专题08 阅读理解(阅读表达) Passage 1 (24-25高一下·北京·期中) Digital Inclusion for Older Adults As a researcher in the behavior of older adults, I regularly hear complaints from them like, “I’m just not part of this world anymore. In certain parts of society, I just can’t join... Some things just are not possible if you are not in the flow of the Internet.” or “We feel like we’re standing outside a building that we have not access to.” Today, mastering digital technology has become a key component of what it means to fully participate in society. But one area in particular threatens to prevent some older adults from making connections: the digital divide. As a recent study shows, one-third of adults aged 65 and older say they’ve never used the Internet, and half don’t have Internet access at home. Of those who do use the Internet, nearly half say they need someone else’s help to set up or use a new digital device. In contrast to concerns about technology use increasing isolation (孤立;隔离) among younger populations, the communication and connection possible online can be especially valuable for older adults who are homebound, live far away from family, or have lost the loved ones. Older adults can use online tools to connect with friends and family via messaging platforms, video chat, and social media even if they can no longer physically visit them. And they can engage with the outside world through news, blogs, streaming platforms, and email, even if they are no longer able to move about as easily as they once could. For older adults in particular, the risks associated with social isolation are profound. Loneliness among older adults has been associated with depression, functional decline, and death. Technology can serve as an important tool to help reduce these risks, but only if we provide older adults with the skills they need, to make inclusion in the digital world accessible to them. The importance of digital inclusion is not going to disappear with the generational changes of the coming decades. Technology is continuously developing, and with each new digital innovation come challenges for even younger adults to adapt. 1.What prevents some older adults from connecting with society? 2.According to paragraph 4,how does technology benefit older adults? 3.Please briefly present your opinion on digital inclusion. (about 40 words) Passage 2 (24-25高一下·北京平谷·期中) Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius: wildly imaginative, passionately curious and creative across multiple disciplines — painting, architecture, aeronautics, and engineering. Yet oddly the word “genius” minimizes him by making it seem as if he were touched by lightning. His early biographer made this mistake: “Sometimes, in a supernatural fashion, a single person is gifted by heaven with beauty, grace, and talent in such abundance that seems that his every act is divine (天赐的)”. In fact, the self-taught Leonardo’s genius was shaped by his own will and ambition. It did not come from being the divine recipient, like Newton or Einstein. Part of what made Leonardo a genius, what set him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart, was creativity. His talent for combining observation with fantasy allowed him to make unexpected leaps that related things seen to things unseen. Leonardo was also a very human genius. He made mistakes. He left a trail of unfinished projects, flying machines that never flew, tanks that never rolled. “Tell me if ever I did a thing…Tell me if anything was ever made.” His flawed humanity makes Leonardo more accessible. Even though we may never be able to match his talents, we can learn from him and try to be more like him. His life offers a wealth of lessons. Seek knowledge for its own sake. Not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. Leonardo did not need to know how heart valves work to paint the Mona Lisa, nor did he need to figure out how fossils got to the top of mountains to produce Virgin of the Rocks. By allowing himself to be driven by pure curiosity, he got to explore more horizons and see more connections. Keep a childlike sense of wonder. At a certain point in life, most of us quit puzzling over everyday phenomena. We might savor the beauty of a blue sky, but we no longer bother to wonder why it is that color. Leonardo did. Be curious, observe things, see things unseen, respect facts, be open to mystery... We can never learn enough from Leonardo. 4.What set Da Vinci apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart? 5.Why was Da Vinci regarded as a very human genius? 6.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. Leslie Nielsen’s childhood was a difficult one, but he had one particular shining star in his life — his uncle, who was a well-known actor. The admiration and respect his uncle won inspired Nielsen to make a career (职业) in acting. Even though he often felt he would be discovered to be a no-talent, he moved forward, gaining a scholarship (奖学金) to the Neighborhood Playhouse and making his first television appearance a few years later in 1948. However, becoming a full-time, successful actor would still be an uphill battle for another eight years until he landed a number of film roles that finally got him noticed. But even then, what he had wasn’t quite what he wanted. Nielsen always felt he should be doing comedy (喜剧) but his good looks and distinguished voice kept him busy in dramatic roles. It wasn’t until 1980 — 32 years into his career — that he landed the role it would seem he was made for in Airplane. That movie led him into the second half of his career where his comedic presence alone could make a movie a financial (财务的) success even when movie reviewers would not rate it highly. Did Nielsen then feel content in his career? Yes and no. He was excited to be doing the comedy that he always felt he should do, but even during his last few years, he always had a sense of curiosity, wondering what new role or challenge might be just around the corner. He never stopped working. Leslie Nielsen’s devotion to acting is wonderfully inspiring. He built a hugely successful career with little more than plain old hard work and determination. He showed us that even a single dream, never given up on, can make for a remarkable (非凡的) life. 7.Why did Nielsen want to be an actor? 