专题02 阅读理解(记叙文) 主题01 人与社会 Passage 1 (2024高一下·湖南·期中) Can you sing in different voices? Chinese singer Zhou Shen can do this. The 27-year-old has become more popular after appearing on the TV show Singer. On the show, he sang a song in five different voices including the voice of a little girl, a king and a young man. He records in his unusual ways - he has performed in his bedroom twice due to the novel coronavirus outbreak - but also with his singing itself. Zhou’s road to success was not easy. He loved singing when he was a little boy. However, his voice didn’t change like other boys during puberty (青春期). It still sounded like a girl’s voice. His classmates laughed at him and he dared not sing in public. But his love of music made him stronger. Producer Gao Xiaosong said Zhou has “come out of the cocoon (茧) and become a butterfly”. It has taken Zhou a long time to do so. While studying in Ukraine, he learned Ukrainian, Russian, Italian and Polish. He can sing Let It Go in nine different languages. He started to sing on TV talent shows and gradually came to accept himself. At 17, he first sang online without showing his face. Some people fell in love with it. On one of his birthdays, he agreed to show his face. However, when they found out that he was a man, some of them made fun of him. Zhou felt bad about this, but later he got the chance to sing the theme song to the movie Big Fish and Begonia which turned out to be a big success. “I accept my voice,” Zhou said. “It is good as long as it is natural and honest.” Zhou Shen doesn’t just sing well. He is also humorous. He has a nice personality (性格) and is friendly to his fans. Some people call him “treasure boy”. 1.What did Zhou Shen do on the TV show Singer? A.He won first place in the program. B.He made a record in his bedroom. C.He sang a song in different sounds. D.He performed a show in five languages. 2.Why did Zhou Shen’s voice sound like a girl’s? A.An accident changed his voice. B.He wanted to be different from others. C.His voice didn’t change during puberty. D.He practiced singing like his favorite singer. 3.People call Zhou Shen “treasure boy” because of his ________. A.rich life B.popular songs C.love for music D.personalities and talent 4.What is the purpose of the text? A.To present Zhou Shen’s songs. B.To show Zhou Shen’s road to success. C.To explain Zhou Shen’s special voice. D.To introduce Zhou Shen’s new movie. 由第一段“On the show, he sang a song in five different voices including the voice of a little girl, a king and a young man. (在选秀中,他用五种不同的声音演唱一首歌,包括小女孩的声音、国王的声音和年轻男子的声音.)”可知,在表演中,周深用了不同的嗓音唱歌。故选C项。 2.细节理解题。由第二段“However, his voice didn’t change like other boys during puberty. (然而,他的嗓音不像其他处于青春期的男孩一样有所改变。). ”可知,周深的嗓音能如女孩一样的原因在于他没有变声。故选C项。 3.细节理解题。最后一段“Zhou Shen doesn’t just sing well. He is also humorous. He has a nice personality and is friendly to his fans. Some people call him ‘treasure boy’. (周深不仅唱歌好。他也很幽默,性格好,对粉丝友善。一些人称他为“宝藏男孩”。)”由此可知人们称周深为“宝藏男孩”是因为他的音乐天分和他的性格。故选D项。 4.推理判断题。本文从周深特殊的音色出发,介绍了他是如何一步步变成了著名歌手,并受到人们的喜爱。所以是在介绍周深如何走向成功的。故选B项。 Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南·期中) This new school year, I wanted my love for my students to be super adaptive, a little bit blind, and similar to the kind of love a mother gives to her children. I wanted a love that could put up with unappealing personalities and behaviors, which had the ability to lead to my “I wish he or she was not in my class” response, with humor, peace, and curiosity. I decided to go toward the most difficult students with additional kindness, rather than backing away in frustration when my former attempts to change them failed. The changes in my education were faint yet definite. I had always taken students aside when they made poor decisions. But my new plan asked questions that were free of scolding or shame, and more gentle and sincere. Are you feeling all right? Is something bothering you? What happened last night? These questions rarely led to any big “ah ha” moments, but I treated each repeated conversation with patience. Although my love plan was designed to improve my students’ school experience, it completely improved mine as well. It worked magic on my relationships with students and energised me for the school day. My difficult students represented puzzles to solve and relationships to improve, not frightening trouble that would exhaust my joy. Letting go of the assumption that their behaviors must be purposive choices, I was able to avoid feelings of resentment (怨恨) when my students made mistakes. I felt more peaceful and less angry. Loving my students also got easier as the year progressed. I wondered whether my approach would work in the long run. Now it turns out that love brings love. 1.What was the author’s desire in the new term? A.To seek students’ shining points. B.To respect students’ suggestions. C.To be more tolerant of students. D.To show an interest in teaching. 2.What was the change in the author’s education? A.She cared about students’ sleep quality. B.She took badly-behaved students aside. C.She made efforts to lift students’ spirits. D.She offered students chances to explain. 3.What was the impact of the author’s love plan? A.It enabled her to find self-worth. B.It made her feel more composed. C.It guided students to be honest. D.It gave students more spare time. 4.What can we learn from the author’s experience? A.One action can bring two gains. B.There is some light in the dark. C.All the worries are for nothing. D.Facts speak louder than words. 