This is a notification to inform you that our new campus is still under construction and IT won't be finished until the end of may. The P. E. Classes will still take place at the old campus this semester because the new gym will take another three months to complete. Please don't forget to take away sports clothes and shoes. After P. E. Classes, teachers and cleaners found clothes and shoes scattered all around the gym last week. We really hope that such behavior will not happen in the new gym. The chemistry laboratory will have two doors. One will open straight to the school yard, and the other one will lead to the nearby canteen. It's very important for students not to enter the laboratory with food. Those who do IT will be punished. Everyone will need a new card to enter the new teaching building. There will be an electronically controlled the door that requires scanning the card. As there will be no more guards. You can enter the building if you forget your card and remember to be at the school bus stop several minutes before the scheduled time. The drivers won't wait for you for more than a minute. Smart devices aren’t magic; they’re just connected machines with intelligent systems to help you work more efficiently and save time and money. They don’t directly lower the cost of heating your home or washing your clothes, but they do help you make better choices that bring great savings.
Take, for example, a smart plug (插头) in the basement that controls a wall heater: it is a 1500W unit, and in the winter, it usually runs for a few hours per day as needed. With the smart plug, you can make sure it’s off at night and when you leave the house without having to remember to turn it off by hand. If it is used even one hour less per day, that adds up to $8 in savings per month — enough to quickly cover the cost of the smart plug itself.
Devices and thermostats (恒温器) with built-in smart technology can be even more cost-efficient, since they can operate during off-peak hours or learn from your daily habits.
Typical cost savings of common smart devices

Note that while the costs listed are typical regular prices, many affordable smart devices are likely available from your energy provider at a huge discount.
21.What can help cover the cost of the smart plug quickly?
A.Running it at night. B.Turning it off by yourself.
C.Using it during off-peak hours. D.Reducing its daily use by one hour.
22.Which device saves most yearly according to the table?
A.Smart washer. B.Smart fridge. C.Smart dryer. D.Smart plug.
23.What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?

For a final class project, Sam’s task was to record a relationship using only digital traces. While peers documented friendships or romances, Sam knew his subject instantly: his father. A quiet civil engineer, his dad’s online world was limited — mostly industry articles and the occasional formal family photo. Their own chats were practical: “Running late.” “Dinner’s ready.” To Sam, his father’s digital self felt like a closed book in another language.
The project turned Sam into a digital archaeologist. Scrolling through years of his own posts, he found few direct comments from his dad. But then he shifted focus, searching for echoes instead.
He found them attached to his own life. A childhood photo of his first bike ride bore a comment: “Balance is a learned skill. Proud of your persistence.” A link Sam shared about a bridge in Norway prompted his dad to privately send three detailed engineering PDFs — a gesture Sam had acknowledged with just a thumbs-up.
The deepest trace was a pattern. Every time Sam posted a milestone — a science fair win, a debate final — within a day, his father would share a dense technical article linked to the topic. It was never “congratulations.” It was his quiet language of care: “I see your world. Here’s a piece of mine to meet it.”
For his project, Sam built a private website called “The Bridge.” On one side, he included his milestone posts. Beside each, he placed his father’s corresponding echo: that article, that PDF, that concise comment.
Presenting his project, Sam concluded: “We think social media is for broadcasting. But for the quiet ones, it can be a tool for witnessing. My dad’s record wasn’t on his profile; it was hidden at the edges of mine. This project didn’t just teach me about media. It taught me to translate a silence. I’d mistaken for indifference. Sometimes, love isn’t in the post. It’s in the stubborn, quiet act of showing up, click after click, year after year, in the only language you know.”
24.How would Sam describe his father’s “digital self”?
A.Simple and obvious. B.Active and social.
C.Expressive and detailed. D.Reserved and understated.
25.When Sam posted about his life online, his father sent technical articles to _________.
A.show his care and attention B.avoid leaving direct comment
C.educate Sam on related topics D.inspire Sam to study engineering
26.According to the text, social media serves as _________.
A.a form of the father’s silent involvement
B.a platform for son’s emotional expression
C.a display of Sam’s academic achievements
D.a record of the father’s professional interests
27.What does this story intend to convey?
A.A tree is known by its fruit. B.Love is written in deeds.
C.A good beginning is half done. D.Never judge a book by its cover.

