My family go to the zoo. My sister loves animals. She likes reading books about animals. I like photography and I want to take some photos in the zoo. After we get to the zoo, we see the elephants first. They have big ears and long noses. They’re friendly. My sister says elephants have a good memory so they never get lost. I take some photos of them. Then we see the giraffes. They have long necks and legs. They are quiet and shy. I like their colors, yellow and brown. They look beautiful in my photos. Pandas are the stars of the zoo. They’re cute. My sister says pandas have two dreams. One is to take color photos, and the other is to get rid of dark circles. That’s funny! At last we see tigers. I think they’re really scary but my sister says they’re cool. 1.What does the writer’s sister like doing? 2.Why do elephants never get lost? 3.What colors are the giraffes? 4.How many kinds of animals do they see in the zoo? 5.What does the writer think of tigers? 1.She likes reading books about animals. 2.Because they have a good memory. 3.They are yellow and brown. 4.Four. 5.The writer thinks they are really scary. Because they are friendly, loving, loyal and great for many families. Dogs can help your family in many ways. When you have a dog, you need to walk it every day. This gives you some exercise. You can even walk, run, or bike with your dog. If you have kids, a dog can help teach them responsibility (责任). If you give your kids jobs like feeding or walking the dog, they learn to be more responsible. They see that someone has trust in (信任) them, so they will be very glad to look after the dogs. A dog protects (保护) your home, too. Dogs often sleep by the door to protect the house at night. If they see something unusual, they make big sounds or run to you worriedly. This lets you know there may be something wrong outside. Life can be difficult, but dogs help us think of the good things. They make many families happier, even if they have no kids. Evans showed the students around the centre. Along the way, Molly saw some workers catching birds with nets. She was surprised. “Why do the workers do that to the cute birds? The birds seem poor,” she said. Evans answered, “Don’t worry! Workers catch them to put bands (带状物) on their legs. There is a number on each band. After that, they will let the birds fly away.” Molly then learned that the bands are useful when people want to know how many birds there are. Then Molly and her classmates continued (继续) their visit. They watched many birds in the trees and listened to their songs. Evans told them that many birds were in great danger. After hearing that, Molly wanted to help save birds. She thought about ways she could help, like planting trees and keeping the area clean. Do you care about wildlife and the environment? If you answered yes to these questions, you might think about becoming a bird biologist. Bird biologists are scientists who study birds. Birds are interesting for many reasons. Birds have a lot in common, but at the same time, they can be very different from one another. All birds have feathers, and most of them can fly. They are in different sizes from hummingbirds smaller than your fist (拳头) to ostriches taller than most people. Ostriches can't fly, but they can run up to about 70 kilometres an hour! Bird biologists work to understand more about birds, like their habits, and their homes. Some kinds of birds are dying off because they travel a long way during migration (迁徙). In North America, birds travel to northern places in summer and to southern places for the winter. Bird biologists are studying how and where birds get hurt along the way and trying to help them. But that's not all bird biologists do! Beth Flint is a bird biologist in a wildlife refuge (野生动物保护区) near Hawaii. She tracks (追踪) all the different kinds of seabirds in the refuge. She enjoys working outside, but she also works in an office. She reads research studies about all the animals in the wildlife refuge, and makes plans to help protect them, especially the birds. She talks to volunteers about the wildlife in the refuge too. To become a bird biologist, Dr Flint studied many fields that all have connections. She learnt about wildlife, forestry, biology, zoology (the study of animals and their behaviour), botany (the study of plants), and ecology (生态学). Her interest in seabirds started when she was a student. She saw a photo of Atlantic puffins on a rock and wanted to learn more about them. You never know where your interests may lead you. They may lead you to become a scientist who studies wildlife! 1.How fast can ostriches run? 2.Why are some kinds of birds dying off? 3.What does Beth Flint do outside in the refuge? 4.What did Beth Flint learn about to become a bird biologist? 