I never thought I'd be a “runner”. I was the girl who finished her laps last in gym class, the girl who was breathless after two flights of stairs, and the girl who complained of pain after a two-minute jog. Pretty sad, really. But a few years ago, I changed my tune. I was walking with a group of friends in the Race for the Cure, a race to raise money for the fight against breast cancer, when one lady caught my eye. She was one of the weakest looking women I'd ever seen. She must have been close to seventy years old, wearing a hat to cover her bald head and a T-shirt with the word “Survivor”. She was so small that it seemed as if a swift breeze could tip her over. But, she was running. And she was passing me and my group of twenty-something friends. I couldn't stop staring at her. She ran slowly, but determinedly — as if each step pushed her cancer further into her past. She was practically walking on her cancer every time her feet touched the ground. Then, I looked at my friends. Here we were, in the best time of our lives, and this seventy-year-old cancer survivor was kicking our butts! Right at that moment, I swore that in the next Race for the Cure, I'd be running along with her. A week later, I found myself at the gym. I got on and started to jog. Three minutes after I started, my face was bright red. I was sweating and felt like my lungs were going to burst. I had to slow down to walk. I thought about the woman at the race. She made it look so easy. I kept it up. I was able to go a little longer each time. Three and a half minutes. Four minutes. Five. A year later, I was at the Race for the Cure again. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When I was giving up, I saw the woman from the year before. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 一、文本分析 1.角色 ________________________________________________________ 2.视角 第________人称 3. The author was poor at running and hated exercise--- _________________ --- She witnessed an elderly cancer survivor running firmly--- _________________ --- The author was inspired and determined to run too--- _________________ --- She kept practicing jogging constantly 4. What was the author like before? :___________________________________ What kind of activity is the Race for the Cure?:_________________________________ What impressed the author most about the elderly woman?:________________________________________________ What decision did the author make?:__________________________________________ How was the author’s running training at first?:_____________________________________________ What is the core of the story?:_________________________________________________ What does the story tell us?:________________________________________________ 5. The author:inferior and lazy→___________→inspired and determined→___________→persistent and enlightened(续写) 7. 综合概括(中英各一句) 中文:______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 英文:______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8. 句式 宾语从句;定语从句;状语从句;非谓语;并列句 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 9. 本文主题 励志成长类:_______________________________________ 二. Paragraph 1: A year later, I was at the Race for the Cure again. 1——How did the author feel during the race? Exhaustion swept over me, and I could barely breathe. Overwhelmed by tiredness, I was about to give up the tough race. When I was giving up, I saw the woman from the year before. She was still thin, yet her steps remained steady and firm. Seeing her persistent figure struggling forward bravely, I was instantly filled with strength. I told myself I should never quit. Gathering all my courage, I kept pace and ran insistently. Eventually, I crossed the finish line successfully. I realized running was not merely a sport, but a lesson: perseverance always beats physical weakness.