(原创题)A humanoid robot made by Galbot, a robot company in Beijing, has become the world’s first robot that can play tennis. The robot was developed together with Tsinghua University. It does not use fixed, pre-set programs. Instead, it makes decisions in real time and moves its whole body freely to play with human players.
The key new technology is the LATENT algorithm (算法). It lets the robot learn from limited human movement data, such as running, swinging and steps. The robot can then “see” the incoming ball, guess its flying path, get into the right place and hit the ball back by itself.
This big step forward in technology means much to the robot industry. It shows great progress in movement control, real-time observation and decision-making. It also makes it possible to use robots in more different environments.
Galbot is already using this technology in retail (零售) business. It runs more than 40 robot-served shops in China. Beijing’s Haidian District has hundreds of AI and robot companies. It is quickly becoming an important center for humanoid robot development.
28.What is special about the humanoid robot?
A. It is produced by Tsinghua University.
B. It is the first tennis-playing robot in the world.
C. It can communicate with people freely.
D. It can work as a shop assistant only.
29.What helps the robot play tennis according to Paragraph 2?
A. Its special body structure. B. The LATENT algorithm.
C. Full data of human movements. D. A high-speed camera.
30.What can we infer from the text?
A. The robot will take the place of tennis players.
B. Haidian District supports robot development strongly.
C. Robots can only be used in limited places at present.
D. Galbot is the world’s biggest robot company.
31.What is the main idea of the text?
A. A new tennis robot and its technology influence the industry.
B. How to teach robots to communicate with humans.
C. The fast development of retail business in China.
D. Different kinds of humanoid robots in the world.

