Unit1
动词不定式的基本形式是“to+动词原形”,没有人称和数的变化,其否定形式是“not to + 动词原形”在句中不能作谓语。
动词不定式可在句中作主语、宾语、宾语补足语、状语等。本单元重点讲动词不定式作目的状语和宾语补足语。
To get there on time, they started early. =They started early to get there on time.
为了准时赶到那儿,他们很早就出发了。
【特别提醒】
表示目的也可用in order to和so as to,但so as to通常不位于句首。
He reads every day in order to/so as to improve writing skills.
为了提高写作技能,他每天阅读。
动词不定式作目的状语
动词不定式作宾语补足语
用于补充说明宾语的动作或状态,通常用于某些动词之后,构成“动词+宾语+不定式”结构。
用于“命令、要求、允许 ”类动词后,如 ask、tell、order、require、 allow、permit。
Sam asked me to help him. 萨姆让我帮助他。
2. 用于“ 希望、期望 ”类动词后,
如:want、wish、expect、would like。
Parents want their children to grow up healthily.
1. Emma went to sports center to try ice skating.
2. Emma didn’t want to go ice skating again at first.
3. Fu Xing told Emma that no one expected her to be perfect from the start.
4. The instructor told Emma not to give up so easily .
5. Fu Xing used to be scared of water, but he started swimming to get over her fear.
6. Fu Xing encougraged Emma to try ice skating again.

动词不定式其它用法

▶情态动词should,could 后接动词原形,
无人称和数的变化。
▶should,could 不能单独作谓语,只能和
其他动词一起构成谓语。
▶否定形式是在其后加not;变为一般疑
问句时,将should,could 提到主语前。
(1)用于委婉地提出建议或劝告,意为“应该”;
(2)用于表达义务或责任,意为“应该;应当”
(3)表示推测,意为“应该会;可能”;
(4)用于责备、命令或要求,语气比较强烈;
(5)用于征求对方的意见,意为“应该;
应当”,常用于主语是第一人称的疑问句中。
Should的用法
(1)表示建议。
(2)用于向对方委婉地提出请求或征求对方的许可。
(3)could 为can 的过去式,表示能力。
(4)表示推测,意为“可能”。

反身代词
反身代词是一种表示反射或强调的代词。有人称和数之分。它由第一人称、第二人称形容词性物主代词和第三人称人称代词宾格形式在词尾加-self 或-selves 构成。具体见下表:

用法
反身代词与它所指的名词或代词形成互指关系,在人称或数上保持一致。
(1)作动词(短语)的宾语或介词的宾语
She taught herself English. 她自学了英语。
They should learn to look after themselves. 他们应该学着照顾自己。
The little boy went to school by himself. 那个小男孩自己去上学了。
(2)作同位语
反身代词常用作主语或宾语的同位语,用于强调。
He himself built the house. 他自己建造了那座房子。
You should go and ask Tom himself.你应该去问问汤姆本人。
(3)作表语
反身代词可放在be,feel,seem,look 等系动词后作表语,用来描述身体或精神方面的感觉或状态。
Just be yourself. 做好你自己。

although的用法
although作连词,意为“尽管;然而”,引导让步状语从句,可放在主句前,也可放在主句后,相当于though。 在英语中,表示“虽然……但是……”时,although/though 不能和but在同一个句子中使用但可以与yet still同时使用。
Although sleep is so important, many people these days are not getting enough.
until作连词,意为“直到……为止”,引导时间状语从句,具体用法有:
①主句是肯定句时,其谓语动词用延续性动词,强调主句的动作或状态一直持续到从句的动作发生时为止,译成“直到……为止”。
I’ll stay here until you come back.
我会待在这里,直到你回来。
until的用法
so that意为“为了,以便”,引导目的状语从句,一般放在主句后,且不用逗号隔开,相当于in order that,从句谓语中多含有can、could、may、might等情态动词。
I gave you a map so that (=in order that) you wouldn’t get lost. 我给你一张地图以免你迷路。
I hope to bring erhu to the world so that more people can learn about traditional Chinese music. 我希望将二胡推广到全世界,让更多人了解中国传统音乐 。
