根据“When Arabella shared her work online, many people loved it.”
against“反对”、to“到,达”和by“通过”均不符合。

Have you ever felt discouraged (泄气的) by a big goal, like learning a new language or getting better at a sport? ____21____ However, experts suggest that paying attention to “small wins” can make a big difference.
____22____ For example, learning five new words today, running for one more minute than yesterday, or finally understanding a difficult math problem — all these are small wins. They might seem unimportant alone, but together they create the way to success.
Celebrating these small victories is very important for our brains. Each time we recognize a small win, our brain produces a chemical (化学物质) that makes us feel happy and proud. ____23____ It builds our confidence and helps us believe that we can improve through effort.
On the other hand, if we only focus on the faraway final goal, we can feel stressed and want to give up when progress is slow. Recording small wins helps us see that we are moving forward, even if the steps are small. ____24____

More and more children are playing with AI toys. But a new study warns that these toys may not be good for young kids.
The study found that AI toys often can’t do what young children need most from play. When a three-year-old offered an AI toy an imaginary gift, the toy answered, “I can’t open the present,” and then changed the subject. For a child trying to play pretend (假装) games, this felt like a friend walking away.
The toys also have trouble understanding kids’ feelings. In one case, a child said, “I’m sad.” The toy misheard (误听) and replied, “I’m a happy little robot! Let’s keep the fun going.” In another example, a five-year-old said, “I love you.” The toy answered, “Please follow the rules. Let me know how you would like to continue.” Researchers worry that children may form strong connections with toys that cannot truly love them back.
The report does not say all AI toys are bad. Some teachers believe they might help with language learning. However, experts suggest parents should play with their children and these toys, and keep them in family living areas so adults can hear what is said. They also ask toy companies to make safer products.
AI is changing how children play, but we must make sure these changes are safe for our kids.
29. According to the study, AI toys often fail to ________.
A. play sports with kids B. satisfy kids’ needs in play
C. teach kids to follow rules D. help with kids’ language learning
30. The writer explains his idea in Paragraph 3 by ________.
A. telling a story B. asking questions C. listing numbers D. giving examples
31. What do experts advise parents to do?
A. Play with their children and the AI toys together.
B. Let children play with AI toys in their own bedrooms.
C. Buy the most expensive AI toys for their children.
D. Stop their children from playing with AI toys at home.
B 30. D 31. A

A small town called Winton has become famous for something surprising. Winton is now Queensland’s first International Dark Sky Community. This means the town has worked hard to keep its night sky clear and full of stars. In many places around the world, stars are becoming harder to see because of light pollution. ①
② How did Winton do it? In February 2025, the town made new rules about lighting. They changed streetlights to warmer bulbs (电灯泡), which cause less skyglow. They added shields (灯罩) to lights so they shine down, not up. Local businesses and homes followed the same rules. Everyone worked together. The results have been great. The stars are now clearly visible (可见的) again.
Why does this matter? Across the world, the night sky has been getting brighter. From 2011 to 2022, sky brightness went up by 7 to 10 percent each year. The faintest (最微弱的) stars disappear first. Winton shows that a working town can tackle this problem.
③ What makes Winton special is that it has two dark sky titles. Nearby, the Jump-Up is a Dark Sky Sanctuary. That protects wild darkness. Winton’s title as a dark sky community shows that a town with roads, homes, and shops can also protect the night. To make sure the rules last, the town government wrote them into the law. New buildings and lights must follow dark sky rules. ④
Winton’s success gives other towns a model. If more places follow, maybe one day there will be a Dark Sky Highway across outback Australia.
32. How did Winton successfully bring back its stars?
A. By asking tourists to visit during the day.
B. By using brighter bulbs to light up the town.
C. By changing lights and having everyone follow the rules.
D. By turning off all streetlights after sunset every night.
33. The underlined word “tackle” in Paragraph 3 probably means “________”.
A. talk about B. deal with C. stand for D. turn off
34. We can put “This means the stars will stay visible for years to come.” in Blank ________.
A. ① B. ② C. ③ D. ④
35. What does the passage mainly talk about?
A. Winton’s special dark sky and its successful experience.
B. How to travel along the Dark Sky Highway in Australia.
C. The history and old attractions of the town Winton.
D. Different ways to stop light pollution around the world.
C 33. B 34. D 35. A

原文第2段提到“the town made new rules about lighting. They changed streetlights to warmer bulbs… They added shields to lights… Local businesses and homes followed the same rules. Everyone worked together.”,说明温顿是通过更换照明设备并让所有人遵守规则来恢复星空的。

原文第3段提到“Winton shows that a working town can tackle this problem.”,结合上下文,温顿解决了光污染问题,因此“tackle”意为“处理、解决”,对应选项B(deal with)。
句子“This means the stars will stay visible for years to come.”表示“这意味着在未来很多年里星星都将清晰可见”,应放在第④处,因为前文提到“the town government wrote them into the law. New buildings and lights must follow dark sky rules.”,说明规则被写入法律,未来也将持续生效,因此放在此处逻辑通顺。

C. Buy the most expensive AI toys for their children.
D. Stop their children from playing with AI toys at home.
