11-15:B B A D A 16-20:B B C A C 21-22:A D
11. B. honesty
12. B. visited
13. A. wish
名词推理:前文说徐君“admired the sword very much, but too shy to ask”(很喜欢剑却不好意思开口),此处是季札察觉到他的“愿望”,anger(愤怒)、fear(恐惧)、stress(压力)均与语境矛盾。
14. D. at once
短语辨析:at once(立刻)对应“since he needed the sword for the mission”(因出使需要剑),说明他没立刻送剑;at first(起初)、at last(最后)、at times(有时)均不符合“因任务在身”的逻辑。
15. A. Unluckily
副词推理:季札返程时徐君已去世,是“不幸的”,Luckily(幸运地)、Suddenly(突然地)、Generally(通常)均不符合情感基调。
16. B. surprised
形容词辨析:随从不理解季札挂剑于亡君墓前的行为,所以是“惊讶的”;excited(兴奋的)、interested(感兴趣的)、relaxed(放松的)均与语境不符。
17. B. because
18. C. heard
动词推理:人们“听说”了季札的故事并称赞他,wrote(写)、changed(改变)、forgot(忘记)均不符合“传播故事”的语境。
19. A. passed down
短语辨析:pass down(传承)对应“for thousands of years”(数千年),说明故事被世代流传;taken up(占据)、turned down(拒绝)、given up(放弃)均与“流传”无关。
20. C. quality
名词辨析:守信是一个人应具备的“品质”,secret(秘密)、rule(规则)、problem(问题)均不符合“个人品德”的定位。
21. A. kept
动词辨析:keep a promise(守信)是固定搭配,与前文“break my promise”(违背承诺)形成对比;broken(打破)、avoided(避免)、discussed(讨论)均搭配不当。
22. D. follow
动词辨析:follow virtues(践行美德)是固定表达,learn(学习)、refuse(拒绝)、doubt(怀疑)均不符合“传承文化”的语境。
A
Many years ago, flying to another place sounded impossible. In fact, science has made it real. Could fantasy stories become true with the help of science?
Sleeping BeautyCould anyone sleep for 100 years? Of course not. But some animals and plants sleep long. Bears and snakes sleep for months through the winter. They slow down their breath, lower body temperatures and don’t eat or drink. Some seeds can dry themselves out and hide in the dark for years. If scientists can move these characteristics to humans, Sleeping Beauty might be born.
Talking to animalsIn the real world, talking to animals isn’t easy, but scientists are working towards it. Tiny cameras have collected thousands of hours’ animal conversations. Then, special programs connect the sounds to possible meanings. These programs may let us talk back to animals in the future.
Super strengthIn fairy stories, the lucky ones found magic food to get power. But it’s a pity that scientists haven’t invented any magic food that can make us strong in a second. In fact, we can get super strength with the help of smart machines. Mechanical exoskeletons (机械的外骨骼) are like wearing a robot. They can be used to help people with disabilities walk easily. That’s pretty super.
Invisible coat (隐形衣)Some animals are quite good at changing colours to hide themselves. If you want to have an invisible coat, here is good news for you! Scientists have invented new materials that can change the directions of light around objects. So far, they have managed to hide tiny objects. Hiding larger objects, such as humans, is even harder, but the new materials could cover our coat and make us at least harder to be seen.
23.What do bears and snakes probably do while sleeping through the winter?
①stop eating and drinking ②slow down their breath
③hide in the dark ④dry themselves out
⑤lower body temperatures
A.①②④ B.①②⑤ C.②④⑤ D.③④⑤
24.According to the passage, what progress have scientists made?
A.Helping people change skin colours. B.Talking to animals through programs.
C.Getting super strength through machines. D.Making people sleep for months in winter.
25.Which part of a magazine is the passage most probably taken from?
A.Sports. B.Travel. C.History. D.Science.
根据“Bears and snakes sleep for months through the winter. They slow down their breath, lower body temperatures and don’t eat or drink.”
根据“In fact, we can get super strength with the help of smart machines. Mechanical exoskeletons (机械的外骨骼) are like wearing a robot.”
B
“Click, click, click...” The drummer hit the drumsticks against each other to give a beat, and the band started to play. Kai played a guqin solo, and for most of the show, he played along with the rhythm of the drums. The band played faster and faster. Kai’s classmates jumped to their feet, clapping and screaming. When the music ended, there was an awkward (尴尬的) silence. They all looked at the teachers.
Mr Li asked, “What were you trying to express?”
Kai murmured, “I wanted to do something different...to modernize the guqin’s sound.”
“Well, it’s a good try. But you know it has over 3,000 years of history. I don’t think you’ve presented the characteristics well,” said Mr Li. “The music was...We could hardly hear the guqin,” added Miss Zhou. “I’m afraid I can’t give you high marks.”
“Please, can I have another chance?” begged Kai.
They finally agreed.
Alone in the hall later, Kai sat in his chair, feeling a little sad. “I understand what you were trying to do,” Kai looked up and saw Miss Zhou by his side. “But before you can break the rules, you have to master them.”
Kai was puzzled. What did she mean?
“The guqin is connected to nature. The bottom board represents the ground, and the rounded top board represents the sky. A wonderful guqin performance shows the harmony (和谐) between people and nature.”
“Miss Zhou, is it fine to play the guqin with other instruments?”
“Because it is so quiet,” replied Miss Zhou, “it’s usually played alone. Sometimes, it can be played with the dizi or another guqin. Every note matters. And you know, there’s Chinese philosophy (哲理) behind every form of art. That’s what makes Chinese art special. We should try hard to keep the value of traditions and connect them with modern life.”
“Is it true that Confucius played the guqin?”
“Exactly. Confucius believed that music was necessary for a well-rounded education. It could help a person develop his inner self.”
“Can I make it modern?” Kai was wondering if he had asked a stupid question.
“Ancient musicians followed traditions to show respect. To modernize it, try to find the right way to keep the value. How will you change your piece?”
“I’m not sure yet,” said Kai. “But I’m going to do something different again.”
That night, Kai kept thinking about the next show. “How can I present the guqin and balance the traditional spirit with a modern touch?” he wondered.
Then, he had an idea...
26.In Kai’s teachers’ eyes, he didn’t ________.
A.play the drums well B.work well with others
C.express personal feelings D.show the guqin’s value
27.Which of the following is the correct order of the story?
a. Miss Zhou gave her advice to Kai.
b. The classmates kept a short silence.
c. Kai asked for another chance to play.
d. The teachers pointed out Kai’s problem.
e. Kai played the guqin with drum rhythms.
A.a-e-d-c-b B.e-b-d-c-a C.e-a-b-d-c D.a-b-d-e-c
28.What lesson has Kai learned from his experience?
A.Strict rules will stop our creativity in music.
B.Traditional instruments should be modernized.
C.Creation requires us to understand the tradition first.
D.The guqin is necessary for a well-rounded education.
29.What might we hear in Kai’s next show?
A.Pop music in a traditional style. B.Folk music with local colour.
C.Country music in a Western style. D.Rock music with drums and dizi.
【答案】26.D 27.B 28.C 29.A
根据“But you know it has over 3,000 years of history. I don’t think you’ve presented the characteristics well”、“The music was...We could hardly hear the guqin”以及“I’m afraid I can’t give you high marks...we could hardly hear the guqin”可知老师认为Kai没有很好地展现古琴的价值。故选D。
根据“Kai played a guqin solo, and for most of the show, he played along with the rhythm of the drums”可知Kai和着鼓的节奏弹奏古琴,e排在首位,排除AD;根据“When the music ended, there was an awkward (尴尬的) silence”可知同学们沉默了一会儿,b排在第二,排除C。故选B。
根据“But before you can break the rules, you have to master them.”以及“To modernize it, try to find the right way to keep the value.”
根据“How can I present the guqin and balance the traditional spirit with a modern touch?” 故选A。

