Passage 2
(2026·吉林长春师大附中·校考)
When babies are really young, they like to copy what their parents say. But at some point, they start becoming “creators”. 6
According to a new study by scientists from the University of Chicago, English-speaking children start making their own sentences at about 2.5 years old. 7 For English, one important rule is that determiners (限定词), like “a” and “the”, go in front of nouns.
For 90 minutes every four months, the scientists recorded 64 English-speaking children talking with their parents. The scientists found that at around 30 months old, kids started using both “a” and “the” in front of the same noun, for example, “dog”. 8 What’s more, they were using the patter to create more expressions their parents had never said.
9 To solve this problem, scientists made a model. Like a human child, the model could find language patterns in the recordings and predict the words to come. “For the most part, it does what the kid does,” Susan Goldin-Meadow, one of the scientists, told Neuroscience News. The team then waited to see when the model produced its first new determiner-noun language pattern. The result matched the 30-month schedule.
10 They can also help to better teach kids with special needs, such as those learning sign language, wrote the scientists in their paper.

主题03 人与社会——人际交往
Passage 1
(2026·吉林长春二道·联考)
Getting hugged by someone you care about can be a wonderfully encouraging experience.
1 They can even help to lower stress levels and improve our health. 2 Then how can this problem be solved? One idea that scientists have suggested is developing social robots that can hug people. These robots could probably offer lonely people the active feelings of getting hugged without the need to know a person who hugs them.
However, creating a hug robot that is well-received by people is no simple task. For example, if the robot is too large or has a design (设计) like something terrible, people may feel uneasy about hugging it. 3
A recent study focused on the development of Moffully-II, a newly developed hug robot. It looks like a large, human-shaped teddy bear and stands at two meters tall. 4 It can also tap someone on the back. Copying the actions that humans do during hugs is necessary for making the hug feel real.
During the study, volunteers who received hugs from Moffully-II showed great interest. 5 Also, they found the hugs to be more enjoyable in general.
Hug robots show possibilities for improving the well-being of those who are short of hugs. This includes people in nursing homes who may benefit from the comforting effects of hugs, even if they are provided by a robot.
阅读短文,把A—E五个句子填入文章空缺处,使短文内容完整。
A.During a hug, it is able to move its arms.
B.So, it is important for researchers to carry out further studies.

Passage 1
(2026·吉林长春新区·一模)
AI-powered speech translation (人工智能语音翻译) is nothing new nowadays. The working step is to record speech, change it into text, translate that into another language, and change it back to speech. 1
Usually, some official languages, like English or French, can be easily translated. Many other kinds of languages can’t be recorded by the system in advance. 2 After all, we note that about 3,000 languages in the world only have spoken forms. A new open-source system that can translate speech from one language into another in real time can solve this problem.
With the help of technology, communication can be much easier. The new system is hoped to be used to improve communication in both the real world and the virtual (虚拟的) world. So far, the system is only able to provide easy translations between English and Hokkien. Hokkien is another name for the Minnan language. 3 The system uses several ways to perform this task, including translating speech into acoustics (声学) and then forming wave forms from it.
Next, AI models will be trained by using Standard Chinese text as a translator between English and Hokkien. 4 According to a researcher, however, this is just the first step toward making real-time translation between languages and reality in the future.
5 Only by breaking down language difficulties, such AI technology will hopefully lead to greater understanding among speakers of different languages.
阅读短文,把A-E五个句子填入文中空缺处,使短文内容完整。
A.However, this method has clear disadvantages.
B.Because they don’t have standard written forms.
C.There is still a long way to go for the technology.
D.It’s a kind of local Chinese language that does not have a standard written form.
E.At present, the system can simply translate only one sentence at a time.
Passage 2
(2026·吉林长春汽开·联考)
Technology has greatly changed the way we live, making our daily life faster, easier, and more convenient. 6 As Elon Musk once said, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be the best or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity.”
First, smart devices (设备) make communication easier. In the past, sending letters took days, but now we can send messages and make video calls in seconds. 7 Ride-sharing apps like DiDi use AI to match drivers and passengers quickly. This makes sharing ideas and emotions simpler than ever.
Second, AI improves healthcare. Hospitals now use AI systems to diagnose (诊断) and treat diseases (治病). Advanced-devices, such as smartwatches, monitor heart rates and remind people to exercise. 8
Third, education becomes personalized. Online learning tools like “AI teachers” provide exercises based on students’ weakness. 9 Even students in remote (遥远的) areas can have the best materials with just a smartphone.
Fourth, smart homes are changing daily life. Devices like voice-controlled lights, robot cleaners, and automatic temperature systems save time and energy. 10 So we have safer and more comfortable living environments.
In a word, technology makes life easier, but we must use technology with real-life activities to enjoy a better future. By using technology wisely, we can build a smarter and happier world for everyone.