5.Would you like to become a bird biologist? Why or why not? (Please give two reasons.) 【答案】1.They can run up to about 70 kilometres an hour. 2.Because they travel a long way during migration. 3.She tracks all the different kinds of seabirds in the refuge. 4.She learnt about wildlife, forestry, biology, zoology, botany and ecology. 5.Yes. The first reason is that I am interested in birds. What’s more, I think birds are important in the environment so I want to protect them. 【导语】本文主要探讨了鸟类为何有趣,鸟类的特点,鸟类生物学家的工作内容,并以Beth Flint为例介绍了鸟类生物学家的具体工作,同时讲述了成为鸟类生物学家需要学习的领域,鼓励人们追随兴趣投身野生动物研究。 1.根据“Ostriches can't fly, but they can run up to about 70 kilometres an hour!”可知,鸵鸟不会飞,但它们能以每小时约70公里的速度奔跑,故填They can run up to about 70 kilometres an hour. 2.根据“Some kinds of birds are dying off because they travel a long way during migration (迁徙).”可知,有些种类的鸟正在灭绝,因为它们在迁徙过程中要长途飞行。故填Because they travel a long way during migration. 3.根据“She tracks (追踪) all the different kinds of seabirds in the refuge. She enjoys working outside, but she also works in an office.”可知,她追踪保护区里所有不同种类的海鸟。她喜欢在外面工作,但她也在办公室工作。故填She tracks all the different kinds of seabirds in the refuge. 4.根据“To become a bird biologist, Dr Flint studied many fields that all have connections. She learnt about wildlife, forestry, biology, zoology (the study of animals and their behaviour), botany (the study of plants), and ecology (生态学).”可知,为了成为一名鸟类生物学家,弗林特博士研究了许多相互关联的领域。她学习了野生动物学、林学、生物学、动物学(研究动物及其行为)、植物学(研究植物)和生态学。故填She learnt about wildlife, forestry, biology, zoology, botany and ecology. 5.这是一个开放性问题,答案因人而异。但可以根据文章内容和常识来回答。故填Yes. The first reason is that I am interested in birds. What’s more, I think birds are important in the environment so I want to protect them. 请阅读下面这篇文章,根据所提供的信息,回答5个问题。要求所写答案语法正确、语义完整。 Beavers: Nature’s Engineers Beavers are amazing animals that live near rivers and lakes. They have strong teeth to cut down trees and flat tails to swim. But their most special skill is building dams—walls made of wood, stones, and mud. These dams create ponds, which become homes for many other animals like fish, birds, and frogs. Beavers work hard to keep their dams strong. They add more wood or mud when needed, like engineers fixing a bridge. The ponds they build also help plants grow. When rain comes, the dams slow down the water, preventing floods. In dry seasons, the stored water keeps the land green. Sadly, beavers are losing their homes because people cut down forests and build cities. This makes it hard for them to find trees to build dams. Without beavers, many ponds dry up, and other animals lose their homes too. It’s important for us to protect beavers. We can leave some trees near rivers for them to use. By doing this, we help keep the ecosystem balanced—just like the beavers do. 根据短文内容,回答下列问题。 1.What do beavers use to build dams? 2.How do the ponds created by beavers help during dry seasons? 3.Why is it hard for beavers to build dams now? 4.What can we do to protect beavers? 5.Besides beavers, what other animal do you think plays an important role in nature? Why? 【答案】1.They use wood, stones, and mud. 2.The stored water keeps the land green. 3.Because people cut down forests and build cities, beavers can’t find enough trees. 4.We can leave some trees near rivers for them to use. 5.I think bees play an important role. They carry pollen from flower to flower, helping plants reproduce. Without bees, many fruits and vegetables wouldn’t grow. 【导语】本文介绍了海狸这一被称为 “自然工程师” 的动物,讲述了它们建造水坝的技能、水坝的作用,以及海狸目前面临的生存困境和保护它们的方法。 1.根据第一段中“But their most special skill is building dams—walls made of wood, stones, and mud.”可知,海狸用木头、石头和泥土建水坝。故填They use wood, stones, and mud. 2.根据第二段中“In dry seasons, the stored water keeps the land green.”可知,水坝储存的水在旱季能保持土地呈绿色。故填The stored water keeps the land green. 3.根据第三段中“Sadly, beavers are losing their homes because people cut down forests and build cities. This makes it hard for them to find trees to build dams.”可知,人类砍伐森林和建设城市导致海狸缺少建坝的树木。故填Because people cut down forests and build cities, beavers can’t find enough trees. 4.根据最后一段“We can leave some trees near rivers for them to use.”可知,我们可以在河边留下一些树木供它们使用。故填We can leave some trees near rivers for them to use. 5.开放性作答,言之有理即可。