根据第一段“This new school year, I wanted my love for my students to be super adaptive, a little bit blind, and similar to the kind of love a mother gives to her children. I wanted a love that could put up with unappealing personalities and behaviors, which had the ability to lead to my “I wish he or she was not in my class” response, with humor, peace, and curiosity.(这个新学年,我希望我对学生的爱超级有适应力,有点盲目,类似于母亲对孩子的爱。我想要一种可以忍受不讨人喜欢的个性和行为的爱,这种爱能够让我用幽默、平和与好奇来回应“我希望他或她不在我的班上”)”可知,作者在新学期想要对学生更加宽容。故选C。 2.细节理解题。根据第二段中“I had always taken students aside when they made poor decisions. But my new plan asked questions that were free of scolding or shame, and more gentle and sincere. Are you feeling all right? Is something bothering you? What happened last night? These questions rarely led to any big “ah ha” moments, but I treated each repeated conversation with patience.( 过去,每当学生做出糟糕的决定时,我总是会把他们叫到一旁。但我的新计划是提出一些不带责骂或羞辱意味的问题,而且更加温和真诚。比如:你感觉还好吗?是不是有什么事让你烦恼?昨晚发生什么事了?这些问题很少能带来什么重大的“顿悟”时刻,但我每次都会耐心地对待这些反复出现的谈话)”可知,作者教育方面的变化是她给学生解释的机会。故选D。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Letting go of the assumption that their behaviors must be purposive choices, I was able to avoid feelings of resentment (怨恨) when my students made mistakes. I felt more peaceful and less angry.(不再假设他们的行为一定是有目的的选择,当我的学生犯错时,我就能避免怨恨的感觉。我感到更平静,更少生气)”可知,作者的爱计划的影响是它让她感到更平静。故选B。 4.推理判断题。根据第三段中“Although my love plan was designed to improve my students' school experience, it completely improved mine as well. It worked magic on my relationships with students and energized me for the school day.(虽然我的爱计划是为了改善学生的学习体验而设计的,但它也完全改善了我的学习体验。它对我与学生之间的关系产生了神奇的影响,让我在学校里充满活力)”以及最后一段中“Now it turns out that love brings love.(现在看来,爱能带来爱)”可推知,我们能从作者的经历中学到“一举两得”的道理。故选A。 Passage 3 (24-25高一下·湖南·期中) Cocoa School of Journalism (新闻学) and Creative Arts will open on Monday, and aims to inspire and train children of all ages, who are interested in news journalism, making audio shows and story writing. The school is being launched by Serlina Boyd, creator of Cocoa Girl — the UK’s first Black girl magazine — who believes it’s time to “shake up” the British media industry. “Our school will not only teach children the basics of journalism, but also provide support for those with special educational needs,” she said. “Join us in shaping the future of journalism and storytelling.” Boyd said the school — based in Beckenham, south London — will also have an adult storytelling centre for parents and caregivers. Boyd told The Voice, the journalism school will be open to children from all backgrounds and free Caribbean and African food will be available to those who attend. The special center will also offer art design, fashion styling and music classes for teenagers, including adult evening classes and more. She said, “We want to teach children about writing and journalism and the power of words. During the Easter holidays, we are doing two - hour classes for children. We are going to talk about writing and journalism. We are also helping them to write their own short stories that they send in to our Bloomsbury competition.” “We are going to continue that throughout the summer.” she added. Boyd said she hopes to nurture the next generation of reporters and creatives and wants adults to also take up a new hobby and join in the fun. Boyd said, “I hope the school will encourage children and adults to use their voice because it is a gift.” 1.Who started the school? A.A famous London chef. B.A music school director. C.A Beckenham primary teacher. D.A magazine pioneer for Black girls. 2.What is the school’s philosophy on language and communication? A.Teaching the basics of journalism is central B.Competitions demand expert writing styles. C.The power of words requires technical terms. D.Sharing original ideas through words is valued most. 3.What does Boyd want adults to experience? A.Full-time childcare services. B.Strict professional training. C.Relaxed creative exploration. D.Advanced journalism courses. 4.What’s the text mainly about? A.Career training for media professionals. B.Creative development in children and adults. C.Holiday music workshops in a London suburb. D.A school combining free meals with cultural projects. 根据第二段“The school is being launched by Serlina Boyd, creator of Cocoa Girl — the UK’s first Black girl magazine — who believes it’s time to “shake up” the British media industry. (该学校由瑟利娜・博伊德创办,她是《可可女孩》(英国第一本面向黑人女孩的杂志)的创始人,她认为是时候“撼动”英国媒体行业了。)”可知,创办这所学校的是Serlina Boyd,她是英国首本黑人女孩杂志《Cocoa Girl》的创始人。因此,D选项 “一位为黑人女孩创办杂志的先驱”正确。故选D项。 2.推理判断题。根据倒数第四段第一句“She said, “We want to teach children about writing and journalism and the power of words. (她说:“我们想教导孩子们写作、新闻以及文字的力量。”)”以及倒数第四段最后两句“We are going to talk about writing and journalism. We are also helping them to write their own short stories that they send in to our Bloomsbury competition. (我们将讨论写作和新闻业。我们还会帮助他们创作自己的短篇小说,以便提交到我们的布卢姆斯伯里竞赛。)”可知,学校重视通过文字分享原创想法的力量,并鼓励孩子们参与写作和新闻学的学习。因此,D选项“通过文字分享原创想法是最受重视的”符合学校的理念。故选D项。 3.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“Boyd said she hopes to nurture the next generation of reporters and creatives and wants adults to also take up a new hobby and join in the fun. (博伊德说,她希望培养下一代记者和创意人才,并且希望成年人也能培养一种新爱好,享受其中的乐趣。)”以及最后一段“Boyd said, “I hope the school will encourage children and adults to use their voice because it is a gift.” 