五、阅读理解 (共12分)
Diving Into a Stronger Self
In just 1.93 seconds — faster than it takes you to read this sentence — Chen Yuxi completed her final dive at the 15th National Games with full confidence. With an impressive score of 412.30, the diving star achieved one of her long-held dreams: winning the National Games title in the women’s 10-meter platform (女子10米跳台). “I’m very happy to win,” she said calmly as she stepped onto the podium with her coach.
These simple words, however, barely reveal (透露) the long and rocky road she took to reach this moment.
From the 14th National Games in 2021 to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chen was no stranger to gold in synchronized events (双人项目). But in individual competitions, she fell short time and again. After the Paris Olympics, she felt lost and began doubting (怀疑) her own abilities. The stress was beyond measure. At one point, even seeing the diving pool made her feel awful. “Honestly, all I wanted to do was escape,” the Olympian admitted.
It was then that Chen recalled her coach’s favorite advice and decided to try diving one more time. Little by little, she pushed through her stress and regained her strength. At the 2025 World Aquatics Championships (世界游泳锦标赛) this past July, she finally won the women’s 10-meter platform again. This was, in fact, not her first act of courage. Chen had been naturally afraid of water. At the age of six, she tried diving for the first time, and that brave first jump set her on the path to becoming a champion.
Years of hard practice alone aren’t enough for Chen to stand out in her sport. Now 20, Chen must strictly keep her weight at 42.5 kilograms to perform at her best. She reportedly weighs herself ten times a day. Chen also keeps an eye on her diet. She never eats sweets and usually takes only a few bites of vegetables when she’s at home.
Chen has yet to win an Olympic gold medal in the women’s 10-meter platform. But with a stronger and calmer mind, she can now focus entirely on her dives. She has set her sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics — ready to push her limits once again.

Yours,

【答案】范文:
Dear editor,
I’d like to talk about one of the most important inventions in human history—the smartphone.
Smartphones have wide uses. We can make calls, send messages to stay connected with others. They also let us take photos, listen to music, and use various apps for studying, working . What’s more, we can pay with smartphones.
Smartphones have changed our life. We don’t need to carry a camera, a music player when going out. We can shop online, learn new skills through online courses from home easily.
In my opinion, smartphones make life efficient and colorful. But we should use them properly and avoid spending too much time on them.
Yours,
Chen Hui
