Analysts forecast prices will keep rising through mid-2026 and may take 18 months to stabilize. We’ve reviewed multiple SD cards for speed, performance and reliability, and only recommend cards that we would happily use ourselves. SanDisk 128GB Extreme SDXC card: £33 at Amazon The least affected card by the price hikes, this SanDisk Extreme card, specifically the 128GB, 180MB/s, U3 version, is practically the same price that it was in December: Sure, it’s not a record-low price, but the price increase since the global peak is insignificant. Lexar 128GB Professional Silver: £40 at Amazon. In the last 90 days, this U3 Lexar card with a 250MBs write speed has increased from approximately £30 to £40, making it another card to avoid the worst of the price hikes. It’s available in 64GB to 1TB version, but the 128GB, available via the link, is the most economical GB. If you’d like a more professional one, Lexar sells a “Silver Pro” version with twice the speed, but it’s twice the price since 2025. Kingston 64 GB Canvas Go! Plus: £21 at Amazon For a cheap and cheerful SD card, try the Kingston Canvas Go! Plus. The 128GB version costs just 50% more than the 64GB version, with both SDXC, U3 cards offering a 170MB read speed. Amazon’s price checker illustrates this card cost around £17 in December 2025. Those in urgent need should buy now, while others can avoid panic buying and use existing cards. Caution is advised against cheap unknown brands due to fake risks. 1. Which card is more economical in its 128 GB size? A. Lexar Professional Silver. B. Lexar “Silver Pro”. C. Kingston Canvas Go! Plus. D. SanDisk Extreme SDXC. 2. What do the three recommended cards have in common? A. They are all 128GB in capacity. B. They all cost the same as in last December. C. They are all twice the price since 2025. D. They are all U3 version cards. 3. Where is the text most probably taken from? A. A personal finance blog. B. A technology review website. C. A consumer electronics textbook. D. A daily life advice column. B Expert birdwatchers possess unique brain differences that enable their exceptional ability to identify unfamiliar birds, suggesting that birdwatching reshapes the brain much like learning a language or playing a musical instrument. Such activities may strengthen cognitive (认知的) reserve — the brain’s capacity to resist aging and adapt to damage — through neuroplasticity (神经可塑性), the process by which the brain reorganizes neural pathways with repeated skill practice, as observed in professional musicians and athletes. To explore whether birding similarly changes the brain, researchers at York University studied 48 hobbyist birdwatchers, divided into experts and amateurs, with comparable age, gender, and educational backgrounds. During brain scans, participants viewed bird images for less than four seconds and then identified the same species among four similar-looking options. The results showed that experts correctly identified 83% of local bird species and 61% of non-local ones, while amateurs achieved only 44% accuracy for both groups. When identifying non-local birds, experts exhibited increased activity in three key brain regions associated with object recognition, visual processing, attention, and working memory. These regions also appeared more structurally complex and organized in experts than in amateurs, indicating that developing birdwatching expertise physically reshapes the brain. Although brain complexity naturally decreases with age in both groups, this decline was significantly slower in expert birders, supporting the idea that specialized mental activities help preserve cognitive function. Researchers note that other hobbies involving attention, memory, and sensory integration could produce similar brain changes, as the benefits arise from cognitive engagement rather than birdwatching specifically. However, the study only provides a photo of brain structure. It remains unclear whether birding directly causes these changes or whether individuals with pre-existing brain differences are more likely to become birdwatchers. Long-term brain scans over months or years are necessary to confirm the cause and fully understand how birdwatching influences brain health and aging. 4. What can we learn from the experiment details? A. All the bird images shown were local species. B. Experts identified 83% of non-local birds correctly. C. Participants should recognize birds within a short time. D. Amateurs performed almost as well as experts. 5. Which brain change is associated with expert birdwatchers? A. Reduced activity in visual processing. B. Decreased working memory capacity. C. More complex structure in object recognition. D. Structural simplification in attention. 6. What can be inferred about the significance of the study? A. Cognitive engagement benefits brain health in the long run. B. Brain complexity decline with age was not slower in expert birders. C. Pre-existing brain differences make people become birdwatchers. D. Non-birdwatching hobbies cannot cause similar brain changes. 7. What can be inferred from the last paragraph? A. Birdwatchers will show more obvious brain changes in the future. B. Long-term brain scans are necessary to influence brain health and aging. C. People with pre-existing brain differences are unfit for birdwatching. D. Long-term scans are essential to confirm the link between birding and brain change. C People’s connection to nature has declined by more than 60% since 1800, almost exactly mirroring the disappearance of nature words such as river, moss and blossom from books, according to a study. Computer modelling predicts that levels of nature connection will continue to decline unless there are far-reaching policy and societal changes — with introducing children to nature at a young age and completely greening urban environments the most effective interventions. The study by Miles Richardson, a professor of nature connectedness at the University of Derby, accurately