8.What impact did the movie Airplane have on Nielsen’s career? 9.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. When Nielsen landed a number of film roles that got him noticed, he thought he got what he wanted. 10.What is your dream? What inspiration do you get from Nielsen’s story to achieve it? No one is born a winner. People make themselves into winners by their own efforts. I learned this lesson from an experience many years ago. I took the head coaching job at a school in Baxley, Georgia. It was a small school with a weak football program. It was a tradition for the school’s old team to play against the new team at the end of spring practice. The old team had no coach, and they didn’t even practice to prepare for the game. Being the coach of the new team, I was excited because I knew we were going to win, but to my disappointment we were defeated. I couldn’t believe I had got into such a situation. Thinking hard about it, I came to realize that my team might not be the number one team in Georgia, but they were depending on me. I had to change my attitude about their ability and potential. I started doing anything I could to help them build a little pride. Most importantly, I began to treat them like winners. That summer, when the other teams enjoyed their vacations, we met every day and practiced passing and kicking the football. Six months after suffering our defeat on the spring practice field, we won our first game and our second, and continued to improve. Finally, we faced the number one team in the state. I felt that it would be a victory for us even if we lost the game. But that wasn’t what happened. My boys beat the best team in Georgia, giving me one of the greatest thrills of my life! From the experience I learnt a lot about how the attitude of the leader can affect the members of a team. Instead of seeing my boys as losers, I pushed and encouraged them. I helped them to see themselves differently, and they built themselves into winners. Winners are made, but born. 11.What did the coach realize after the new team was defeated at the end of spring practice? . 12.In what ways did the coach do to help the boys in the team? . 13.According to the passage, please complete the following sentence. The coach didn’t see the boys as losers. Instead, he pushed and encouraged them and . 14.Please briefly write about one of your experiences in which you achieved your goal through your own efforts. (about 40 words) . Jessica Watson: The Sailor Who Redefined Limits At just 16 years old, Jessica Watson became a household name by completing a solo circumnavigation (环绕航行) of the globe, which pushed the boundaries of what is possible and proved that age is no barrier to achieving the extraordinary. From a young age, Jessica was drawn to the sea. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, she spent hours sailing with her family, developing a deep connection with the ocean. By the age of 14, she set her sights on an ambitious goal: to sail around the world alone. Despite doubts from critics who questioned her ability and age, Jessica remained firm in her belief that she could accomplish the impossible. In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Jessica explained her motivation: “I wanted to challenge myself and achieve something to be proud of.” Jessica faced one of her greatest challenges in the Southern Ocean, where towering waves and fierce winds tested her endurance. Each storm pushed her to her limits, but she adapted, improving her skills to navigate (航行) the dangerous waters. Sleep deprivation (睡眠剥夺) was another constant battle for Jessica. Sailing solo meant that she had to be on constant alert, taking short naps throughout the day and night to ensure her safety. Despite the challenges she faced, Jessica also experienced moments of amazement. The sight of jumping whales, breathtaking sunsets, and the sheer vastness of the open ocean filled her with a sense of wonder and gratitude. These moments of peace and beauty served as a reminder of why she started this incredible journey in the first place. Being alone also provided Jessica with the opportunity for self-reflection and personal growth. Away from the distractions of modern life, she dug into her thoughts and discovered a newfound purpose. Navigating the open ocean also taught Jessica invaluable lessons about adaptability and problem-solving. She encountered numerous mechanical failures and had to rely on her resourcefulness to fix them. Through trial and error, Jessica learned to think on her feet and find creative solutions to the challenges that arose. So, let Jessica Watson’s journey be a rallying cry (集结口号) for all those who dare to dream big. Let her story be a reminder that the greatest adventures often begin with a single step, or in Jessica’s case, a single sail. 15.Why did Jessica Watson become a household name at the age of 16? 16.What was Jessica’s motivation for undertaking her solo sailing journey? 17.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. Jessica had extensive sailing experience before her journey, so she found it easy to navigate the dangerous waters. 