For those whose hearts often go off beat, pacemakers (心脏起搏器) are life savers. By providing a small electrical support at the right moment, they can keep a heart working properly.
Their main problem is that they use batteries. Even the best of them will run out of energy, and changing the batteries requires operations. Since operations are usually best avoided, the search has been on for long-lasting batteries. Different choices have been explored for a long time. Today, pacemakers with lithium (锂) batteries last between 5 and 15 years.
Zhang Hao, from Shanghai Second Military Medical University, and Yang Bin, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, tried a way to refill a pacemaker’s battery with electricity (电) by getting energy from inside the body. They report in the magazine ACS Nano that they have also used the heart muscle (肌肉) itself to work. Earlier efforts by other scientists to use heart muscle power to run pacemakers depend on piezoelectric materials These materials can be connected to a beating heart and produce electricity when they are slightly deformed (弯曲). This has worked, but not well enough: the output has rarely been over 5 microwatts (微瓦), while most pacemakers require at least ten.
Dr Zhang and Dr Yang believed that they could improve matters by making their piezoelectric materials more dramatically deformed, and then produce 15 microwatts, because the more deformed, the more electricity will be produced. They put their idea to the test in a 50kg pig. It made enough electricity for the pacemaker to work as expected.
Whether such an idea will pass human tests remains to be seen. But if it does, the days of pacemakers that need battery changes through operations may not last long.
30.According to the first two paragraphs, what is a problem with pacemakers?
A.They often go off beat.
B.Their energy can be used up.
C.Operations often influence them.
D.They sometimes do harm to hearts.
31.From this passage, what do we know about piezoelectric materials?
A.They can be used to produce electricity.
B.They can deform the heart to make it beat faster.
C.They were first used by Zhang Hao and Yang Bin.
D.They were proved to produce 15 microwatts in human tests.
32.What does the word “dramatically” in the 4th paragraph most probably mean?
A.Comfortably. B.Safely. C.Greatly. D.Rapidly.
33.What is the best title for this article?
A.No Need to Use Pacemakers
B.The Problem with Piezoelectric Materials
C.The Contribution of Chinese Scientists to Heart Operations
D.Chinese Scientists Found a New Way to Improve Pacemakers
【答案】30.B 31.A 32.C 33.D
根据“Their main problem is that they use batteries. Even the best of them will run out of energy, and changing the batteries requires operations.”
根据“These materials can be connected to a beating heart and produce electricity when they are slightly deformed (弯曲).” 故选A。
根据“because the more deformed, the more electricity will be produced”可知,因为变形程度越大,产生的电量就越多;可推测出“dramatically”意为“显著地”,与“greatly”意思相近。故选C。
D
“Did you even hear my question, Lucho?” asked Mr Parra.
The students at the front of the class turned round to watch the show. They were all smiling. Eva Villa had turned to watch too, but she wasn’t smiling. For a moment Eva looked straight into Lucho’s dark sad eyes and he could feel his face turning bright red. Then she turned back to the front and said something to the girl sitting next to her. The girl laughed.
Mr Parra walked towards Lucho’s desk. Lucho liked Mr Parra, although he didn’t like history class. There was too much information to remember.
“Maybe you could tell us what I have been talking about for the last twenty minutes, Lucho, while you were looking out of the window,” said Mr Parra.
Lucho’s heart felt heavy. He had no idea what to say. He looked down at his history textbook. The page was about “The stolen past” and there was a photograph of a gold object that looked very old. Next, he looked quickly at the board and saw one of Mr Parra’s favourite things: a mind map. Every time they had to write about something for homework, Mr Parra asked them to make a mind map.
The mind map had four empty circles joined by four lines to a bigger circle in the centre. In the centre circle Mr Parra had written the word “guaca”. Lucho tried to remember where he had heard the word before.
They were all waiting. Lucho looked out of the window for a second and saw a little yellow bird. Yes, that was it! Guaca was a word that his grandmother had used, but what did it mean? The class was still waiting for him to speak. Suddenly he heard the little yellow bird singing in the tree outside and he opened his mouth.
“We were talking about guaca, sir,” he answered.
“And what is guaca, Lucho?” Mr Parra asked.
“Guaca means ‘special object’. An antique object that was made by South American tribes, usually from gold, sir.”
Mr Parra looked surprised. He hadn’t expected Lucho to know the answer.
The girl next to Eva turned to look at Lucho again. The rest of Lucho’s classmates had lost interest. Lucho felt better, but Mr Parra hadn’t finished with him yet.
“That’s correct, Lucho,” said Mr Parra. “And what is today’s homework?”
Homework? Lucho hadn’t heard Mr Parra talk about homework. He looked at the mind map on the blackboard again. Outside, the bird had stopped singing.
34.What did Mr Parra draw on the blackboard?
A. B. C. D.
35.When Lucho’s heart felt heavy, he probably felt a sense of ________.
A.peace B.pity C.hope D.shame
36.What is the best title for this story?
A.A Strict Teacher B.The Yellow Bird C.A Special Object D.The Mind Map
根据“The mind map had four empty circles joined by four lines to a bigger circle in the centre.”
根据“Maybe you could tell us what I have been talking about for the last twenty minutes, Lucho, while you were looking out of the window,”及“Lucho’s heart felt heavy. He had no idea what to say.”