(新情境)Denmark has had mail delivery since the 1600s. Now, the government-run postal service says it will no longer carry letters starting soon. Instead, the service will focus on delivering packages. Many postal services around the world are struggling, and some people think Denmark won’t be the only country to stop delivering letters.
The government-run PostNord used to deliver billions of letters every year. But the service says the number of letters it carries has dropped by more than 90% since 2000. The rapid drop was partly the result of a new law that greatly raised the price of sending letters. Even so, the letter-carrying part of PostNord was losing money last year. But the increased cost isn’t the only reason why letters are more rare. These days, with emails, texts and messaging apps, digital communications are far more common. Many people don’t have any need to send paper letters anymore.
Some people are worried that the change will mainly hurt older people and those who live in remote areas. People in these groups are less likely to be online, and may rely more heavily on letters for communication. This suggests that future letter service will likely exist as a specialized, market-driven offering rather than a universal public service. So, a private company says it will take over the delivery of letters in Denmark.
Writing and sending letters is much less common in this digital age, which has left many postal services struggling. Some postal services are losing money, and they may face hard choices in the future. Although the era of letter delivery is coming to a close, nostalgia (怀旧) for the postal age remains strong. In Denmark, PostNord put its red post boxes up for sale online. There was so much interest that the website almost crashed, and the post boxes sold out very quickly.
32.What will become the new focus of Denmark’s government-run postal service?
A.Package delivery. B.Digital messaging.
C.Mail collection. D.Stamp production.
33.Why did PostNord decide to stop delivering letters?
A.To raise the price of letters. B.To focus on digital messages.
C.To stop its financial losses. D.To obey a new government law.
34.What is the suggested method for the elderly to receive letters next?
A.By community support. B.By private delivery service.
C.By public postal service. D.By local digital communication.
35.What do the strong sales of red post boxes show?
A.A lasting need for letters. B.Their new practical value.
C.A successful sales strategy. D.Public affection for the past.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分, 满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
In every culture throughout time, the kitchen has had a powerful influence. The simple practice of sitting down together at the table gives us the chance to connect and communicate. 36
It depends on where you live, your age, and other factors, but the answer is, yes. Our intentions for “home” are evolving.
37 Fast-paced lifestyles and work schedules make it hard to find time to shop for groceries and prepare meals. Online food delivery services have taken off, too. In 2016, one in 10 Chinese were ordering food online. Throughout Europe, online ordering is capturing 56 percent of the market in Sweden and 43 percent in Austria. In India, online food ordering is expected to reach close to $12m(US)by 2023.
While there is a trend towards bring-in and order-in food, as well as dining out, the kitchen is still a core in home life. Food & Wine cited a survey in 22 countries asking about cooking habits. 38 At the lower end were South Koreans, who spent just 3.7 hours per week cooking. People in India were at the top with 13.2 hours per week spent in the kitchen.
Simply being in the kitchen, cooking and eating with other people, can have healthy benefits. Regardless of its size, the kitchen is a warm and inviting place. 39 The difference is, now you can follow a recipe on your iPad while cooking.
It’s true that impersonal appliances are connecting to each other and to us. Refrigerators order vegetables. Cooktop hoods with sensors turn on by themselves. While technology and our expectations for the kitchen are shape-shifting in real time, the fundamentals remain the same. 40
A.So is cooking a way to express yourself?
B.The global average was almost 6.5 hours.
C.But is our relationship to the kitchen changing?
D.It’s like gathering around a campfire in the past.
E.People seem to be spending less time cooking worldwide.
F.Now more of them are eating outside the home more frequently.
G.The kitchen is where we connect with food and company in the soul of the home.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Winter seemed to have lasted longer than any other season in the year. With Christmas now just a distant memory, Nina decided to plan a project to fill the dark evenings. That was the best thing to do, to get through the endless weeks until better weather started.
Spring was traditionally the time for cleaning, all that extra daylight showing how dirty and dusty the house had become. Instead, Nina decided to spare as much time as was needed to sort out the family photos. Although this sounded like a fairly easy task, the reality was an entire cupboard in the dining room, stuffed with packets of prints. It was truly a massive project.
“Are you sure you want to do this, love?” her husband Steve asked doubtfully. “If you empty all the photos out of the cupboard, they might not fit back in…”
Nina dismissed his concerns. She decided to strike while the iron was hot and began emptying the cupboard of its contents the following afternoon.
As she looked at the photos of her family from years ago, it felt like looking back in time. Her children were now in their twenties and had busy lives and careers. As a result, Nina and Steve didn’t see them nearly as often as they used to. The fact that the photos stopped fifteen years ago only made it worse.
“The house is full of real life nowadays, and we don’t even have pictures of them to look at,” Nina murmured through tears. Those missing fifteen years felt like a gaping hole in their family history.
“You could always look at the hundreds of pictures you have of them on your phone,” Steve pointed out gently.
“It’s not the same!” Nina stated dramatically. “And what if I lose my phone? All those photos will be gone forever!”
注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Steve wiped her tears gently and suggested printing her phone photos for new albums.

This is a notification to inform you that our new campus is still under construction, and it won’t be finished until the end of May. The P.E. classes will still take place at the old campus this semester, because the new gym will take another three months to complete. Please don’t forget to take away your sports clothes and shoes after P.E. classes. Teachers and cleaners found clothes and shoes scattered all around the gym last week. We really hope that such behavior will not happen in the new gym. The chemistry laboratory will have two doors. One will open straight to the schoolyard, and the other one will lead to the nearby canteen. It’s very important for students not to enter the laboratory with food. Those who do it will be punished. Everyone will need a new card to enter the new teaching building. There will be an electronically controlled door that requires scanning the card. As there will be no more guards, you can’t enter the building if you forget your card. And, remember to be at the school bus stop several minutes before the scheduled time. The drivers won’t wait for you for more than a minute.
第二部分 阅读(共两节, 满分50分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Smart devices aren’t magic; they’re just connected machines with intelligent systems to help you work more efficiently and save time and money.

A.To list data. B.To prove value. C.To teach skills. D.To compare prices.
【答案】21.D 22.C 23.B