18.What challenge would you like to take to push your limits and achieve something great? How will you prepare for it? They say to find out what you really want, go back to when you were a child. When I was a kid, I really wanted to be a painter, but I was never great at it. I was discouraged, because in art classes my paintings were never the most beautiful. In the third grade, we were given a project to create a portrait. I used the skills and tips we were all taught in class. After we were done, we presented our portraits. We stood in front of the class and explained our technique. I remember looking at other portraits thinking, “We were given the same skills, why do theirs look so professional and mine looks so amateur?” But I still really enjoyed painting because it’s a forgiving art. If I don’t like what I’ve put on paper, I can paint over it. I can mix colors and make new ones. Also, I can release some creative juices, use what has inspired me and allow that to pour out of me in a way I may not have imagined. But because I have always wanted to paint beautiful pictures, I just decided to change what beauty looked like. I changed what beauty meant to me. Throughout school, they taught us about Picasso, van Gogh and da Vinci, and I never saw myself or my art in their works. These artists were always painting whatever was in front of them and around them. But that’s not what I saw around me. Then I learned about Basquiat, who inspired me to paint abstract pictures. I paint when I’m moved, and I am often moved by what’s natural: emotions, nature, and other forms of art. I am also very moved by pain. When there is pain in the world or in my heart, it can be unbearable. I had a conversation with an activist in St. Louis named Spook, and I explained to her this feeling and she told me, “Pain is energy. You have to learn how to channel that energy into something productive.” So sometimes I channel that pain into art, into a painting. Even if the picture doesn’t turn out aesthetically (美学地) pleasing by society’s standards, it’s still beautiful that I was able to create something. My paintings may not be a Basquiat, but they’re mine, so I love them anyway. 19.What did the author find after the portrait presentation? 20.What factors motivated the author to keep his passion for arts? 21.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. The author has always wanted to paint beautiful pictures, so he tried to meet society’s standards. In the digital age, technology is transforming how we communicate and interact. What were once science-fiction tech ideas are now reality. In the 2002 film Minority Report, John Anderton used a data glove, and now touch-based computing is common. Similar gaming interaction methods have appeared since 2006. These are just a taste of what’s to come. MIT computer scientist Thomas Koffler predicted that virtual touch-based computing is the future of human-computer interfaces. He also suggested that an even more exciting area of research, one that will transform how we communicate with computers over the longer term, is so-called brain-computer interface (BCI). Today’s research on BCI works on a related idea: the brain makes use of electrical signals, an electrical code, to send and process information. As the brain runs on electrical signals, assuming these can be accurately read, the signals thus allow us to communicate with external devices through the transmission of electrical impulses (脉冲) directly from the brain. In theory, it should be possible to use brain signals that move your arm and hand to control a robotic arm, e.g., to pick up a coffee cup. Research of this kind is ongoing. Cochlear implants (人工耳蜗), allowing the hard of hearing to hear, are currently the most widely available use for this technology. The principle of BCI enables brain signals to communicate with the implant, thereby overcoming the damaged part of the ear. In the future, it may be possible for implants in the brain to allow us to communicate directly with and control a wide variety of devices, using the power of thought alone. Today, computers and smartphones with fixed cameras enable real-time face-to-face chat. Next up could be telepresence robots, which let a person remotely see, move around, and interact. Ideal for tele-conferencing and remote site tours, their potential is clear. Ultimately, the driving force behind digital communication’s next stage is the cooperative intelligence that makes humans exceptional communicators. 22.According to Thomas Koffler, what will transform the way we communicate with computers over the longer term? 23.How do electrical signals allow us to communicate with external devices? 24.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why.  The principle of BCI enables brain signals to directly fix the damaged part of the ear. 25.Do you think BCI will make our lives better? Why or why not? Harbin has witnessed a significant boom that has caused it to trend on social media this winter. By December 30, 2024, the city airport’s annual passenger throughput had gone beyond 3000 million. According to a new report, during the three - day New Year holiday of 2025, Harbin received 3.05 million tourists and made income of 5.91 billion yuan, both of which reached record highs. Harbin, also China’s “ice city”, is famous for its ice and snow culture. For over 60 years, the city has had a tradition of holding an annual ice lantern exhibition, presenting the creativity and skill of its artists. The Ice and Snow World, recently recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest ice and snow park, is just one of many attractions in the city. It features amazing ice and snow sculptures, as well as snow sports, which attract numerous visitors to come. Harbin spared no effort to show its sincerity and hospitality (热情好客) to tourists. At the Ice and Snow World, a lot of new experiences have been provided, such as hovercrafts and bicycles on ice, Ferris wheels, and hot air balloons. Tourists were welcomed with live performances at the airport, and dressing rooms were set up for them to change into warm clothing. Local residents showed support by traveling during off - peak hours to reduce traffic and offering tourists free rides. For those unable to book hotels, the government opened the Provincial People’s Congress Service Center for low - cost stays. “For individual travelers, a city’s infrastructure (基础设施) forms the foundation of tourism competitiveness. But it is only when tourists feel the warmth of the city and the goodwill of its citizens that they fit into the lives of a travel destination,” said Dai Bin, president of China Tourism Academy. 