参考答案为I think bees play an important role. They carry pollen from flower to flower, helping plants reproduce. Without bees, many fruits and vegetables wouldn’t grow. From September to February each year, Dazhong Mountain in Chuxiong, Yunnan is home to more than 50,000,000 migratory birds (候鸟) . People used to call the mountain Daqueshan, which means bird-hunting mountain. The villagers used to hunt birds on the mountain. Then one year, they couldn’t hear birds singing. People started to worry if migratory birds would return again. In 1984, the Hongtupo Forest Police Station was set up. The officers worked on the mountain, trying to find migratory birds and stop people from hunting them. The job was really difficult. They might lose their way or meet dangerous animals. The officers also tried to tell villagers the importance of protecting birds and other wild animals. They visited the villagers door to door and helped them with farm work. They even organized activities in schools to get their messages across to children. Now, even children know that birds are to be loved. The mountain is greener, the water is clearer, and more and more animals come to live here. It has become a bird-protecting mountain. Many people have opened bed-and-break-fasts for birdwatchers. “The village has changed a lot, and we don’t hunt birds anymore,” people say. Since people have stopped hunting, the police station now mainly works to save injured wildlife. 1.How many migratory birds live on Dazhong Mountain from September to February? 2.What did the villagers on Dazhong Mountain use to do? 3.What did the Hongtupo Forest Police Station officers do for the migratory birds? 4.What danger might the officers face on the mountain? 5.What do you think we should do to protect the birds? (Write 20 words or more. ) 【答案】1.More than 50,000,000 migratory birds. 2.They used to hunt birds on the mountain. 3.They worked on the mountain to find migratory birds and stop people from hunting them, and also told villagers the importance of protecting birds and other wild animals. 4.They might lose their way or meet dangerous animals. 5.We should stop hunting birds, tell people the importance of protecting them, and create a safe living environment for them. 【导语】本文主要讲述了云南楚雄大中山从“打雀山”转变为“护鸟山”的过程,介绍了当地村民过去猎鸟的行为、红土坡森林派出所为保护候鸟所做的努力,以及如今生态改善、村民观念转变的现状。 1.首段直接描述“From September to February each year, Dazhong Mountain in Chuxiong, Yunnan is home to more than 50,000,000 migratory birds”,这是原文直接信息。 2.第二段明确指出“The villagers used to hunt birds on the mountain”,这是原文中的具体行为信息,直接提取。 3.根据对第二、三段信息的概括总结。该段提到两个核心行动:一是“trying to find migratory birds and stop people from hunting them”,二是“tried to tell villagers the importance of protecting birds and other wild animals”,答案将这两点整合为他们的护鸟工作。 4.第二段结尾直接给出了民警可能面临的危险:“They might lose their way or meet dangerous animals”,答案几乎是原文引述。 5.本题是开放性试题,答案不唯一,但观点需基于文中事实。结合文章内容和自己对护鸟的看法、理由,合理作答即可。 能力综合实践5篇 请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。 Going to the zoo is one of my favourite weekend activities. Every time I visit, I feel excited to see different animals. I can watch big elephants walking slowly, cute pandas eating bamboo, and lively monkeys jumping up and down. It’s so much fun to see them up close!— Cao Hailong writes in his diary                                                              Chart Ⅰ Keeping animals in zoos is a topic (话题) people often talk about. People have different ideas about keeping animals in zoos. Some people think it’s good, but others don’t. Let’s look at both sides. Yes No Jeff, an 11-year-old boy from LondonZoos can protect (保护) animals in danger. Many wild animals face hunting (猎杀) and lose their homes. Zoos give them safe places to live, enough food, and doctors to help when they are sick. Wu Qiufeng, a boy from TaiyuanAnimals lose their freedom (自由) . In the wild, they can run, fly, or swim as they like. But in zoos, there isn’t much space — lions can’t run far, and birds can’t fly freely. This makes them sad. Li Yanhong, a seventh-grader from BeijingZoos help people learn about animals. Kids and adults (成人) can get close and see animals, not just in books or on TV. This helps us love and protect animals better. Shirley, a middle school student from LondonZoo life is not natural. Animals may feel bored or sad. Just as we humans, if we stay at home or in the school all the time, we do feel the same way. Animals should live in the wild. Chart Ⅱ In a word, keeping animals in zoos has both good and bad sides. The most important thing is to make sure animals live happily and safely. 1.How does Cao Hailong feel in the zoo? 2.Who thinks it is good to keep animals in the zoo? 3.What do both Wu Qiufeng and Shirley think of animals in the zoo? 4.Why does the writer show us Chart Ⅱ? 5.Do you think keeping animals in zoos is good or bad? Why? 【答案】1.He feels excited. 2.Jeff and Li Yanhong. 3.They think animals in zoos are unhappy (lose freedom or feel bored/sad). 4.To show people’s different ideas about keeping animals in zoos. 5.I think it’s good. Because zoos can protect endangered animals and help people learn about them./I think it’s bad. Because animals lose freedom and feel sad in zoos. 【导语】本文以曹海龙的日记引入,介绍了人们对动物园圈养动物的两种不同观点,并说明其有利有弊,最重要的是保证动物快乐、安全地生活。 1.原文曹海龙的日记明确提到“Every time I visit, I feel excited to see different animals”,直接提取情感即可。 