For my 10th birthday,my sister and I were taken out to the Great Barrier Reef ()There were fish in different colors, caves and layers of coral ()They made such an impression on me. When I learned that on ly I percent of Australia's Coral Sea was protected,I was shocked.Australian marine (life is particularly important because the reefs have more marine species than any other country on earth. But sadly, only 45%of the world's reefs are considered healthy. If we continued dealing with the ocean as we are doing, there would certainly be more and more marine disasters happening before our eyes, causing not only deaths of large quantities of marine life but also damage to health of the earth, our only home. Together,Angus and I have created a little video and we hope it will inspire people to be a part of the movement.Angus also shares many beautiful childhood memories of the ocean as a young boy, who grew up sailing, admiring the beauty of the ocean, and trying to find the secrets of ocean species. 24.From the underlined sentence in Paragraph 1,we can learn the author A.seldom went surfing at the sea B.forgot his experiences about the ocean C.never went back to his hometown D.had a wonderful impression of Halfmoon Bay 25.According to the second paragraph,Australian marine life A.is escaping from the Coral Sea gradually B.depends on reefs for living greatly C.may be faced with danger D.is protected better than that in other oceans 第三部分模块检测卷35 26.The Protect Our Coral Sea activity is intended to A.contribute to a complete eco-system B.prevent more marine species from being endangered C.set up a large nature reserve for reefs D.raise more teenagers'environmental awareness 27.Angus and the author have created a little video to A.encourage more people to take action to protect the marine species B.inspire more people to explore the secret of the ocean C.share their childhood experiences about the ocean D.bring back to people their memory of ocean species C To know parents'influence on students'learning, researchers studied 438 kids and their parents. The study found kids whose parents were anxious about math learned less math over the school year. And these kids didn't perform as well on the tests as those who hadn't been exposed to math anxiety.Besides, these kids also were more likely to become nervous about math themselves. But these kids only caught that anxiety if their parents had often tried to help with their homework. This is an example of good intention having a bad result. Parents with math anxiety should still support their kids as the kids work on math homework, though. But they should know helping kids with schoolwork requires more than just going over facts and concepts.Parents should help kids look for ways to have fun with math, like playing math-based games. When kids have difficulty in learning, encourage them to bravely face it but don't make them nervous. What can students do if they're already nervous about math?Maloney said,"My earlier study showed that students who wrote about their fears of math for 7 to 10 minutes before taking a math test performed better on that test. After the writing process, many students said their fears weren't such a big deal.” 36第三部分模块检测卷 28.What were the 438 kids'parents asked to present?