26.What achievements did Harbin make in tourism during the New Year holiday of 2025? 27.Why do so many people visit the Ice and Snow World? 28.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. >According to Dai Bin, the warmth of the city and citizens’ professional service attract tourists to fit into the lives of a travel destination. 29.As students, how can you help to develop Fangshan’s tourism? Not all species had this skill, though. Neanderthals (尼安德特人), our main competitors, were bigger and stronger, yet left behind few advanced tools or objects. Some believe this reflects their limited imagination. In contrast, Homo sapiens (智人) had more complex and creative thinking, which may explain our dominance (主宰) in the world. A clear sign of this is our art, which not only shows imagination but also fosters it. Art pushes us to think in new and deeper ways. It is not just about beauty or fun. Great art is, by definition, complex, and it expects work from us when we engage with it. Great works carry with them so many messages and meanings, which survive for centuries. Moreover, the appreciation of art brings us together — when we go to museums, openings, concerts, movies, or to the ballet or theater. And we argue, and sometimes we fight, but we certainly don’t start a war over artistic expression — art is the most important vehicle by which we come to understand one another. Yet, in the modem world, we often prioritize (优先考虑) reason and science, leaving art and imagination at the edges of our lives. The value of art is increasingly seen as secondary, something easily overlooked, even discarded, in favor of more “practical” pursuits. While the rise of technology has been nothing short of remarkable — connecting us, informing us, and entertaining us, it cannot match the emotional depth, creativity, and ethical judgment humans possess. Who knows what the future will bring? If we Homo sapiens are challenged again, it will not be by the Neanderthal — nor by any other species — but by the machines we invented ourselves. Winning that battle can’t be done without firing up the most important engines we possess: culture and creativity, because reason is born out of our cultural experiences. Works of art carry with them the wisdom of the world. 30.Why could Homo sapiens dominate the world? 31.What qualities make humans different from technology? 32.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why.  Art is the most important vehicle by which we come to understand one another, the value of which is increasingly seen as important. 33.What role does art play in your life? Explain it. On March 14, 2018, one of science’s brightest stars went dark. Stephen Hawking, the world-famous British scientist, died at 76 in Cambridge, UK. Hawking is considered by many to be the greatest scientist in history since Albert Einstein. He came up with the theory that the universe began with the Big Bang and will end in black holes. His theories became the base for a lot of later research. He also wrote books to help common people understand the universe. His most famous book is A Brief History of Time, which has sold more than 10 million copies around the world, according to CNN. Besides his scientific achievements, Hawking was also someone who had a strong will and optimistic attitude. When Hawking was 21, he was diagnosed (诊断) with a serious illness that stopped him from walking and talking. Later in life, he had to sit in a wheelchair and “speak” using a computerized voice. But this didn’t stop him from living a meaningful and colorful life. “If one is physically disabled, one cannot afford to be psychologically (心理上) disabled as well,” he once said. Hawking traveled the globe to attend science conferences, visiting every continent, including Antarctica. He was also a fan of pop culture and appeared on TV shows such as Star Trek and The Big Bang Theory. He celebrated his 60th birthday by going up in a hot-air balloon; when he was 65, he took part in a zero-gravity (零重力) flight to experience weightlessness. He hoped to travel into space one day. In 2013, Hawking spoke about how he felt life was unfair when he was first diagnosed with his illness. “But now, 50 years later, I can be quietly satisfied with my life,” he said. 34.What happened to Hawking when he was 21? 35.Why is Hawking regarded as the greatest scientist in history since Albert Einstein? 36.How did Hawking communicate with others later in life? 37.What did Hawking think of his life? 38.What impressed you most about Hawking after you read the passage? Why? I work with Volunteers for Wildlife, a rescue and education organization at Bailey Arboretum in Locust Valley. Trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking; survival is never certain. The effort made in vain is unavoidable in some rescue work. However, when it works, it is simply beautiful. I got a rescue call from a woman in Muttontown. She had found a young owl (猫头鹰) on the ground. When I arrived, I saw a 2-to 3-week-old owl. It had already been placed in a carrier for safety. I examined the chick (雏鸟) and it seemed fine. If I could locate the nest, I might have been able to put it back, but no luck. My next work was to construct a nest and anchor it in a tree. The homeowner was very helpful. A wire basket was