The teacher plays a video about elephants and show their various forms and activities to arouse students' interest. 2. The teacher asks students:What do you think of elephants? (二)While-reading: 1. The teacher shows pictures and questions in 1a and asks students to discuss what they know about elephants with their desk mates. 2. The teacher invites several groups of students to share their discussion results, and the teacher makes a brief summary and supplement. (三)While-reading: 1. Students read the passage quickly and choose the best title. A. What Is an Elephant? B. My Favourite Animal: The Elephant C. How to Save Elephants After the students answer, the teacher explains the methods and reasons for choosing the title. 2. Students read the passage carefully and answer the following questions: (1)When do Thai people celebrate Thai Elephant Day? (2)What do elephants use to carry things? (3)Are elephants clever? Students read the passage and answer questions, and teachers go around and give guidance. (四)Post-reading 1. Students read the passage again and complete the mind map in 1d . Teachers review the various parts of the mind map with students, like what they are, what they look like, what they can do, what they are like, how to save them. Students work independently on the mind map, and teachers tour and offer assistance. 2. Group work: Students share their mind maps in groups to complement and improve each other.