主题02 人与自我——生活与学习 Passage 1 (24-25高一·湖南·期中) Cesare Mencarini is a high school student. His focus was on math, chemistry and physics. Cesare’s mother is an architect and his father is an electronic engineer. As a child, Cesare became interested in electronics. He loved to experiment. He learned to program computers and equipment like the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. He also worked with a 3D printer. After seeing a video about someone building a fusion reactor (核聚变反应堆), Cesare decided he would do something meaningful, too. The school wasn’t so excited about the idea. But Cesare worked to persuade his teachers. Finally, after a complete safety review, and with an extra advisor offering to help out, the school agreed. Cesare was a strong student, but his regular classes weren’t teaching him how to build a fusion reactor. To learn this, he spent countless hours doing research, looking up information on the Internet, and watching videos. He would read, watch 10 or 15 videos, and then try to solve the problem. He also visited a website where he got advice from scientists with more experience. Step by step, working long hours with his physics teacher and his advisor, Cesare built the reactor. Last June, at the very end of the school year, the reactor was finished. Over a year has passed since then. Cesare has continued to improve the reactor. He has built complicated equipment to control the pressure and to better see and understand what’s going on inside the reactor. He’s one of the youngest students to have built such an advanced fusion reactor. But for Cesare, it wasn’t just about the reactor. It was also about learning by doing, and about making connections with other people doing similar things. College is the next stop for Cesare — perhaps in England, perhaps in Italy. No matter where he goes, he’ll probably continue to change people’s ideas about how much young people can achieve. 1.What made Cesare determined to build a fusion reactor? A.His interest in videos. B.The inspiration from someone. C.His parents’ influence. D.The support from his school. 2.What do we say about Cesare from paragraph 4? A.He struggled to prepare for the reactor. B.He depended heavily on useful videos. C.He worked with experienced scientists. D.He had difficulty in getting information. 3.What is Cesare expected to do in the future? A.Build another reactor. B.Learn new things through the Internet. C.Make greater progress. D.Go to a famous college. 4.Which can be the best title for the text? A.Videos Act As A Teacher B.Cesare Became A Rising Star C.How To Put Theory Into Practice D.A Boy Successfully Built A Reactor 【答案】1.B 2.A 3.C 4.D 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。说明了Cesare Mencarini在学校的支持下, 通过自己的努力建造了一个核聚变反应堆。 1.细节理解题。根据第三段“After seeing a video about someone building a fusion reactor (核聚变反应堆), Cesare decided he would do something meaningful, too.(在看了一个关于建造核聚变反应堆的视频后,切萨雷决定他也要做一些有意义的事情)”可知,Cesare是受到一个视频里的人的启发才决定建造一个核聚变反应堆的。故选B。 2.细节理解题。根据第四段“Cesare was a strong student, but his regular classes weren’t teaching him how to build a fusion reactor. To learn this, he spent countless hours doing research, looking up information on the Internet, and watching videos. He would read, watch 10 or 15 videos, and then try to solve the problem. He also visited a website where he got advice from scientists with more experience.(切萨雷是一名优秀的学生,但他的常规课程没有教他如何建造一个聚变反应堆。为了了解这一点,他花了无数的时间做研究,在网上查找信息,看视频。他会阅读,看10到15个视频,然后尝试解决问题。他还访问了一个网站,从更有经验的科学家那里得到建议)”可知,即Cesare为建造反应堆做了大量准备工作。故选A。 3.推理判断题。根据最后一段“No matter where he goes, he’ll probably continue to change people’s ideas about how much young people can achieve.(无论他走到哪里,他可能会继续改变人们对年轻人能取得多大成就的看法)”可知,切萨雷将来会取得更大进步。故选C。 4.主旨大意题。根据最后一段“He’s one of the youngest students to have built such an advanced fusion reactor. But for Cesare, it wasn’t just about the reactor. It was also about learning by doing, and about making connections with other people doing similar things.(他是建造如此先进聚变反应堆的最年轻的学生之一。但对切萨雷来说,这不仅仅是反应堆的问题。这也是关于在实践中学习,以及与其他做类似事情的人建立联系)”以及通读全文可知,Cesare Mencarini在学校的支持下,通过自己的努力建造了一个核聚变反应堆。故D选项“一个男孩成功地建造了一个反应堆”是文章的最佳标题。故选D。 Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南长沙·期中) Whenever it comes to holidays, my mother makes fun of my sister and me about how we “make out like robbers”. She is referring to the fact that we are half Jewish and half Indian, so we receive gifts on both the festivals of lights, Hanukkah and Diwali. Though my mother teases us, I do not mind getting two sets of gifts! Hanukkah is celebrated on the 25th day of the Jewish month, which is usually sometime in December. On Hanukkah, like most Jewish families, we light a menorah (大烛台) and say a prayer each night. We also say a special prayer on the first night. After that, it is a tradition for my sister and me to do “hot and cold” for our hidden Hanukkah gifts. When we walk towards the gift, our parents say “hot” and when we walk farther away, they say “cold”. We each receive one present every night of Hanukkah. Another part I like about this holiday is seeing family members who we do not see often. My aunt usually stays for a few days, and we sometimes visit other relatives. Diwali is observed on the 13th day of the dark fortnight of the month of Ashwin (October/ November). To celebrate Diwali, my family does a pooja, or prayers, in honor of the goddess Lakshmi. Since she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, the pooja includes washing silver coins in milk and water. In India, people decorate their houses with lamps, similar to the way you might light up your house for Christmas. My family just place a few candles outside. We also set off firecrackers, which is my favorite part. We often do this activity with friends to add to the excitement. Both holidays have different histories and stories. We celebrate them in different ways, yet they both have the same meaning. They both translate into Festival of Lights, and they both mean family and presents for me! 1.Why does the author receive gifts on both Hanukkah and Diwali? A.She lives in a well-off family. B.She lives in two different countries. C.Her parents like observing their different cultures. D.Her parents like spending money buying gifts for her. 2.What does the underlined phrase “hot and cold” in paragraph 2 refer to? A.A kind of Hanukkah game. B.A riddle written on lights. C.A sort of Hanukkah gift. D.A can of festival drink. 