found. I put some pine branches into the basket to make this nest safe and comfortable. I placed the chick in the nest, and it quickly calmed down. Now all that was needed were the parents, but they were absent. I gave the homeowner a recording of the hunger screams of owl chicks. These advertise the presence of chicks to adults; they might also encourage our chick to start calling as well. I gave the owner as much information as possible and headed home to see what news the night might bring. A nervous night to be sure, but sometimes the spirits of nature smile on us all! The homeowner called to say that the parents had responded to the recordings. I drove over and saw the chick in the nest looking healthy and active. And it was accompanied in the nest by the greatest sight of all—LUNCH! The parents had done their duty and would probably continue to do so. 39.Why does the author think that the effort is in vain in some rescue work? 40.What did the author do to make the chick calm down? 41.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. The young owl in the nest looked healthy and active, and the homeowner’s parents prepared some lunch for the chick. 42.What can you do to help animals in need?(in about 40 words) Passage 12 (24-25高二上·北京·期中) 阅读下面短文,根据题目要求用英文回答问题。 Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius: wildly imaginative, passionately curious and creative across multiple disciplines — painting, architecture, aeronautics, and engineering. (about 40 words) 【答案】1.The digital divide prevents some older adults from connecting with society. 2.Technology helps older adults connect with friends and family through online tools and engage with the outside world, reducing isolation. 3.Digital inclusion is essential for older adults to stay connected and reduce loneliness. Providing them with digital skills ensures they can participate fully in society, benefiting their mental and physical health. 根据第二段“But one area in particular threatens to prevent some older adults from making connections: the digital divide.(但有一个领域尤其可能阻碍一些老年人建立联系:数字鸿沟)”可知,阻碍一些老年人与社会联系的是数字鸿沟。 The digital divide prevents some older adults from connecting with society. 2. 根据第四段“Older adults can use online tools to connect with friends and family via messaging platforms, video chat, and social media even if they can no longer physically visit them. And they can engage with the outside world through news, blogs, streaming platforms, and email, even if they are no longer able to move about as easily as they once could.(老年人可以利用在线工具通过消息平台、视频通话和社交媒体与朋友和家人保持联系,即便他们无法亲自去探望他们也是如此。 Technology helps older adults connect with friends and family through online tools and engage with the outside world, reducing isolation. 3. Digital inclusion is essential for older adults to stay connected and reduce loneliness. Providing them with digital skills ensures they can participate fully in society, benefiting their mental and physical health. Passage 2 (24-25高一下·北京平谷·期中) Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius: wildly imaginative, passionately curious and creative across multiple disciplines — painting, architecture, aeronautics, and engineering. 4.Creativity/Creativity sets him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart. 5.Because he made mistakes and he left a trail of unfinished projects, such as flying machines that never flew and tanks that never rolled. 6.Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. Because not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. 根据第二段“Part of what made Leonardo a genius, what set him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart, was creativity .(使Leonardo成为天才的部分原因,使他与那些仅仅是非常聪明的人区别开来的部分原因是创造力。)” Creativity sets him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart. 5. 根据第三段“Leonardo was also a very human genius. He made mistakes. He left a trail of unfinished projects, flying machines that never flew, tanks that never rolled. Because he made mistakes and he left a trail of unfinished projects, such as flying machines that never flew and tanks that never rolled. 6. 根据倒数第三段“Seek knowledge for its own sake. Not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. 可知,错误的部分为one of which is to seek useful knowledge,因为并非所有的知识都必须有用,有时应该纯粹为了快乐而追求。 Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. Because not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. (In about 40 words ) 【答案】7.His uncle inspired him. 8.It launched his comedic career. 9.When Nielsen landed a number of film roles that got him noticed, he thought he got what he wanted. What he had wasn’t quite what he wanted. 10.My dream is to be a scientist. Nielsen’s persistence teaches me to embrace challenges and keep improving. 根据第一段“The admiration and respect his uncle won inspired Nielsen to make a career (职业) in acting.(他叔叔所赢得的钦佩和尊重激励了尼尔森在演艺事业上发展)”可知,尼尔森想成为一名演员是因为他叔叔鼓舞了他。故答案为His uncle inspired him. 8. 根据第二段“It wasn’t until 1980 — 32 years into his career — that he landed the role it would seem he was made for in Airplane. What he had wasn’t quite what he wanted. 10. My dream is to be a scientist. Nielsen’s persistence teaches me to embrace challenges and keep improving. 19. Other kids’ portraits looked so professional and but his looked so amateur. 20. His childhood dream; His belief that paining is a forgiving art; The inspiration he got from Basquiat; The fact that he could channel pain into art.(列出至少两条) 21. The author has always wanted to paint beautiful pictures, so he tried to meet society's standards. So he just decided to change what beauty looked like, and he changed what beauty meant to him. So he changed what beauty looked like. So he changed what beauty meant to him. But he didn’t try to meet the society’s standards. 