B
【答案】24.D 25.A 26.A 27.B
【解析】本文是一篇记叙文。主要讲述萨姆通过课程项目挖掘父亲的数字痕迹,发现父亲沉默内敛却深沉的爱与陪伴。
24.推理判断题。根据第一段中的“A quiet civil engineer, his dad’s online world was limited — mostly industry articles and the occasional formal family photo. Their own chats were practical: “Running late.” “Dinner’s ready.” To Sam, his father’s digital self felt like a closed book in another language. (父亲是一位内敛的土木工程师,他的网络世界很有限——大多是行业文章和偶尔正式的家庭照片。他们的聊天内容都很实际:“要迟到了。”“晚饭好了。”在萨姆看来,父亲的数字形象就像一本用另一种语言写成的合着的书。)”以及后文父亲从不直接夸赞,只用技术文章默默回应可推知,Sam认为父亲的“数字形象”是含蓄、低调、不善言辞的。故选D项。
25.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“It was never “congratulations.” It was his quiet language of care: “I see your world. Here’s a piece of mine to meet it.”(从来没有“恭喜你”。这是他沉默的关心语言:“我看到了你的世界。这是我的一部分,来与它相遇。”)”可知,父亲发送专业文章是为了表达关心与关注。故选A项。
26.细节理解题。根据第六段中的“But for the quiet ones, it can be a tool for witnessing. My dad’s record wasn’t on his profile; it was hidden at the edges of mine.(但对于沉默的人来说,它可以是一种见证的工具。我父亲的记录不在他的主页上,而是藏在我的动态边缘。)”可知,社交媒体成为父亲默默参与儿子生活的方式。故选A项。
27.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是最后一段中的“Sometimes, love isn’t in the post. It’s in the stubborn, quiet act of showing up, click after click, year after year, in the only language you know.(有时候,爱并不在帖子里。它存在于一次次点击、年复一年、用你唯一懂得的方式默默出现的执着行动中。)”可知,故事意在表达爱是藏在行动中的。故选B项。
C

A.By community support. B.By private delivery service.
C.By public postal service. D.By local digital communication.
35.What do the strong sales of red post boxes show?

Respect Food and Rules: Canteen Manners Matter
Recently, improper behaviors exist in our canteen: used tableware is left unreturned, and a lot of food is wasted daily, which disrupt order and show disrespect for labor.
As campus members, we must cherish food. Every grain comes from farmers’ toil under sun and rain, with efforts from planting to serving. Following canteen rules is basic for civilized students — good etiquette reflects our quality and builds a harmonious campus where everyone benefits. It’s not just a rule, but a way to honor labor and pass on virtues.
Let’s act now! Please take proper food portions and return tableware to designated areas. It’s high time that we encouraged classmates to join in creating a better dining environment!

注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Steve wiped her tears gently and suggested printing her phone photos for new albums.

【参考范文】
Steve wiped her tears gently and suggested printing her phone photos for new albums. The idea immediately lit up Nina’s eyes. Together, they began scrolling through years of digital memories — smiles frozen in time, holidays bathed in sunshine, quiet moments that told their family’s unwritten stories. Night after night, they sat side by side, selecting, ordering, and waiting for the prints to arrive. When they did, Nina carefully placed each new photo into crisp, clean albums, weaving the recent past back into the family’s visual tapestry. Steve, watching her quiet joy, decided to take a small step of his own — he picked up the phone and quietly called both of their children, suggesting they might visit home soon, if time allowed.
A few days later, Nina heard the front door open in the middle of the day. To her astonishment, there stood her son and daughter, with wide smiles. “Dad said you were rebuilding our history,” her son explained, giving her a hug. “We wanted to see it — and you.” Their eyes fell on the open albums, where old faded prints now neighbored the shiny new ones. “Mom, you’ve brought us all back together,” her daughter said softly, touching a recent picture. In that moment, surrounded by images of the past and the living presence of her loved ones, Nina felt a profound sense of joy and completeness. The project had not just organized photos; it had, in the most beautiful way, brought her family closer together again.

Device

Average savings per year
Savings percent
Notes
Smart washer
$900 vs. $600
$20 - $35
10% to 15%

Cuts wasted power from devices
Note that while the costs listed are typical regular prices, many affordable smart devices are likely available from your energy provider at a huge discount.
21.What can help cover the cost of the smart plug quickly?
A.Running it at night. B.Turning it off by yourself.
C.Using it during off-peak hours. D.Reducing its daily use by one hour.
22.Which device saves most yearly according to the table?
A.Smart washer. B.Smart fridge. C.Smart dryer. D.Smart plug.
23.What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A.To list data. B.To prove value. C.To teach skills. D.To compare prices.

注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
