As we talked, she talked about her childhood in Manila, Philippines. She spoke about the way her culture values their elders, and she explained that children are educated from the time of birth to honor and respect people older than themselves. It was refreshing to hear that, and I enjoyed listening and learning. Here is the memory she shared that I found so beautiful: When she was growing up, her father had three jobs to take care of his family. She said her dad never complained, and though he worked very hard, he always had time for them. One day, her father was injured at his full-time job. For several months, he was mailed temporary (暂时的) disability checks while he recovered. When her father was able to return to his full-time job, he took all those disability checks that were sent to him while he was recovering and handed them back to the company. He told them that he had good legs and arms, and did not need this money. He told them to give the money to people who could not work, to people who really needed it. The woman telling the story was a little girl at that time. She had accompanied her father that very day when he went back to his company with all those unopened checks. “My father is my hero,” she said. Lowering her voice, she said she would never forget what he did, and what an inspiration and influential mentor (良师益友) he was on how to live life. From my communication with her, it was very obvious that her father’s same sweet spirit had been passed down to this woman, and to her family. Hearing this story was so refreshing to my soul. I hope it is the same to you too. 4. When the woman was talking about her childhood, the writer was probably ________. A. sad and moved B. surprised and angry C. annoyed and disappointed D. interested and joyful 5. The woman’s father took the temporary disability checks back to his company because ________. A. he felt he was looked down upon B. he wasn’t satisfied with the amount C. he thought others needed them more than him D. he felt sorry that he had hurt himself by accident 6. What did the writer find after talking with the woman? A. The woman didn’t know how hard life was. B. The woman missed her father very much. C. The woman’s father influenced her in a good way. D. The woman didn’t think her father made the right decision. 7. By writing the story, the writer ________. A. tries to tell us what we can learn from our parents B. hopes we can get encouraged by good deeds C. shows respect for real heroes in our lives D. wants to ask us to value our family 【答案】4. D 5. C 6. C 7. 由第二段中的“It was refreshing to hear that, and I enjoyed listening and learning. (听到这些让人耳目一新,我很喜欢听和学。)”可知,作者在听那位女士讲她的童年往事时觉得很耳目一新,可得出作者很感兴趣,而且听她的故事作者觉得很快乐。故选D项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。由第四段中的“He told them that he had good legs and arms, and did not need this money. He told them to give the money to people who could not work, to people who really needed it. (他告诉他们,他四肢健全,不需要这笔钱。他告诉他们把钱给那些不能工作的人,给那些真正需要钱的人。)”可知,那位父亲之所以把支票退回去,是因为他认为自己肢体健全,不需要这笔钱,而有人更需要这些支票。故选C项。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。由倒数第二段中的“From my communication with her, it was very obvious that her father’s same sweet spirit had been passed down to this woman, and to her family. (从我和她的交流中,很明显,她父亲同样甜美的精神已经传给了这个女人,传给了她的家人。)”可知,作者发现这位女士的父亲将自己的精神传给了女儿,说明那位女士的父亲对她产生了非常好的影响。故选C项。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。由最后一段“Hearing this story was so refreshing to my soul. I hope it is the same to you too. (听到这个故事让我心旷神怡。我希望你也一样。)”和结合上文可知,女士父亲受伤,但伤好后,拒绝了公司的支票,说把支票留给需要的人,这种做好事的美好精神给女士产生了非常好的影响,这个故事让作者觉得好,可得出作者写这篇文章的目的就是希望大家从美好的行为中受到鼓舞。故选B项。 Passage C There are many interesting science experiments out there for young kids. You can surprise your friends and teachers with them. All you have to do is to put a little effort into it and you should have no problem coming up with an interesting science experiment. One such experiment is to show your friends and teachers that you can make mothballs (樟脑丸) dance! If you want to do it, first, be sure that you have got all the necessary science kits(工具箱) for your science experiment. What you need for this experiment is a glass filled half full with water. Add a little bit of vinegar to your glass of water, about 1/3 or 1/4 of a cup (60 ml), and one teaspoon (10 ml) of baking soda, and then carefully stir the mixture. Drop a few mothballs into the glass and have your audience watch. As long as the surfaces of the mothballs become fairly rough, they should begin to bounce(弹起) up and down in the glass. You can also do a similar experiment with raisins (葡萄干) and clear pop, such as Sprite. In this experiment, all you have to do is to fill a glass with Sprite and drop a few raisins into it. The raisins should begin to bounce up and down in the glass of Sprite. You can also replace the raisins with mothballs and you should get the same effect in the Sprite. This project works because the irregular surfaces of the mothballs and the raisins hold some CO2 bubbles (气泡) ,causing them to bounce up and down in a dancing motion. 8. The writer writes this passage to ________. A. explain why some science experiments are easy B. encourage people to spend more time on science C. tell us how good he is at doing science experiments D. teach kids how to do an easy and interesting science experiment 9. What is the most probable name of the experiment? A. Producing mothballs. B. Dancing mothballs. C. Changing mothballs. D. Swimming mothballs. 10. From the last paragraph we can know ________. A. why Sprite has some CO2 bubbles B. what people usually use Sprite for C. what scientists usually do with raisins D. why the mothballs bounce up and down 【答案】8. D 9. B 10. C 11. 根据第一段中“There are many interesting science experiments out there for young kids.”(有许多适合小孩子的有趣的科学实验)以及“One such experiment is to show your friends and teachers that you can make mothballs (樟脑丸) dance!”(一个可以向你的朋友和老师展示的实验就是你可以让樟脑丸跳舞),再根据文章接下来的段落就是具体介绍了这个实验,可知,文章的目的是教小孩子怎么做一个简单而又有趣的科学实验,故选D。 根据第一段的“One such experiment is to show your friends and teachers that you can make mothballs (樟脑丸) dance!”(一个可以向你的朋友和老师展示的实验就是你可以让樟脑丸跳舞)可知,实验室关于樟脑丸的,然后在过程中上下弹跳,“跳舞的樟脑丸”是这个实验最可能的名字,故选B。 根据第四段中“You can also do a similar experiment with raisins (葡萄干) and clear pop, such as Sprite.” 