根据第二段“After we were done, we presented our portraits. We stood in front of the class and explained our technique. I remember looking at other portraits thinking, “We were given the same skills, why do theirs look so professional and mine looks so amateur?”(完成后,我们展示了我们的肖像。我们站在全班面前解释我们的技术。我记得看着其他肖像画时想,“我们被赋予了同样的技能,为什么他们的看起来如此专业,而我的看起来如此业余?”)”可知,展示肖像后,作者发现其他同学的肖像画看起来很专业,而自己的显得业余。故答案为Other kids’ portraits looked so professional and but his looked so amateur. 20. 根据第二段“When I was a kid, I really wanted to be a painter, but I was never great at it.(当我还是个孩子的时候,我真的很想成为一名画家,但我从来都不擅长)”、第三段“But I still really enjoyed painting because it’s a forgiving art.(但我仍然很喜欢画画,因为这是一种宽容的艺术)”、第六段“Then I learned about Basquiat, who inspired me to paint abstract pictures. (然后我了解了巴斯奎特,他启发我画抽象画)”以及“So sometimes I channel that pain into art, into a painting.(所以有时我会将这种痛苦转化为艺术,转化为绘画)”可知,促使作者保持对绘画热情的因素包括:他儿时的梦想;他相信痛苦是一种宽容的艺术;他的灵感来自巴斯奎特;他能够将痛苦转化为艺术。故答案为His childhood dream; His belief that paining is a forgiving art; The inspiration he got from Basquiat; The fact that he could channel pain into art.(列出至少两条) 21. 根据第四段“But because I have always wanted to paint beautiful pictures, I just decided to change what beauty looked like. I changed what beauty meant to me.(但因为我一直想画出美丽的画,所以我决定改变美丽的样子。我改变了美对我的意义)”以及最后一段“Even if the picture doesn’t turn out aesthetically (美学地) pleasing by society’s standards, it’s still beautiful that I was able to create something. My paintings may not be a Basquiat, but they’re mine, so I love them anyway.(即使这幅画在美学上不符合社会标准,但我能够创造一些东西仍然很美。我的画可能不是巴斯奎特的,但它们是我的,所以无论如何我都喜欢它们)”可知,作者一直想画出漂亮的画,所以他决定改变美的样子,改变美对他意味着什么,但他没有试图达到社会的标准。即错误部分为so he tried to meet society’s standards。 The author has always wanted to paint beautiful pictures, so he tried to meet society's standards. So he just decided to change what beauty looked like, and he changed what beauty meant to him. So he changed what beauty looked like. So he changed what beauty meant to him. But he didn’t try to meet the society’s standards. (In about 40 words) 【答案】22.Brain-computer interface. 23.By transmitting the electrical impulses directly from the brain./ Through the transmission of electrical impulses directly from the brain. 24.The principle of BCI enables brain signals to directly flex the damaged part of the car. The principle of BCI enables brain signals to communicate with the implant to overcome the damaged part of the car, not directly fix it. 25.Yes, I think BCI will make our lives better. It can help disabled people regain certain functions, improve quality of life, and potentially enable more efficient communication and control methods in the future. 由文章第二段中“He also suggested that an even more exciting area of research, one that will transform how we communicate with computers over the longer term, is so-called brain-computer interface (BCI). (他还指出,一个更令人兴奋的研究领域,一个将在更长远的时间里改变我们与计算机交流方式的研究领域,就是所谓的脑机接口(BCI))”可知,根据Thomas Koffler的说法,从长远来看,脑机接口(BCI)将改变我们与计算机的交流方式。故答案为:Brain-computer interface. 23.考查细节理解。由文章第三段中“As the brain runs on electrical signals, assuming these can be accurately read, the signals thus allow us to communicate with external devices through the transmission of electrical impulses (脉冲) directly from the brain. (由于大脑通过电信号运行,假设这些信号可以被准确读取,那么这些信号就允许我们通过直接从大脑传输电脉冲来与外部设备通信)”可知,电信号通过直接从大脑传输电脉冲,从而允许我们与外部设备通信。故答案为:By transmitting the electrical impulses directly from the brain./ Through the transmission of electrical impulses directly from the brain. 24. 由文章第四段中“The principle of BCI enables brain signals to communicate with the implant, thereby overcoming the damaged part of the ear.  (脑机接口的原理使脑信号能够与植入物通信,从而克服耳朵受损的部分)”可知,脑机接口的原理是使脑信号能够与植入物通信,而不是直接修复耳朵受损的部分。所以错误的部分是directly fix the damaged part of the ear,应改为communicate with the implant, thereby overcoming the damaged part of the ear。 The principle of BCI enables brain signals to directly flex the damaged part of the car. The principle of BCI enables brain signals to communicate with the implant to overcome the damaged part of the car, not directly fix it. 25. Yes, I think BCI will make our lives better. It can help disabled people regain certain functions, improve quality of life, and potentially enable more efficient communication and control methods in the future. (In about 40 words) 【答案】26.During the three-day New Year holiday of 2025, Harbin received 3.05 million tourists and made an income of 5.91 billion yuan, both reaching record highs. 27.Because it is recognized as the largest ice and snow park by Guinness World Records, featuring amazing ice and snow sculptures and snow sports. 28.professional service;Dai Bin mentioned “the goodwill of its citizens,” not “professional service.” It emphasizes citizens’sincerity and hospitality, not professional services. 29.As students, we can promote Fangshan’s attractions via social media, act as volunteer guides, introduce local culture to visitors, and keep tourist sites clean and orderly. 根据第一段中“According to a new report, during the three-day New Year holiday of 2025, Harbin received 3.05 million tourists and made income of 5.91 billion yuan, both of which reached record highs.( 根据一份新的报告,在2025年为期三天的新年假期中,哈尔滨接待了305万游客,创造了59.1亿元的收入,这两个数字都创下了历史新高。)” During the three-day New Year holiday of 2025, Harbin received 3.05 million tourists and made an income of 5.91 billion yuan, both reaching record highs. 27. 根据第二段中“The Ice and Snow World, recently recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest ice and snow park, is just one of many attractions in the city. It features amazing ice and snow sculptures, as well as snow sports, which attract numerous visitors to come.( 最近被吉尼斯世界纪录认定为最大的冰雪公园的冰雪大世界,只是这座城市众多景点之一。它以令人惊叹的冰雪雕塑和雪上运动为特色,吸引了众多游客前来。)”可知,这么多人参观冰雪大世界是因为它被吉尼斯世界纪录认定为最大的冰雪公园,以令人惊叹的冰雪雕塑和雪地运动为特色。故答案是:Because it is recognized as the largest ice and snow park by Guinness World Records, featuring amazing ice and snow sculptures and snow sports. 28. 