tracks the loss of nature from people’s lives over 220 years by using data on urbanisation, the loss of wildlife in neighbourhoods and, crucially, parents no longer passing on engagement with nature to their children. “Nature connection is now accepted as a key root cause of the environmental crisis,” said Richardson. “There’s a need for transformational change if we’re going to change society’s relationship with nature.” The study found that measures to increase popular engagement with the natural world were not effective at overturning long-term declines in nature connection. Richardson said such projects by charities — for instance, the Wildlife Trusts’ #30DaysWild — were still important for boosting mental health but the modelling suggested they don’t halt the intergenerational loss of nature connection. More effective, according to the study, are measures inspiring awareness and engagement with nature in young children and families, such as forest school nurseries. A further obstacle to restoring nature connection is that the modelling shows policies to transform early education and urban areas need to be in place over the next 25 years to overturn the decline. But if done, increases in nature connection would become self-sustaining. Curiously, there may be hope of a cultural shift. Richardson was surprised to find that nature words in books are actually on the increase again — with the decline having fallen from 60.6% between 1800 and 1990 to 52.4% today. “Is it a genuine eco-awareness? Is it the British trend for nature writing? Is it ‘real’ or is it an artificial result of the data? I don’t know.” said Richardson. “There has also been an increasing interest in spirituality in recent decades so that might reflect people getting back in touch with nature.” 8. What is a key reason for the decline in nature connection according to Paragraph 1 and 2? A. The disappearance of nature words from books B. Insufficient nature-related education at school. C. Broken intergenerational nature experience. D. The lack of far-reaching policy in society. 9. What does the underlined word “halt” most probably mean? A. Slow down. B. Put an end to. C. Leave behind. D. Keep up with. 10. What can be inferred from paragraph 4? A. Nature connectedness will recover naturally. B. Urban greening can take effect immediately. C. Effective policies require long-term efforts. D. Early education plays a minor role in the issue. 11. What is Richardson’s attitude toward the increase in nature words? A. Confident and supportive. B. Doubtful but optimistic. C. Critical and cautious. D. Uninterested and casual. D The development of AI for clinical use has boomed, with researchers creating a host of tools, from algorithms to help interpret scans to systems that can aid with diagnoses. But while experts say the technology could bring enormous benefits for healthcare, they say there is also cause for concern, from a lack of testing of the effectiveness of AI tools to questions over who is responsible should a patient have a negative outcome. Prof Derek Angus, of the University of Pittsburgh, said: “There’s definitely going to be instances where there’s the perception that something went wrong and people will look around to blame someone.” The Jama summit on Artificial Intelligence, hosted last year by the Journal of the American Medical Association, brought together a number of experts including clinicians, technology companies, regulatory bodies, insurers, ethicists, lawyers and economists. The resulting report, of which Angus is first author, not only looks at the nature of AI tools and the areas of healthcare where they are being used, but also examines the challenges they present, including legal concerns. Prof Glenn Cohen from Harvard law school, a co-author of the report, said patients could face difficulties showing fault in the use or design of an artificial intelligence product. There could be barriers to gaining information about its inner workings, while it could also be challenging to propose a reasonable alternative design for the product or prove a poor outcome was caused by the AI system. Prof Michelle Mello, another author of the report, from Stanford law school, said courts were well equipped to resolve legal issues. “The problem is that it takes time and will involve inconsistencies in the early days, and this uncertainty elevates costs for everyone in the AI innovation and adoption ecosystem,” she said. The report also raises concerns about how AI tools are evaluated, noting many are outside the oversight of regulators such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It outlines many barriers to evaluating AI tools including that they often need to be in clinical use to be fully assessed, while current approaches to assessment are expensive and complicated. “One of the things that came up during the summit was that the tools that are best evaluated have been least adopted. The tools that are most adopted have been least evaluated.” Angus said. 12. What is the main concern about AI raised in the first paragraph? A. The high cost of testing clinical AI tools. B. Patients’ negative attitude toward AI-related treatment. C. The low accuracy of AI tools in medical diagnoses. D. Problems of inadequate testing and unclear responsibility. 13. What can we learn about the legal challenges of medical AI from Paragraph 3? A. Patients may struggle to prove AI is to blame for harm. B. Courts are not equipped to deal with related cases. C. Experts believe legal worries have been overstated. D. AI developers bear full responsibility for alternative designs. 14. What can we infer from Angus’s remark in the last paragraph? A. Well-assessed AI tools fail to meet clinical demands. B. Most AI tools are under strict regulatory supervision. C. Clinical application ensures the quality of AI tools. D. Popular AI tools often lack satisfactory evaluation. 