New Limbs.
C. Axolotls Interest Scientists. D. Axolotls Save Human Lives.
