At that time, Nils saw some wild geese flying in the sky, and Morten, his home goose, was going to follow them. “Oh no! You can’t fly away.” Nils jumped to Morten and tried to catch him. But right then, Morten flew up. He took Nils to the sky. Soon, Morten began to fall behind the wild geese, but he didn’t give up. When it was getting dark, the geese stopped by a lake.

“Wilbur is such a great pig. We will not kill him,” Mr. Zuckerman told Mrs. Zuckerman.
Wilbur isn’t afraid any more. He comes to tell Charlotte the good news. “Do you feel happy for me, Charlotte?” Charlotte answers, “Sure, my friend.”
“Thank you so much, Charlotte. You make me a great pig, but you look so tired. What’s the matter?” Wilbur asks.
Charlotte thinks for a minute and says, “Wilbur, I’m too tired. I’m afraid I’m going to die. I’m leaving you...” Wilbur begins crying. “Don’t be sad, Wilbur! I’m just a spider. I’m nobody. But by helping you, my life is valuable. Thank you!” Wilbur says in a sad voice. “What can I do, Charlotte? I would like to give you my life. I really would.” Charlotte smiles and says, “I believe in you. Look at the egg sac. There are 540 eggs in it. That means I can have 540 children. You can look after them well, right?”

I put down Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I kept going over the exciting story in my mind. The book was full of magic. But Charlie’s happy family was the most magical part of the story.
Charlie’s home was a small house at the side of a big town. His family was very poor. His four grandparents stayed in the only bed in the house. The family never had enough food. They always ate watery cabbage soup for dinner. In winter, the freezing wind swept across the floor all night long.
To my surprise, the family were happy together. In the evenings, Charlie sat with his grandparents in bed and listened to their stories. Charlie’s parents often joined in. Every night, the room became a happy place. The whole family forgot about their hunger and poor life.
This touched me greatly. In some people’s minds, happiness comes from things like money. But love, in fact, is the key to happiness. Oscar Wilde once said, “Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden...” There are so many reasons to be happy. I think love is the most important one. It can move us, change us and give us a life full of happiness.
30.What was the most magical part of the story for the writer?
A.The chocolate factory. B.Charlie’s happy family.
C.The adventures in the book. D.The magic food.
31.Why did the family eat cabbage soup every day?
A.They loved cabbage. B.They were very poor.
C.They had no time to cook. D.Cabbage was healthy.
32.How did the family feel in the evenings?

33.According to the writer, what is the key to happiness?
A.Money. B.Love. C.Food. D.Houses.
D
“What fun!” cries Wendy.
“Yes, it is.” says Peter. “But we are lonely. There are no girls there, only boys! And no one tells us stories like your mother tells you and your brothers.”
“Oh, poor you!” cries Wendy. “I know lots and lots of stories! ” “Wendy, come to Neverland with me and tell me stories!”
Of course Wendy is very pleased. But she says, “Oh dear, I can’t. What about Mother? And I can’t fly.”
“I can teach you,” says Peter. “You can fly around with me and talk to the stars. And Wendy, there are mermaids (美人鱼) in Neverland!”
Peter is very clever. He knows the things that Wendy likes.
“Oooh! How very exciting!” she says. “Can you teach John and Michael to fly, too?”
“If you like,” says Peter, without much enthusiasm (热情). Wendy goes and shakes John and Michael.
“Wake up,” she cries, “Peter Pan can teach us to fly.”
John opens his eyes and jumps out of bed. Michael gets up, too. “What must we do, Peter?” John asks.
“Just think lovely thoughts.” Peter explains. Then he flies around the room. It looks easy. The children try it, but they always fall on the floor. They don’t know that Peter is playing a trick on them. No one can fly without fairy dust. Peter has some of Tinker Bell’s dust on his hands. He throws it on the children.
First Michael flies across the room. Then John flies and meets Wendy in the air near the bathroom. Up and down they go. Round and round.
“Look at me!” they cry.
“Let’s go out!” cries John.
This is exactly what Peter wants. But Wendy is not sure.
“Mermaids, Wendy!” says Peter. “And there are pirates (海盗).”
“Pirates!” cries John. He picks up his best hat and flies towards the window. “Let’s go!”

Morten was very tired. “Come on, Morten,” Nils said. He fed him with water. To thank Nils, Morten caught a small fish for him. “It’s so good to have a friend,” Nils thought.

John opens his eyes and jumps out of bed. Michael gets up, too. “What must we do, Peter?” John asks.