In today’s China, ordinary people can quickly become Internet celebrities (名人). The stories of “The Chicken Chop Brother” in Jingdezhen and “The Dough Figurine Master” in Wuhu are perfect examples.
“Chicken Chop Brother” is a nickname for Mr. Li Junyong, a 48-year-old street vendor in Jingdezhen. In September 2025, a video of him selling chicken chops became popular online.
What makes him so popular is his “special style”. While frying chicken, he talks to customers in a very funny and cheerful way, providing what people call great “emotional value”. He has become a local celebrity by following his own rules, like charging students one yuan less.
His sudden fame has drawn huge crowds and many live-streamers to his stall (摊位). Seeing this opportunity, the local cultural and tourism department quickly appointed (任命) him as a “tourism promotion ambassador (旅游推广大使)” for Jingdezhen. This smart move helped turn his popularity into good attention for the whole city.
In the ancient city of Wuhu, “Master Wang Jingyang”, a 58-year-old artisan, has drawn the public's attention with his skill recently. In November 2025, he was officially appointed as a “Cultural Tourism Recommendation Officer” for Wuhu City.
Master Wang has been practicing his skill for over 40 years. His stall is now a must-visit spot, with long lines of customers waiting to buy his lively dough figurines (面人). His creations are a mix of traditional figures, like the Monkey King, and popular modern cartoon characters, such as Labubu, which makes his art interesting to everyone.
The Wuhu government provided him with a lot of support, such as helping manage the crowds at his stall. Because of this good management, Master Wang’s personal success also made the city’s culture seem better and more famous.
Their successes are more than just personal achievements. They represent a beautiful connection between traditional street culture and modern Internet trends.