3.What do Hanukkah and Diwali have in common? A.They share the same history and culture. B.They are both related to the origin of lights. C.They get the families to do their prayers. D.They are celebrated by both Jews and Indians. 4.What is the author’s attitude towards Hanukkah and Diwali? A.Unclear. B.Indifferent. C.Appreciative. D.Critical. 【答案】1.C 2.A 3.C 4.C 【导语】这是一篇记叙文,主要讲述了作者因为父母是犹太人和印度人而庆祝两种不同文化的节日Hanukkah和Diwali,并对两个节日作了介绍。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段中“She is referring to the fact that we are half Jewish and half Indian, so we receive gifts on both the festivals of lights, Hanukkah and Diwali.(她指的是这样一个事实:我们一半是犹太人,一半是印度人,所以我们在光明节和排灯节都收到礼物)”可知,作者的父母一个是犹太人,一个是印度人,因为父母庆祝各自不同的文化节日,作者会在两个节日里得到礼物,故选C。 2.词句猜测题。根据第二段中“When we walk towards the gift, our parents say ‘hot’ and when we walk farther away, they say ‘cold’.(当我们走向礼物时,父母说‘热’,当我们走远了,他们说‘冷’)”可推知,“hot and cold”是一种光明节期间寻找礼物的游戏,故选A。 3.细节理解题。根据第二段中“On Hanukkah, like most Jewish families, we light a menorah (大烛台) and say a prayer each night.(在光明节,像大多数犹太家庭一样,我们每天晚上点燃烛台祈祷)”和第三段中“To celebrate Diwali, my family does a pooja, or prayers, in honor of the goddess Lakshmi.(为了庆祝排灯节,我的家人会为拉克希米女神祈祷)”可知,两个节日都让家人祈祷,故选C。 4.推理判断题。根据第二段中“Another part I like about this holiday is seeing family members who we do not see often.(我喜欢这个假期的另一部分是看到我们不经常见到的家人。)”、第三段中“We also set off firecrackers, which is my favorite part. We often do this activity with friends to add to the excitement.(我们还放鞭炮,这是我最喜欢的部分。我们经常和朋友一起做这个活动来增加刺激。)”以及最后一段中“They both translate into Festival of Lights, and they both mean family and presents for me!(它们都译为‘灯节’,对我来说都意味着家人和礼物)”可知,作者喜欢庆祝这两个节日,持欣赏态度,故选C。 Passage 3 (24-25高一下·湖南永州·期中) My uncle George lives in a home with a few other people like him. He enjoys a simple life—no smartphones, no Internet—so communication is limited to in-person visits and old fashioned landline phone calls. Uncle George and I have always shared a special bond. When I was around 5, I asked my parents what was wrong with him. They explained that nothing was “wrong” exactly, but that he was mentally disabled. Back then, George would often ask for my phone number, write it down, call me a few times, and then stop when he lost the paper. This continued for years until, about six years ago, he memorized my number. Since then, he calls me 10 times a day, every day, from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m. I answer about two calls a day. Our calls always follow the same pattern, with George creating one of three imaginary scenes. In one, he’s my dad, scolding me for cursing (咒骂). In another, he’s Major Charles Winchester from the TV show MASH, and I’m Captain B.J. Hunnicutt. In the last, we’re courageous lifeguards planning to save a drowning person. We play our roles for about a minute, then laugh. Afterward, he says, “You know something, Tommy? I’m just calling to say you’re the best guy I know.” I reply, “So are you. The two of us!” He then asks about my dinner or if I’m watching a game, and promises to call back at a specific time (though he always calls earlier). These calls have been a constant in my life for years. No matter what’s happening—breakups, work problems, or stress—I can always count on George’s calls to make me laugh and feel like a kid again. Because George doesn’t understand adult life, he can’t fully grasp my struggles, but he always brings the same love and energy. His unwavering support is a gift that saves me, just a little, every day. 1.What is the main way Uncle George communicates with the author? A.Through text messages. B.By using a landline. C.Through social media. D.By visiting frequently. 2.What can we infer from the second paragraph? A.Nothing was wrong with George. B.The author rarely talks to George. C.The author calls back George twice a day. D.George struggles with remembering things. 3.What do Uncle George and the author pretend to be? A.Distant relatives. B.A major and a citizen. C.Two fearless lifeguards. D.A captain and a soldier. 4.How does Uncle George’s support affect the author? A.It saves the author’s life. B.It helps the author feel loved. C.It makes the author feel like an adult. D.It makes the author reliable and energetic. 【答案】1.B 2.D 3.C 4.B 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章通过描述作者与叔叔George之间的特殊关系,展示了即使在智力受限的情况下,亲情和爱依然能够带来巨大的力量和安慰。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段“He enjoys a simple life—no smartphones, no Internet—so communication is limited to in-person visits and old fashioned landline phone calls. (他享受着一种简单的生活——没有智能手机,也没有互联网——因此交流仅限于面对面的访问和传统的座机电话。)”可知,叔叔George与作者沟通的主要方式是通过座机电话,故选B项。 2.推理判断题。根据第二段“Back then, George would often ask for my phone number, write it down, call me a few times, and then stop when he lost the paper. This continued for years until, about six years ago, he memorized my number. (那时,George经常问我电话号码,写下来,给我打几次电话,然后在他丢失纸条时停止通话。这种情况持续了多年,直到大约六年前,他记住了我的号码)”可知,George在记忆方面存在困难,故选D项。