根据最后一段““For individual travelers, a city’s infrastructure forms the foundation of tourism competitiveness. But it is only when tourists feel the warmth of the city and the goodwill of its citizens that they fit into the lives of a travel destination,” said Dai Bin, president of China Tourism Academy.( “对于个人旅游者来说,一个城市的基础设施构成了旅游竞争力的基础。但只有当游客感受到城市的温暖和市民的善意时,他们才会融入旅游目的地的生活,”中国旅游研究院院长戴斌表示。)”可知,题干中提到的“专业的服务”陈述是错误的,因为戴斌提到的是“公民的善意”,而不是“专业服务”。它强调的是市民的真诚和热情,而不是专业服务。故答案是:professional service;Dai Bin mentioned “the goodwill of its citizens,” not “professional service.” It emphasizes citizens’sincerity and hospitality, not professional services. 29. As students, we can promote Fangshan’s attractions via social media, act as volunteer guides, introduce local culture to visitors, and keep tourist sites clean and orderly. Early art shows that humans have long possessed the ability to imagine and create. Explain it. (In about 40 words) 【答案】30.Because Homo sapiens had more complex and creative thinking, which enabled them to dominate the world. 31.Humans possess emotional depth, creativity, and ethical judgment, which technology lacks. 32.Underlined part: the value of which is increasingly seen as important. Explanation: The original text states that the value of art is often overlooked in favor of more “practical” pursuits, meaning it is not seen as increasingly important. 33.Art inspires me to think creatively and express emotions. It helps me see the world differently and connects me with others through shared experiences. 根据第一段“Some believe this reflects their limited imagination. In contrast, Homo sapiens (智人) had more complex and creative thinking, which may explain our dominance (主宰) in the world. (一些人认为这反映了他们有限的想象力。相比之下,智人拥有更复杂和创造性的思维,这也许可以解释我们在世界上的主宰地位。)”可知,智人能够主宰世界是因为他们拥有更复杂和创造性的思维。故填Because Homo sapiens had more complex and creative thinking, which enabled them to dominate the world. 31. 根据第三段“While the rise of technology has been nothing short of remarkable — connecting us, informing us, and entertaining us, it cannot match the emotional depth, creativity, and ethical judgment humans possess. (虽然科技的崛起非常了不起 —— 连接我们、为我们提供信息、娱乐我们,但它无法与人类所拥有的情感深度、创造力和道德判断相媲美。)”可知,人类所拥有的情感深度、创造力和道德判断是科技所缺乏的,这使得人类与科技不同。故填Humans possess emotional depth, creativity, and ethical judgment, which technology lacks. 32. 根据第三段“The value of art is increasingly seen as secondary, something easily overlooked, even discarded, in favor of more ‘practical’ pursuits. (艺术的价值越来越被视为次要的,是很容易被忽视甚至被抛弃的东西,人们更倾向于更‘实际’的追求。)”可知,艺术的价值越来越被视为次要的,而不是越来越被认为重要,所以“the value of which is increasingly seen as important (其价值越来越被视为重要)”这句话是错误的。故填Art is the most important vehicle by which we come to understand one another, the value of which is increasingly seen as important. Explanation: The original text states that the value of art is often overlooked in favor of more “practical” pursuits, meaning it is not seen as increasingly important. 33. Art inspires me to think creatively and express emotions. It helps me see the world differently and connects me with others through shared experiences. Why? 【答案】34.He was diagnosed (诊断) with a serious illness that stopped him from walking and talking./ He suffered from a serious illness which stopped him from walking and talking. 35.Because of his theories (about the Big Bang and black holes)./ Because his theories (about the Big Bang and black holes) became the base for a lot of later research. 36.By using a computerized voice./He used a computer to speak. 37.First unfair, later satisfied./ At first he felt life was unfair, but later he felt satisfied. (1) His strong will impressed me most because despite severe physical challenges, he achieved groundbreaking scientific work and lived a full, adventurous life. (2) What impressed me most is his determination to overcome challenges. Although he was unable to walk or speak normally, he continued his research, traveled globally, and even experienced zero-gravity. 根据第四段中“When Hawking was 21, he was diagnosed (诊断) with a serious illness that stopped him from walking and talking.(当霍金21岁时,他被诊断出患有一种严重的疾病,这种疾病使他无法行走和说话)”可知,霍金21岁时被诊断出患有一种严重的疾病,使他无法行走和说话。故答案为:He was diagnosed (诊断) with a serious illness that stopped him from walking and talking./He suffered from a serious illness which stopped him from walking and talking. 35. 根据第二段中“Hawking is considered by many to be the greatest scientist in history since Albert Einstein. He came up with the theory that the universe began with the Big Bang and will end in black holes. His theories became the base for a lot of later research.(霍金被许多人认为是自爱因斯坦以来历史上最伟大的科学家。他提出了宇宙始于大爆炸并将终结于黑洞的理论。他的理论成为后来许多研究的基础)”可知,霍金被认为是自爱因斯坦以来历史上最伟大的科学家是因为他提出了宇宙始于大爆炸并将终结于黑洞的理论,且他的理论成为后来许多研究的基础。故答案为:Because of his theories (about the Big Bang and black holes)./ Because his theories (about the Big Bang and black holes) became the base for a lot of later research. 36. 根据第四段中“Later in life, he had to sit in a wheelchair and “speak” using a computerized voice.(在后来的生活中,他不得不坐在轮椅上,用电脑化的声音“说话”)”可知,霍金在后来的生活中用电脑化的声音与他人交流。 By using a computerized voice./He used a computer to speak. 37. 根据最后一段中“In 2013, Hawking spoke about how he felt life was unfair when he was first diagnosed with his illness. “But now, 50 years later, I can be quietly satisfied with my life,” he said.(2013年,霍金谈到当他第一次被诊断出患有疾病时,他觉得生活是不公平的。“但现在,50年后,我可以平静地满足于我的生活,”他说。)”可知,霍金对自己的生活感到满足。故答案为:First unfair, later satisfied./At first he felt life was unfair, but later he felt satisfied. 38. 42.What can you do to help animals in need?(in about 40 words) 【答案】39.Because trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking and survival is never certain. 40.(1)The author placed the chick in the nest. (2)The author constructed a nest for the chick and put some pine branches into the basket to make this nest safe and comfortable. 41.The young owl in the nest looked healthy and active, and the homeowner’s parents prepared some lunch for the chick. It is not the homeowner’s parents but the young owl’s parents that prepared some lunch for the chick. 