A new kind of digital art creation, known as AI art, has been in ____30____ for several years. It is considered by many people as a significant modern innovation that mixes technology with human creativity.
AI art is created using artificial intelligence. An artist types a sentence, called a “prompt”, into a computer programme. The programme then uses a huge database of images to generate a new picture based on the words. This means anyone can create complex digital artworks, even ____31____ traditional drawing skills.
This new invention has started many discussions in the art world. Some people worry that AI art is not real art because a machine makes it. Others feel it is a powerful new tool that can help people ____32____ their ideas in amazing ways. For professional artists, it can be ____33____ useful for quickly creating early drafts and exploring new styles.
The technology also raises questions about money and value. Some AI-generated artworks have sold for high prices. However, because the AI learns from the existing art made by humans, there are debates about who really owns the new creation. Is it the person who wrote the prompt, the programmer who made the AI, or the artists whose work the AI learned from? Clear rules will make it ____34____ for this new market to grow fairly.
Despite the debates, AI art is becoming more popular. It is changing how we think about art and artists. Learning to use these new tools can be a valuable skill for the future. However, many believe it is ____35____ the end of traditional art, but rather a new, additional way for people to be creative.

Robot Sharks Are Here to Help
Two sharks were swimming fast in West Lake. Their bodies were dark and shiny, and their fins (鱼鳍) cut through the water like knives. Wait a second—sharks in a lake? How could that be? They are not real sharks, but robots! Their job is to help visitors find lost phones and other things in the water. Let’s hear what their engineer has to say.
Why sharks? Sharks are great swimmers. About two thirds of their bodies can bend (弯曲) and twist (扭动). So they can swim fast and turn quickly. When a robot shark swims in a pond, goldfish often follow it. Because they think it’s their new friend!
Can it swim like a real fish? Not quite yet. Real fish are faster because of their soft muscles (肌肉). The robot shark’s body is harder. But scientists are still improving it. Maybe one day, it’ll swim just like the real fish!
Task One: Answer the questions. (回答问题)8%
36. What are the robot sharks in West Lake used for?
_____________________________________
37. Why are sharks chosen to be the shape of the robots? List two reasons.
_____________________________________
38. How long can the robot shark swim with its battery?

【答案】36. To help visitors find lost phones and other things in the water.
37. Sharks are great swimmers; they can swim fast and turn quickly.
38. For four hours.
39. Slower. Because real fish have soft muscles while the robot shark’s body is harder.
40. I would choose a robot bird. It can fly high to rescue people in mountains, deliver medicine to faraway villages, and watch over forests to stop fires.