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段“In one, he’s my dad, scolding me for cursing. In another, he’s Major Charles Winchester from the TV show MASH, and I’m Captain B. J. Hunnicutt. In the last, we’re courageous lifeguards planning to save a drowning person. (在一个场景中,他是我爸爸,责备我骂人。在另一个场景中,他是电视剧《MASH》中的查尔斯·温彻斯特少校,而我是比·杰·汉尼卡特上尉。在最后一个场景中,我们是勇敢的救生员,计划去救一个溺水的人)”可知,他们假装是勇敢的救生员,故选C项。 4.推理判断题。根据最后一段“No matter what’s happening—breakups, work problems, or stress—I can always count on George’s calls to make me laugh and feel like a kid again. Because George doesn’t understand adult life, he can’t fully grasp my struggles, but he always brings the same love and energy. His unwavering support is a gift that saves me, just a little, every day. (无论发生什么——分手、工作问题还是压力——我总是可以依靠George的电话让我笑起来,再次感觉像个孩子。因为George不理解成年生活,他无法完全理解我的挣扎,但他总是带来同样的爱和活力。他坚定不移的支持是我每天都能得到一点拯救的礼物)”可知,George的支持让作者感到被爱,故选B项。 主题03 人与社会 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·湖南邵阳·期中) When I was in my first year of high school, I had a terrible time when every area of my life was a disaster. I felt so hopeless and alone that I thought everything was impossible. On one such day, I was walking from class across the school to catch the school bus home, with my head down, fighting tears of total hopelessness, when a young man came down the side-walk toward me. Though I had never seen him before, I did not want him to see that I was in such low spirits, so I turned my head away and hoped to hurry past. I thought he’d walk on by, but he moved until he was directly in front of me, waited until I looked up, and then smiled. Looking into my eyes, this stranger spoke in a quiet voice: “Whatever is wrong will pass. You’re going to be OK, just hang on.” He then smiled again and walked away. I can’t explain the effect of that man’s unexpected kindness and caring! He gave me the one thing that I’d lost completely — hope. I looked for him in our school to thank him, but never saw him again. That was thirty years ago. And I’ve never forgotten that moment. Over the years, whenever I see someone who is in trouble, I will always think of that young man and try to give a flash of hope in the dark wherever I can. I carry things for people when they are too heavy for them, sit with naughty babies in the waiting room while their mothers are busy, or talk to tired couples at the checkout line or it could be anything. If you keep your head up, your heart will show you the place that needs hope. 1.Where did the writer meet with the young man? A.In the school bus. B.In the school C.In the classroom. D.In the library. 2.From the passage we may infer that the author A.was thankful to that young man very much B.made friends with the young man afterwards C.had known the young man for a long time D.avoided meeting the young man since then 3.The author has given a lot of help to others in order to A.show his sympathy to those who are badly ill B.realize his promise made to the young man C.give others hope of life when they are in trouble D.get respect from those who were helped by him 4.It can be known from the passage that A.the young man always tried his best to help those who were in trouble B.the author had never been praised by others before he met with the young man C.it was the young man’s smile and words that made the author feel hopeful D.the author traveled to a lot of places to look for the young man but failed 【答案】1.B 2.A 3.C 4.C 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。作者在高中一年级时生活遭遇诸多不顺,感到绝望无助。一天在学校里,一个陌生人的善意和鼓励的话语给了作者希望。三十年来,作者一直铭记那一刻,并在生活中向处于困境的人伸出援手,传递希望。 1.细节理解题。根据第二段“On one such day, I was walking from class across the school to catch the school bus home, with my head down, fighting tears of total hopelessness, when a young man came down the side-walk toward me(在这样的一天,我从教室穿过学校走去赶校车回家,低着头,强忍着彻底绝望的泪水,这时一个年轻人从人行道上向我走来)”可知,作者看见一个年轻人从人行道上走来,所以作者是在学校里遇到那个年轻人的。故选B项。 2.推理判断题。根据第四段“I can’t explain the effect of that man’s unexpected kindness and caring! He gave me the one thing that I’d lost completely — hope. I looked for him in our school to thank him, but never saw him again(我无法解释那个男人出乎意料的善良和关心所带来的影响!他给了我一样我完全失去的东西——希望。我在学校里找他想感谢他,但再也没有见过他)”可知,那个年轻人的话对作者影响很大,给了作者希望,作者还在学校找他想要感谢他,由此可以推断出作者非常感激那个年轻人。故选A项。 3.细节理解题。根据第五段“Over the years, whenever I see someone who is in trouble, I will always think of that young man and try to give a flash of hope in the dark wherever I can. I carry things for people when they are too heavy for them, sit with naughty babies in the waiting room while their mothers are busy, or talk to tired couples at the checkout line or it could be anything(多年来,每当我看到有人处于困境中,我总会想起那个年轻人,并尽我所能在黑暗中给他们一丝希望。当人们拿不动东西时,我会帮他们拿东西,当妈妈们忙碌时,我会在候诊室里陪调皮的宝宝们坐着,或者在收银台前和疲惫的夫妇聊天,或者做任何事情)”可知,每当作者看到有人处于困境中,总会想起那个年轻人,并尽自己所能在黑暗中给他们一丝希望,所以作者帮助别人是为了在别人遇到困难时给他们生活的希望。故选C项。 4.细节理解题。根据第三段“Looking into my eyes, this stranger spoke in a quiet voice: “Whatever is wrong will pass. You’re going to be OK, just hang on.” He then smiled again and walked away(这个陌生人看着我的眼睛,轻声说:“无论出了什么问题都会过去的。你会好起来的,坚持住。”然后他又笑了笑,走开了)”以及第四段“I can’t explain the effect of that man’s unexpected kindness and caring! He gave me the one thing that I’d lost completely-hope(我无法解释那个男人出乎意料的善良和关心所带来的影响!他给了我一样我完全失去的东西——希望)”可知,陌生人对作者说无论出了什么问题都会过去的。你会好起来的,坚持住。然后他笑了笑,走开了。男人出乎意料的善良和关心所带来的影响给了作者一样自己完全失去的东西——希望,所以是那个年轻人的微笑和话语让作者感到有希望,故选C项。 Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南长沙·期中) Wilbur and Orville Wright are the American inventors who made a small engine-powered flying machine. They proved that flight without the aid of gas-filled balloons was possible. Wilbur Wright was born in 1867 near Melville, Indiana. His brother Orville was born four years later in Dayton, Ohio. As they grew up, the Wright brothers experimented with mechanical things. One day, their father came home with a toy helicopter (直升机) and gave it to them, who enjoyed playing with it very much. Soon after, the Wright brothers began to design their own flying machine. To achieve that goal, the Wright brothers had to address lots of difficulties. In the process, they did many tests with gliders (滑翔机). By the autumn of 1903, Wilbur and Orville had designed and built an airplane powered by a gas engine. The plane had wings of 12 meters across. It weighed about 340 kilograms, including the pilot. On December 17, 1903, they made the world’s first flight in a machine that was heavier than air and powered by an engine. Orville flew the plane 36 meters. He was in the air for 12 seconds. The two brothers made three more flights that day. Four other men watched the Wright brothers first flights. One of the men took pictures. Few newspapers, however, noted the event. It was almost five years before the Wright brothers became famous. In 1908, Wilbur went to France. He gave a flight performance at heights of 90 meters. A French company agreed to begin making the Wright brothers’ flying machine. Orville made successful flights in the United States at the time when Wilbur was in France. The United States War Department agreed to buy a Wright brothers’ plane. Wilbur and Orville suddenly became world heroes. The brothers, however, had no desire for public recognition. They returned to Dayton, where they continued to improve their airplanes. They taught many others how to fly. Today, the Wright brothers’ first airplane is in the Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Visitors to the museum can have a look at the Wright brothers’ small plane. 1.What inspired the Wright brothers to invent the plane? A.A present from their father. B.A chance meet up with flight engineers. C.The gas-filled balloons they observed. D.The gliders they saw at an air show. 2.How did the public respond to the Wright brothers’ first flight? A.They valued its practical use. B.They paid little attention to it. C.They asked for further development of it. D.They thought it was a waste of money. 3.What was the Wright brothers’ attitude towards the praise given to them? A.Unclear. B.Doubtful. C.Uncaring. D.Thankful. 4.What message does the author share through the text? A.Hard work pays off. B.All roads lead to Rome. C.Many hands make light work. D.A good beginning is half done. 【答案】1.A 2.B 3.C 4.A 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。主要讲述了美国发明家威尔伯・莱特和奥维尔・莱特兄弟,他们制造了小型发动机驱动的飞行器,证明了无需充气气球辅助也能飞行。 1.细节理解题。根据第二段中“One day, their father came home with a toy helicopter (直升机) and gave it to them, who enjoyed playing with it very much. Soon after, the Wright brothers began to design their own flying machine.(一天,他们的父亲带着一架玩具直升机回家,把它给了他们,他们非常喜欢玩它。不久之后,莱特兄弟开始设计他们自己的飞行器。)”可知,父亲带回家的玩具直升机让他们非常喜欢,之后他们开始设计自己的飞行器。所以是父亲给的礼物启发了莱特兄弟发明飞机。故选A项。 2.细节理解题。根据第四段中“Four other men watched the Wright brothers first flights. One of the men took pictures. Few newspapers, however, noted the event.(另外四个人观看了莱特兄弟的首次飞行。其中一名男子拍了照片。然而,很少有报纸注意到这一事件。)”可知,只有四个人观看了莱特兄弟的首次飞行,而且几乎没有报纸报道这件事,说明公众对莱特兄弟的首次飞行关注很少。故选B项。 3.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段中“The United States War Department agreed to buy a Wright brothers’ plane. Wilbur and Orville suddenly became world heroes. The brothers, however, had no desire for public recognition. They returned to Dayton, where they continued to improve their airplanes. They taught many others how to fly.(美国陆军部同意购买莱特兄弟的飞机。 故选A项。 主题01 人与社会 Passage 1 (24-25高一·湖南·期中) Being the strong wife and mother that she is, Diana Register often hid her deep pain and suffering from those around her. (小小的善举会带来不同)”。故选D项。 Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南衡阳·期中) A few years ago, I stood in a small classroom just outside of New York City, watching a high schooler named Serena Stevenson answer math questions. A teacher read out numbers — 74,470, 70,809 and 98,402 — and Stevenson added them in her head. For each question, she closed her eyes, and then the fingers of her right hand began to move. She answered most of the questions correctly. The key to her success was an ancient technology called the abacus (算盘). Stevenson used a practice called the “mental abacus”, imagining the abacus in her mind and then using her fingers to work out the problems. From watching Stevenson, I knew that acquiring a skill at the abacus was more than a matter of counting beads (珠子), so I decided to sign up for an abacus course with my two daughters to see if we could also improve our math skills. I was one of the many who had some math doubts and I felt a touch of fear. My normal solution was escape, and if I had to calculate something, I would go online. Then after a few abacus classes and a good amount of practice, math seemed a little less frightening. I didn’t become Euclid, founder of geometry (几何学), but the practice reduced my fear. Confidence grows easily on the device, and abacus students are less likely to be nervous about an upcoming math test, according to one study. Part of the reason, it seems, is that practice and results appear to go hand in hand. My kids gained much as well. My youngest daughter could work out those math problems that once confused her, while my older child took her abacus to school to show it to her classmates and teachers. These were just small successes for them, but that was how they finally developed confidence. 