42.To help animals in need, I can volunteer at a local animal shelter or wildlife rescue organization. By providing food, shelter, and medical care, I can give these animals a second chance at life. 根据第一段“Trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking; survival is never certain. The effort made in vain is unavoidable in some rescue work.(试图帮助受伤、流离失所或生病的生物可能会令人心碎;生死未卜。在一些救援工作中,徒劳无功是不可避免的)”可知,因为试图帮助受伤的、流离失所的或生病的生物可能会令人心碎,而且生死未定,所以作者认为在一些救援工作中努力是徒劳的。故回答:Because trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking and survival is never certain. 40. 根据第三段“I examined the chick (雏鸟) and it seemed fine. If I could locate the nest, I might have been able to put it back, but no luck. My next work was to construct a nest and anchor it in a tree. The homeowner was very helpful. A wire basket was found. I put some pine branches into the basket to make this nest safe and comfortable. I placed the chick in the nest, and it quickly calmed down.(我检查了雏鸟,它看起来很好。如果我能找到鸟巢,我也许能把它放回去,但运气不好。我的下一个工作是建造一个巢,并把它固定在一棵树上。房主非常乐于助人。发现了一个铁丝篮子。我在篮子里放了一些松枝,使这个窝既安全又舒适。我把雏鸟放在窝里,它很快就安静下来了)”可知,作者把雏鸟放到鸟窝里,它很快就安静下来了。故回答:The author placed the chick in the nest.或者The author constructed a nest for the chick and put some pine branches into the basket to make this nest safe and comfortable. 41. 根据最后一段“A nervous night to be sure, but sometimes the spirits of nature smile on us all! The homeowner called to say that the parents had responded to the recordings. I drove over and saw the chick in the nest looking healthy and active. And it was accompanied in the nest by the greatest sight of all—LUNCH! The parents had done their duty and would probably continue to do so.(一个紧张的夜晚是肯定的,但有时大自然的精神向我们所有人微笑!房主打电话说,孩子的父母已经对录音做出了回应。我开车过去,看到窝里的小鸡看起来既健康又活跃。在巢里,伴随着它的是最壮观的景象——午餐!父母已经尽了他们的责任,而且很可能会继续这样做)”可知,为小猫头鹰准备午餐的不是房主的父母,而是小猫头鹰的父母。故回答:The young owl in the nest looked healthy and active, and the homeowner’s parents prepared some lunch for the chick. It is not the homeowner’s parents but the young owl’s parents that prepared some lunch for the chick. 42. To help animals in need, I can volunteer at a local animal shelter or wildlife rescue organization. By providing food, shelter, and medical care, I can give these animals a second chance at life. Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius: wildly imaginative, passionately curious and creative across multiple disciplines — painting, architecture, aeronautics, and engineering. Yet oddly the word “genius” minimizes him by making it seem as if he were touched by lightning. His early biographer made this mistake: “Sometimes, in a supernatural fashion, a single person is gifted by heaven with beauty, grace, and talent in such abundance that seems that his every act is divine (天赐的).” In fact, the self-taught Leonardo’s genius was shaped by his own will and ambition. “Tell me if ever I did a thing... Tell me if anything was ever made.” His flawed humanity makes Leonardo more accessible. By allowing himself to be driven by pure curiosity, he got to explore more horizons and sec more connections. Keep a childlike sense of wonder. At a certain point in life, most of us quit puzzling over everyday phenomena. We might savor the beauty of a blue sky, but we no longer bother to wonder why it is that color. Leonardo did. Be curious, observe things, see things unseen, respect facts, be open to mystery…We can never learm enough from Leonardo. 43.What set Da Vinci apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart? 44.Why was Da Vinci regarded as a very human genius? 45.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. 46.Which quality of Da Vinci’s do you appreciate most? How can it benefit you in your life? (In about 40 words) 【答案】43.Creativity sets him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart. 44.Because he made mistakes and he left a trail of unfinished projects, such as flying machines that never flew and tanks that never rolled. 45.Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. Because not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. 46.One possible version: I appreciate the quality of being curious most. Because being curious can force me to keep learning new knowledge. If I am curious about one problem, I will refer to some books to get a better understanding of the knowledge. 根据第二段“Part of what made Leonardo a genius, what set him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart, was creativity.(使列奥纳多成为天才的部分原因,使他与那些仅仅是非常聪明的人区别开来的部分原因是创造力)”可知,是创造力将达·芬奇与那些只是非常聪明的人区别开来,故答案为Creativity.或Creativity sets him apart from people who are merely extraordinarily smart. 44. 根据第三段“Leonardo was also a very human genius. He made mistakes. He left a trail of unfinished projects, flying machines that never flew, tanks that never rolled. (列奥纳多也是一个非常有人类本性的天才。他犯了错误。他留下了一系列未完成的项目——从没飞过的飞行器,从没启动过的坦克)”可知,达·芬奇也犯错,而且还留下一系列未完成的项目,比如从没飞过的飞行器和从没启动过的坦克,所以达·芬奇被认为是一个有人类本性的天才,故答案为Because he made mistakes and he left a trail of unfinished projects, such as flying machines that never flew and tanks that never rolled. 45. 根据倒数第二段“Seek knowledge for its own sake. Not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure.(为知识本身而求知。并非所有的知识都必须有用。有时应该纯粹为了快乐而追求)”可知,错误的部分为“one of which is to seek useful knowledge”,因为并非所有的知识都必须有用。 Da Vinci’s life offers us a wealth of lessons, one of which is to seek useful knowledge. Because not all knowledge needs to be useful. Sometimes it should be pursued for pure pleasure. 46. 根据最后一段中的“Be curious, observe things, see things unseen, respect facts, be open to mystery…”(要有好奇心,观察事物,看到看不见的东西,尊重事实,接受神秘……) One possible version: I appreciate the quality of being curious most. Because being curious can force me to keep learning new knowledge. If I am curious about one problem, I will refer to some books to get a better understanding of the knowledge.