A
Many years ago, flying to another place sounded impossible.

Earlier efforts by other scientists to use heart muscle power to run pacemakers depend on piezoelectric materials (压电材料). These materials can be connected to a beating heart and produce electricity when they are slightly deformed (弯曲).

41.Was “Chicken Chop Brother” appointed as a tourism promotion ambassador?
42.How long has Master Wang been practicing his skill?
43.What do “Chicken Chop Brother” and “Dough Figurine Master” have in common according to the passage?
44.Give an example around you who makes a difference to others and tell us what you learn from him/her. (about 30 words)

On Pingjiang Road in Suzhou, 65-year-old Ms Wu runs a traditional tea house for 30years. She never expected 45 (oneself) to become a tea master who helped build a cultural bridge.
It started in 2015 when a German tourist named Klaus walked into her shop. With the help of a phone app, Ms Wu 46 (patient) showed him the way to properly brew (沏) Biluochun, Suzhou’s famous green tea. Klaus returned every day that week and 47 (bring) more friends each time.
Seeing how 48 (interest) they were in Chinese tea, Ms Wu started a weekly activity called “Tea Culture Saturdays”.

On Pingjiang Road in Suzhou, 65-year-old Ms Wu runs a traditional tea house for 30 years.
She showed foreigners 49 to brew tea with traditional methods—from choosing the water temperature to 50 (follow) tea-making rules. Her daughter Lily, a college student, helped translate.
Soon, her tea house was always crowded with 51 (visit), including students and business people from many places. “I used to think foreigners wouldn’t understand our tea culture, 52 they love it deeply. Some of them even treat their friends with Chinese tea at home,” Ms Wu said.
One of her favourite 53 (moment) was when Sarah, a Canadian, gave her a notebook filled with tea notes written in both English and Chinese. “This is why I keep teaching,” Ms Wu said, showing 54 treasured notebook.
Now, her tea house appears in travel guides as “Suzhou’s cultural living room”. For tourists, every cup of tea served is a window on the tea culture of this ancient city.
