Yunnan food caught the world’s attention in January, 2026. During his visit to China, the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer chose to eat at a Yunnan restaurant in Beijing. He tried several local dishes, and even said “Thank you” in Chinese. After he posted photos with staff there, Yunnan food soon became a hot topic online.
In the past, Yunnan food was not well-known across China. But now, it has become popular because it is very special. What makes it special? On the one hand, Yunnan is home to many ethnic (民族的) groups. This mix of cultures creates special tastes. On the other hand, the food is fresh and natural. Zhang Yingfei, a cook, calls it “green” food because it uses things from the local mountains. These things change with seasons, so you can only eat some dishes at certain times of the year.
When talking about Yunnan food, wild mushrooms always come first. There are about 900 kinds of wild mushrooms that are safe to eat in Yunnan. That is about 90% of all safe-to-eat wild mushrooms in China. Mushroom tourism is growing, too. Many people visit Yunnan to see and eat the mushrooms.
Today, more and more people are trying Yunnan food. Some visit Yunnan to learn to cook local dishes, while others enjoy Yunnan food at Yunnan restaurants in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai. February 18, 2026 was a day to remember. It was full of joy and pride. It was not only Chinese New Year but also snowboarder Su Yiming’s birthday. On this special day, he won the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics. It was the first gold of the Games for China and the perfect birthday gift for him.
Su Yiming was born in 2004 in Jilin City, Northeast China. His parents were both skiing lovers, and they took him to the snowy mountains when he was just four years old. As soon as he stood on the snowboard, he fell in love with the sport. As a child, he was full of energy and had a lot of interests — he even tried acting and won the love of many viewers in the film Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy (智取威虎山) as the lovely “Little Tunzi”. But snowboarding was always his deepest passion. When he was six, he was badly hurt in an accident and had to be in hospital. However, he never gave up his interest in snowboarding. With his parents’ support and encouragement, he kept sticking to training.
In 2015, when Beijing won the chance to host the 2022 Olympics, 11-year-old Su decided to become a professional sports player. He wanted to fight for China in the world competitions. In 2018, he succeeded in joining the national team through his hard work.
To prepare for the Olympics, Su trained harder than ever. He spent hours every day practicing difficult moves and always did his very best. The road to the top was full of challenges. Just before the competition, a heavy snowstorm hit the area, so the players had less time to prepare. However, Su stayed calm. He put everything he had into his first run, scoring 82.41 points. This score was enough to win the gold.
Su’s story tells us that success comes from hard work and never giving up our dreams. As he said, taking the first place meant everything to him. It was the best prize for his years of hard work and courage.
31. When did Su Yiming win gold at the Winter Olympics?

The 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (春晚) impressed everyone with a special high-tech show. Not just human performers, but a group of human-like robots shared the stage. They performed kung fu together with young kung fu masters. Their moves were powerful, exact, and in perfect order. The most amazing part was that no human was controlling them during the show. They did all the difficult moves by themselves.
This was not the first time robots appeared at the Gala, but it showed huge progress. Last year, robots also danced, but they couldn’t even walk off the stage without people’s help. Their moves were slow and careful. This year, four Chinese technology companies brought their latest robots to the 2026 gala stage. The robots could run, kick, jump, and land safely all on their own. This big change clearly shows how fast robot technology is developing. They are no longer just pre-programmed machines following set orders. Today, they are intelligent robots that can act independently thanks to their powerful and smart computer programs.
For robot technology companies, the Spring Festival Gala is more than a TV show. It is the world’s most challenging live (直播) test for their robots. The live show has moving screens, hundreds of dancers, and changing lights. There is no chance to try again if they make a mistake. This year, robots played important roles in different shows, even acting as members of a family. This helps people see robots not as cold machines, but as possible helpers and friends in the future.
Why is this so important? First, it mixes Chinese culture, like kung fu, with the latest technology, showing China’s ability to innovate (创新). Second, it makes people less afraid of robots and more pleased to accept them into daily life. As scientists make robots easier to talk to, safer, and better at learning, they could soon help in homes, hospitals, and other places. The age of smart robots living and working with us has begun, and China is playing a leading role in this exciting field.
36. What’s the most amazing part when robots did kung fu at the 2026 Spring Festival Gala?
A. They performed kung fu alone.
B. Their moves were slow and careful.
C. They could walk off the stage with people’s help.
D. They were not controlled by a human in the show.

A. The human-like robots. B. The computer programs.
C. The young kung fu masters. D. The robot technology companies.
38. What makes the Gala the most challenging live test for robot companies?
a. The moving screens. b. Hundreds of dancers.
c. The changing lights. d. The cold machines.
A. acd. B. abd. C. abc. D. bcd.
39. What can we infer from the text?
A. People will be happier to accept robots in their lives.
B. People will be more afraid of using robots in daily life.
C. People will refuse to work with smart robots in the future.
D. People will prefer robots to real human performers in the future.
40. What can be the best title for the text?

根据下文,本段主要讲朋友鼓励你努力、尝试新事物、为你喝彩。C项“鼓励你成为最好的自己。”是本段最好的概括,对应这个小标题。
【44题详解】
根据下文“When they say they’ll meet you, they show up. When you tell them a secret, they keep it to themselves. You never have to worry about what they might say when you’re not around. That’s someone you can trust.”,说到做到、保守秘密、值得信任,此处应是对这段话的总结概括,B项“真正的朋友信守承诺。”总起下文。
【45题详解】
根据下文“True friendship takes time, but it’s valuable in your life.”,真正的友谊需要时间培养,但它在你的生命中无比珍贵。此处是指需要思考一下友谊,G项“所以,花点时间想一想你的友谊。”承上启下。

【答案】范文
A Lesson from Life
One rainy day, I slipped in a puddle and got mud on my new shoes. Angry, I wanted to leave them dirty, but then I remembered my mom’s advice: “Fix small problems before they grow.” So, I cleaned my shoes carefully.
This simple task taught me something important. We often ignore little things, like organizing our bags or finishing homework early. If we don’t act, they can become bigger troubles, just like dirty shoes that get harder to clean.
Now, I try to solve small issues quickly. Fixing a broken pen or apologizing after a fight—acting fast makes life easier. That puddle showed me: even tiny lessons help us grow stronger.

Cooks are also creating new Yunnan-style dishes, making Yunnan food more creative and popular. Zhang Yingfei is confident that Yunnan food has a very bright future.
21. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer tried Yunnan food in Beijing in early 2026.
22. The special tastes of Yunnan food come only from its mix of different cultures.
23. Yunnan has about half of China’s safe-to-eat wild mushrooms.

37. What does the underlined word “They” in paragraph 2 refer to?
A. The human-like robots. B. The computer programs.
C. The young kung fu masters. D. The robot technology companies.
38. What makes the Gala the most challenging live test for robot companies?
a. The moving screens. b. Hundreds of dancers.
c. The changing lights. d. The cold machines.
A. acd. B. abd. C. abc. D. bcd.
39. What can we infer from the text?
A. People will be happier to accept robots in their lives.
B. People will be more afraid of using robots in daily life.
C. People will refuse to work with smart robots in the future.
D. People will prefer robots to real human performers in the future.
40. What can be the best title for the text?
A. The Development of China’s High Technology
B. The History of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala
C. The New Stars of the 2026 Spring Festival Gala
D. The Biggest Challenge for Modern Stage Shows