1.What is the main purpose of the first paragraph? A.To prove the difficulty of math. B.To introduce the topic of the abacus. C.To show the cleverness of Stevenson. D.To stress the importance of abacus learning. 2.What do we know about the author from Paragraph 3? A.He was weak in math. B.He was good at computers. C.He regarded math as useful. D.He had a close relationship with kids. 3.What did the author realize from his learning experience? A.All roads lead to Rome. B.It’s never too late to learn. C.Faith can move mountains. D.Practice makes perfect. 4.What is the best title for the text? A.The Secret to My Success B.A Rough Ride — Learning Math C.The Power of Learning the Abacus D.The Abacus — an Ancient Technology 【答案】37.B 38.A 39.D 40.C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。 根据第一段“A few years ago, I stood in a small classroom just outside of New York City, watching a high schooler named Serena Stevenson answer math questions. Stevenson used a practice called the “mental abacus”, imagining the abacus in her mind and then using her fingers to work out the problems. (她成功的关键是一种古老的技术——算盘。史蒂文森采用了一种名为‘珠心算’的练习方法,即在脑海中想象算盘,然后用手指来解决问题。)”可知,第一段的主要目的是引入算盘这一话题。故选B。 38.细节理解题。根据第三段中“I was one of the many who had some math doubts and I felt a touch of fear. (我是那些对数学有疑问的人之一,我感到一丝恐惧。)”可知,作者数学不好。故选A。 39. 根据第四段“Then after a few abacus classes and a good amount of practice, math seemed a little less frightening. I didn’t become Euclid, founder of geometry (几何学), but the practice reduced my fear. Her parents met and fell in love in the mountains. Her mother climbed, her father climbed, and both her elder brothers climbed. It was only natural that she would join them. But while she was the last to start, Kim outclimbed her family a long time ago — in fact, few others can climb to the same height as her. Kim, 30, is a superstar of the sport climbing world. As a previous world champion, she faces a new challenge: the Olympics. At the Tokyo 2020, sport climbing appears for the first time. The competition will combine bouldering climbing (抱石攀岩), lead climbing and speed climbing. Kim has already qualified for the South Korean national team, and the team begins its Olympic qualification efforts later this summer. Kim is good at lead climbing, but Tokyo 2020 is throwing up new challenges. “I have to do speed climbing, which I’ve never done before,” she explained, “It has been hard recently because of that.” As an ambassador (大使) for the sport, she’s gone to extreme lengths to raise climbing’s public attention in South Korea. In 2017, Kim climbed the 555-meter Lotte World Tower in Seoul. “I thought it would be a good way to let people know about sport climbing,” Kim said. Kim has climbed for 19 years. She said, “I will take the Tokyo 2020 as a chance to prove myself.” She enjoys the chance to stand in front of a new wall and climb it for the first time. “When I finish a climb, that sense of achievement and joy are the biggest attraction,” she explained. “Climbing is everything to me.” 1.What can we learn about Kim Ja-in from paragraph 1? I also think my work is important. There was a time when I thought I would never have that sort of career. I wasn’t an excellent student, because I didn’t do much schoolwork. In my final term, I started thinking what I might do and found I didn’t have much to offer. I just accepted that I wasn’t the type to have a career. I then found myself a job, looking after two little girls. It wasn’t too bad at first. But the problems began when I agreed to live in, so that I would be there if my boss had to go out for business in the evening. We agreed that if I had to work extra hours one week, she’d give me time off the next. But unfortunately, it didn’t often work out. I was getting extremely tired and fed up, because I had too many late nights and early mornings with the children. One Sunday, I was in the park with the children, and met Megan who used to go to school with me. I told her about my situation. She suggested that I should do a course and get a qualification (资格证书) if I wanted to work with children. I didn’t think I would be accepted, because I didn’t take many exams in school. She persuaded me to phone the local college and they were really helpful. My experience counted for a lot and I got on a part-time course. I had to leave my job with the family, and got work helping out at a kindergarten. Now I’ve got a full-time job there. I shall always be thankful to Megan. I wish I had known earlier that you could have a career, even if you aren’t top of the class at school. 1.What is the author’s present job? A.Working part-time in a college. B.Taking care of children for a family. C.Helping children with their schoolwork. D.Looking after children at a kindergarten. 2.Why did the author leave her first job? A.She found a full-time job. B.She was fed up with children. C.She decided to attend a part-time course. D.She needed a rest after working extra hours. 3.Which of the following is not true according to the passage? A.Megan helped the author find a part-time job. B.The author used to take care of two girls in a family. C.In the family with two girls, the author had to work extra hours very often. D.The author met Megan in a park. 4.What has the author learned from her own experiences? A.Less successful students can still have a career. B.Qualifications are necessary for a career. C.Hard work makes an excellent student. D.One must choose the job he likes. 【答案】1.D 2.C 3.A 4.A 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,主要介绍了作者找到适合自己的工作的经历。 1.推理判断题。根据第一段中的“I really love my job because I enjoy working with small children and like the challenges and awards from the job.