Passage 1
(2026·吉林长春九台·联考)
Everybody tells lies (说谎), whether they are big or small. 1 Some people lie to make others feel good. Some people lie because they are afraid of being punished.
We all know that lying is wrong. But sometimes, we prefer to tell some lies to stop someone from being upset by the truth. 2
There is a difference between a white lie and a real lie. If you’re lying to protect someone’s feelings, then you are telling a white lie. For example, your friend Ben shows up at school with a terrible haircut. If he asks for your opinion, you might tell a harmless lie to make him feel good, instead of telling him the truth.
“Your reason for telling a white lie has to be active,” says Robert Feldman, a professor who studies lying. “ 3 ”
Also, research shows that people who tell white lies are better liked than people who tell the harsh (残酷的) truth. In other words, white lies might help with your friendships.
4 You’ve probably told a few white lies that seemed harmless, but are they really harmless? We tell a tiny lie, but then to cover that lie, we have to tell another one, then another, and another—each gets bigger and bigger. 5 Therefore, before you tell a white lie, ask yourself if you’re sure it will lead to a better result in the long run.

D.It should make the other person feel good about himself.
E.In the end, we might tell more harmful lies in the future.
Passage 2
(2026·吉林长春52中学·校考)
Have you ever wondered why some people live long, but others don’t? Many scientists have studied the mysteries of a long life for years.
Thousands of studies support the idea that a long life is influenced by two major (主要的) things.
It’s not surprising that genetics (遗传学) is a major influence. 6 They have parents and grandparents who lived long lives. Their parents have passed on these genes to them. Howard Friedman, a health scientist, says genetics explains about 1/3 of why people live to an old age.
The other major influence is basic health care. 7 Besides, eating good food and drinking clean water are both helpful.
However, recently, scientists have found the way a person thinks about life can influence how long that person lives!
8 For instance, in Okinawa, Japan, plenty of people are over the age of 100. They have an idea called ikigai or life purpose. Scientists believe it’s one of the reasons why Okinawa has so many long-lived people.
Staying active is the second important personal quality. It’s not the same as doing difficult exercise. 9
Another quality is helping people. When researching the influence of love, scientists expected to find that people who felt loved would live longer. But this wasn’t what they found. Feeling loved made people have a better feeling. 10
People can’t change their genes. And it’s difficult to improve a whole community’s health care system. However, the new research results show there are things each of us can do to help change how long we live.
阅读短文,把A~E五个句子填入文中空缺处,使短文内容完整。
A.Some people’s bodies simply have special advantages.
B.Many studies show that having a sense of purpose is important.
C.However, loving and caring for others did make people live longer.

E.Instead, it’s the most important to remain active in a natural way, doing something you enjoy.

Passage 1
(2026·吉林长春德惠·联考)
Chinese writing has a history of six or seven thousand years. Calligraphy (书法), the art of writing, is almost as old as writing itself.
In ancient times, written Chinese was the first symbols and pictures. 1 Later, characters and even full sentences were written on animal bones or shells for communication.
With time passing by, a number of written forms appeared. Each had its own local style. In the 3rd century BC, the first emperor, Qinshihuang, set the same standard for the written characters—“small seal script”. 2 That writing system was very important in uniting (联合) the Chinese people and culture. At the same time, as people needed to write faster in daily life and work, Cheng Miao developed another style called “clerical” script. 3 By Han times, calligraphers had created a new style known as “regular” script. From the Tang Dynasty, it became the standard form used in government exams.
4 What we needed were the Four Treasures of the study: a brush, ink (墨) stick, ink stone and paper. Students of calligraphy practiced the main types of script and improved their skills by copying the works of past masters. With the increase of their knowledge and practice, they slowly developed their own styles.
The art of calligraphy reached a high point in the 4th century. At that time, there were many famous calligraphers. 5 Calligraphy remains a living art form to this day. It has become part of the school courses to pass on the Chinese culture.

Paper cutting is a traditional Chinese art. It uses simple tools, such as knives and scissors, to cut out pictures from paper. 6 But long before that, when paper wasn’t invented, Chinese people already used similar skills to make cutouts on leaves and silk. Chinese paper cutting spread widely during the Qing Dynasty. 7
The themes (主题) of paper cutting can be anything, from historical events and fairy tale characters to plants and animals. Pictures of paper cutting are so lively that they look like real ones. 8 For example, people put red pictures of paper cutting on windows during the Spring Festival for good luck.
Paper cutting seems easy to learn, but actually it’s much difficult to do it well. “This art was invented for decoration (装饰) in the very beginning,” said Fang Jianguo, who has made pictures of paper cutting for over 30 years. “ 9 Without good drawing skills, you can’t make good pictures of paper cutting.”
Paper cutting tradition also has new development. Li Baofeng is a 54-year-old folk artist. “Traditional pictures of paper cutting are often made with red paper, which seems to be a little boring. So I want to make something new,” says Li. 10 Such pictures of paper cutting have amazing 3D effects (效果).
Now more and more people love paper cutting works and buy them as gifts for their friends. The next time you see pictures of paper cutting, take some time to enjoy them.