根据最后一段中“This project works because the irregular surfaces of the mothballs and the raisins hold some CO2 bubbles (气泡) , causing them to bounce up and down in a dancing motion. ”(这个实验之所以成功,是因为樟脑球和葡萄干的不规则表面含有一些二氧化碳气泡,使它们以舞蹈的动作上下跳动) 可知,从最后一段我们可以得知樟脑丸为什么会上下跳动,故选D。 Passage D Everyone who has eaten instant noodles knows that it’s very easy to cook them quickly. However, have you ever heard of the danger of eating them? When taking out the noodles from the packaging, you will notice that they are joined together nicely as a piece. Do you know that it needs some form of wax coating (蜡涂层) to make them joined together nicely? Many people don’t really care much about it because this seems very normal. Above all, I hoped he wouldn’t assign me to work with the fiercely competitive and extremely serious fellow who always wore dark clothes and apparently had a personality to match. As fate (命运) would have it, Dr. Henderson very deliberately matched everyone in class and announced that I would be working with the one person in class I wanted to avoid. I went up to my new teammate and introduced myself. He looked at me as though I weren’t there. I felt he treated me as though I would hold him back and probably make him fail to get an A in the course. He wasn’t mean or abusive. He just gave me the impression that he could do whatever project we dreamed up better if he did it alone. Needless to say, I didn’t look forward to an entire team of being brushed off, but I tried to make the best of it and didn’t say anything for fear that I would make things worse. The project required each team to develop a hypothesis (假说), set up an experiment to test the hypothesis, do the statistical analysis and present the findings. Whatever grade the team received would be shared by both students. When my teammate and I met to discuss our project, I was uneasy. Here was this challenging student who had a reputation for single-mindedness and good grades—the exact opposite of me. I actually wanted to drop the class at one point, but stopped short because I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of my chickening out. I decided to stick to it no matter what. After long discussions, we somehow agreed to do a study on the psychological well-being of teenagers. I wasn’t sure what it meant exactly, but at least we had a topic. Para.1 We started to meet regularly to draw up our plans. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para. 2 Then one day I got word that he was admitted to the hospital for a serious disease. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 Para.1 We started to meet regularly to draw up our plans. Companion as I was in the project, I still had no sense of participating in the project. My teammate kept his brain occupied in developing the hypothesis, setting up an experiment to test it, and running the tests alone, leaving me just standing beside him as if I were a fool. “What a dull project it is!” I murmured to myself. However, something changed gradually, as I became aware what the tactile-kinesthetic perception of space meant. Thanks to the intense, fiercely competitive, singularly serious fellow, the whole procedure went smoothly, close to the final stage. Para. 2 Then one day I got word that he was admitted to the hospital for a serious disease. Without any delay, I packed up my school bag, took all the experiment statistics and rushed to the hospital. Seeing the pale fellow wearing pure white clothes instead of the annoying dark clothes, I felt a sense of sympathy and mercy welling up in my heart. With his guidance, I finished the statistical analysis and presented the findings. It turned out to be such an amazing and persuasive study that my teammate and I did win the best grade. Now, we have been most reliable cooperative partners ever since! 词汇激活 行为类 ①忙着做某事:be occupied in doing sth./be busy doing sth. ②冲向:rush to/dash to ③完成: finish/accomplish 情绪类 ①令人恼怒的:annoying/distressing ②令人惊讶的:amazing/astonishing 【点睛】[高分句型1]Companion as I was in the project, I still had no sense of participating in the project.(由as引导的让步状语从句的倒装) [高分句型2] However, something changed gradually, as I became aware what the tactile-kinesthetic perception of space meant.(由as引导时间状语从句和what引导宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年度第二学期 高一年级英语学科第一次考试(外研版必修二1-6单元) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1. 5分,满分7. 5分) 听下面5段对话,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项,每段对话仅读一遍。 1. A. tries to tell us what we can learn from our parents B. hopes we can get encouraged by good deeds C. shows respect for real heroes in our lives D. wants to ask us to value our family Passage C There are many interesting science experiments out there for young kids. From the last paragraph we can know ________. A. why Sprite has some CO2 bubbles B. what people usually use Sprite for C. what scientists usually do with raisins D. why the mothballs bounce up and down Passage D Everyone who has eaten instant noodles knows that it’s very easy to cook them quickly. However, studies have shown that the wax coating is bad for our body. It is advisable to have a break of 2-3 days before we start to eat another packet of instant noodles because our body needs about 3 days to clear that wax coating away. Do you know the danger of having too much wax coating in our stomach? It will lead to cancer if it is in our body for so long. Luckily, there is a way of reducing the danger before we eat instant noodles. First, wash the noodles with warm water, stir (搅拌) them and pour away the water containing the wax coating. Then repeat the first step and try to stir them again to wash away the wax coating on the noodles before cooking them. The shop vendors (供应商) will often wash away the dangerous wax coating. It is very easy to cook instant noodles but we must pay attention to the wax coating if we eat too much. Imagine having too much of it in your stomach. Oh, my! Hope this article will help more people know about the hidden danger! 12. What should you do before eating instant noodles according to the writer? A. Stir the noodles twice in really cold water. B. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