2. Do you know seahorses? They are famous for their curly (卷曲的) tails and the horse-like head. Seahorses are a special kind of sea fish. Let’s take a closer look at the world of them. The seahorse is a small fish and people can find it in many waters around the world. It can be as small as a peanut (花生) or as large as a tennis shoe. Seahorses have many colors, and some can even change color to match the environment. They are the slowest swimmers among fish. Their only way to push (推) themselves forward is by using a tiny fin (鳍) on their backs. Often, seahorses hold onto plants with their tails for a faster trip! Humans are the greatest danger to seahorses. Seahorses feed on tiny fish and plankton (浮游生物), but chemical (化学的) pollution from human activities harms the food. And the climate change makes the ocean warmer, and this can make a difference in their breathing and appetite (食欲). What’s worse, seahorses are poor swimmers, so they have trouble running away from polluted areas. However, the seahorse trade (贸易) is more serious (严重的) than these dangers. Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答下列问题): Pu Cuifen, a villager from Yunnan Province, experienced that an elephant visited his house two years ago. The elephants were harmful to no one, but had com and beans on the farm. The villagers lost nearly 50,000yuan. Earlier than that, villagers would drive away the elephants to protect their crops, which made the animals angry and led to human injuries or deaths. Now the government has helped to pay the money for the crops damaged (损害) by elephants. Such things will help protect the interests of farmers and elephants. The government has also created “dining halls” for the wild elephants to grow their favorite food, such as elephant grass and bamboo. Villagers now simply leave the elephants alone. Yunnan Province is not the only example of protecting wild animals. In Tibet, Migmar used to be a hunter, but now has become a rescuer at the wildlife rescue station of Qomolangma. He and his friends take turns to go around to check there’s no trouble or danger for wild animals every day. The wildlife rescue station was set up in 2019. From then on, they have saved 17 wild animals. During this period, they learned to tie up the animals and clean their wounds, and set them free into the wild when they got well again. “Animals don’t talk, but I can feel their trust. We should protect them,” said Migmar. Examples of taking care of wild animals appear more around us. From damage to protection, people see more changing on human-wildlife relations. Even the simplest change and action can make a change to the world. 1.The elephants were harmless to people in Pu’s village, weren’t they? 2.What happened when the villagers drove away the elephants? 3.Why did the government create “dining halls” for the wild elephants? 4.What topic do the two examples have in common? 5.How do you feel about Migmar and his friends? Please give your reason(s). 【答案】1.No, they weren’t. 2.Villagers’ driving away the elephants made the animals angry and led to human injuries or deaths. 3.Because the government wanted to grow the wild elephants’ favorite food for them. 4.The topic is about protecting wild animals and the changing relationship between humans and wild animals. 5.开放性问题,答案不唯一。I think Migmar and his friends are kind and responsible. They can hear sounds from 30 meters away! This would be like hearing someone whisper (小声说话) from across the playground. Foxes can also run very fast. Foxes move around and eat at night, but you can see them during the day, because they like sunshine. Foxes like eating meat. They also eat fruit and even look for food everywhere. Baby foxes drink milk from their mothers before they start eating other food! Foxes also store food and eat later. You may see foxes in all kinds of places. They live with other foxes in the countryside or make their homes in towns and cities. You might find one if you are out on a dark night. In many cultures, foxes are cunning (狡猾的). The birdwatching trip was very short — only one hour long, but all students learned a lot about birds and had fun during it. For Molly, it was just a start. She would spend more time studying and saving birds in the future. 根据短文内容,回答下列问题。 1.Who did Molly go to the bird centre with? 2.Why did the workers catch birds with nets? 3.What did Molly and her classmates do at the centre? 4.How long was the birdwatching trip? 5.In our daily life, what can we do to help save birds? (Please give two reasons.) 请阅读下面这篇文章,根据所提供的信息,回答5个问题。要求所写答案语法正确、语义完整。 Beavers: Nature’s Engineers Beavers are amazing animals that live near rivers and lakes. Why? Why? Over 20 million seahorses are caught and killed each year for use in medicine. 12 同步新教材,周周有练习,月月有重点! 13 同步新教材,周周有练习,月月有重点! 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