(我真的很喜欢我的工作,因为我喜欢做儿童工作,喜欢工作带来的挑战和奖励。)”、第四段中的“I had to leave my job with the family, and got work helping out at a kindergarten.(我不得不辞去在那一家的工作,在幼儿园找了份帮忙的工作。)”和最后一段中的“Now I’ve got a full-time job there.(现在我在那里有一份全职工作。)”可知,现在作者在幼儿园有了一份全职工作,她和小孩子打交道,由此可推测,她现在在幼儿园照顾小孩子。故选D。 2.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“My experience counted for a lot and I got on a part-time course. I had to leave my job with the family, and got work helping out at a kindergarten.(我的经验很重要,我上了一门兼读课程。我不得不辞去在那一家的工作,在幼儿园找了份帮忙的工作。)”可知,由于作者要上兼读课程,所以辞去了第一份工作。故选C。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“I then found myself a job, looking after two little girls.(然后我找到了一份工作,照顾两个小女孩。)”和“We agreed that if I had to work extra hours one week, she’d give me time off the next. Her fluent English and confident feature showcased in the videos have deeply impressed the viewers, sparking curiosity about how an ordinary-looking sanitation worker had such impressive English skills. Behind the hit lies a decade-long journey of persistence. In 2012, Zhang Jianna took on the role of a sanitation worker in the embassy (大使馆) area of Sanlitun in Beijing’s Chaoyang district. A special encounter while working has motivated Zhang to learn English by herself, which she continues with determination to this day. “My goal is quite simple. I just want to help whenever Someone is in need, whether asking for directions, visa procedures, or telling them about the embassy area I am responsible for,” said Zhang. Thus, at the age of 40, Zhang began a personal challenge. Without a teacher, she began learning English from her children’s textbooks, starting with basic words and phrases commonly used for giving directions. With no fixed study hours, she used every spare moment. While others rested, she memorized vocabulary and practiced speaking. Upon arriving home after work, she would write down new knowledge points and review them until she thoroughly understood them. Over the years, she has filled over a dozen notebooks. Her memory posed her biggest challenge. “Learning English at an older age, I would easily forget the words I learned before. Persistence is the key to learning English. Learn step by step, learn every day,” Zhang said. When asked about the greatest reward of learning English, Zhang said, “Growing up in a rural area without a college education, I sometimes feared being looked down upon. But every time I help a stranger in English, I feel incredibly accomplished.” “Tiring, but satisfying,” Zhang Jianna reflects on her work and language learning. “To serve others makes me happy, and it’s where I prove my self-worth,” said Zhang. “After retirement, I also want to introduce my hometown in English and improve local tourism,” she said, acknowledging that her inspiring journey has led to this new goal. 2.What aroused curiosity about Zhang Jianna? A.Her confident expression. B.Her role as a sanitation worker. C.Her great fluency in English. D.Her friendly attitude to foreigners. 2.How did Zhang Jianna learn English? A.With the help of a teacher. B.Through watching videos online. C.From her children’s textbooks. D.By attending language classes. 3.What does Zhang Jianna think of the greatest reward of learning English? A.Better job opportunities. B.Respect from family members. C.Social recognition. D.Self-confidence. 4.What is Zhang Jianna’s future goal related to English learning? A.To promote local tourism in her hometown. B.To become a language teacher. C.To work in an embassy abroad. Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南·期中) This new school year, I wanted my love for my students to be super adaptive, a little bit blind, and similar to the kind of love a mother gives to her children. A.Videos Act As A Teacher B.Cesare Became A Rising Star C.How To Put Theory Into Practice D.A Boy Successfully Built A Reactor Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南长沙·期中) Whenever it comes to holidays, my mother makes fun of my sister and me about how we “make out like robbers”. D.Critical. Passage 3 (24-25高一下·湖南永州·期中) My uncle George lives in a home with a few other people like him. 主题03 人与社会 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·湖南邵阳·期中) When I was in my first year of high school, I had a terrible time when every area of my life was a disaster. 主题01 人与社会 Passage 1 (24-25高一·湖南·期中) Being the strong wife and mother that she is, Diana Register often hid her deep pain and suffering from those around her. In the weeks and months following her husband’s cancer diagnosis, Diana would search for “hiding” places where she could let the uncontrollable waterfalls of tears flow from her eyes. “The storage room was a favorite. Then was the shower. But when I wasn’t home, it was the parking lots that served as my hiding places,” she said. After her husband passed away, parking lots were Diana’s safe haven (避风港) for pain and sorrow. A pink straw, and the words ‘We love you’ written around it.” The girl didn’t know Diana’s pain or her story, but she knew she was hurting and couldn’t fix it. “She wanted me to know I wasn’t alone and that whatever trial I was going through, there were people out there who cared about me.” 1.What would Diana do when she wanted to cry? Passage 2 (24-25高一下·湖南衡阳·期中) A few years ago, I stood in a small classroom just outside of New York City, watching a high schooler named Serena Stevenson answer math questions. Passage 3 (23-24高一下·湖南长沙·期中) Recently, video clips of Zhang Jianns, a sanitation (环卫) worker, directing foreigners have gone viral online.