15. Which of the following is the best title for the text? A. The Current Boom in Clinical AI Development. B. Legal Risks and Responsibility in AI-assisted Healthcare. C. Key Concerns and Challenges Facing Medical AI. D. Effective Ways to Evaluate AI Medical Tools. When you have social anxiety, walking into a room full of people can make you feel like every eyeball in the place is boring directly into your soul, and that nothing you say will possibly be smart or funny or coherent enough. ____16____ Here, Kirsten Hall-Baldwin, a licensed clinical professional counselor in Chicago, shares tips on how to carry a conversation when you have social anxiety. Practice in low-stakes settings Before showing up at a networking event or your 10-year high school reunion, try making conversation with baristas, waiters, neighbors, or co-workers. ____17____ “Smaller, manageable social interactions don’t carry as much emotional weight,” Hall-Baldwin says. “It’s just trying to practice without feeling overwhelming pressure.” Over time, you’ll gain a sense of comfort and confidence as you venture into larger social settings. ____18____ Come up with and rehearse two or three simple conversation starters you can employ when your brain starts freezing. That way, you’ll have something in your back pocket to continue the conversation. You can keep it going without having to freeze and leave to go to the bathroom. One of her favorites: “That’s really interesting — tell me more about that.” If you love traveling, ask people if they’ve gone on any recent vacations, or if you’re a foodie, find out if your conversation partner has tried any great new restaurants. Use the echo technique One of the best habits for someone with social anxiety is paraphrasing what the other person said and then encouraging them to explain in details. For example, if they mention they’re struggling at work, repeat back their words with a question in your voice: “Struggling?” They’ll most likely launch into an explanation of what’s giving them a hard time. ____19____ Have an exit strategy ready ____20____ And your departure can arrive as soon as you’d like. You might feel better if you let your friends know from the start that you have an early morning and will be able to stay only until a certain time. It’s also a good idea to brainstorm a few ways to politely wrap up conversations. For example: “It was really nice talking to you — I’m going to check in with Jane.” Doing so can help reduce anxiety about feeling trapped in a conversation, she says. A. Be the first to speak. B. Draft some icebreakers. C. You just need to keep silent and listen. D. The good news about social events is that they all eventually end. E. These short interactions can be a low-pressure way to build self-esteem. F. That can trigger a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms. G. And that takes some of the pressure off you to feel like you have to come up with original responses. 第三部分 语言应用(共三节,满分35分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) Andrew Duhe wanted to give his wife Jennifer a special 40th birthday gift. Only two days remained before the “A Bite of Two Cultures” presentation at the International Youth Summer Camp, yet her group’s PowerPoint was half blank. Two weeks ago, Lin Yue and Ruby first met at the camp and instantly became friends. They were together all the time — hanging around, sharing snacks, and teaching each other silly words in their own languages. When the final project was announced, they naturally became partners, determined to win the Outstanding Camper Award. Things fell apart during the preparation. They decided to focus on a comparison between Chinese and American food traditions. Lin Yue stayed up late creating a detailed schedule. “You research American food. I’ll handle the Chinese part. Then we combine.” Lin Yue suggested. Ruby shook her head. “Too boring. Let’s design some games, get creative.” Lin Yue sighed but said nothing. That night, she worked on her research until midnight. Passing Ruby’s room, she saw her watching a movie. Two days later, Lin Yue shared her part of the research. Ruby’s contribution arrived later — a few lines and some downloaded photos. “This is it?” Lin Yue’s voice rose. “What’s wrong?” Ruby shrugged. “American food is simple. And I have great game ideas.” “Your way leads nowhere!” Lin Yue lost her patience. Ruby stood up, shooting back. “Your way leaves no room to breathe!” The words hung in the air like a slap. Neither spoke for a long moment. Then Ruby grabbed her laptop and walked out, the door clicking shut behind her. For two days, silence. They sat apart, worked apart. The presentation remained untouched. Then their instructor, Ms. Chen called them in. “You’re both excellent students,” she said. “But now, you’re the only team facing elimination (淘汰). No proper presentation means you’re out. It’s up to you.” In the hallway, Lin Yue stood alone, her mind drifting back to the laughter they had shared. How had everything gone so wrong? She glanced toward Ruby, who sat on a bench across the hall, her eyes fixed on the floor. Paragraph 1: Lin Yue took a deep breath and walked over to Ruby. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: On the presentation day, they stood together before the class. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 重庆一中高2027届高二下期月考 英语试题卷 (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1. 2. We’ve reviewed multiple SD cards for speed, performance and reliability, and only recommend cards that we would happily use ourselves.(分析人士预测,价格将一直上涨到2026年中,并可能需要18个月才能稳定下来。 B。 B Expert birdwatchers possess unique brain differences that enable their exceptional ability to identify unfamiliar birds, suggesting that birdwatching reshapes the brain much like learning a language or playing a musical instrument. C 5. C 6. A 7. 根据第二段中的“During brain scans, participants viewed bird images for less than four seconds and then identified the same species among four similar-looking options.(在脑部扫描过程中,参与者观看鸟类图片的时间不到四秒,然后从四个外观相似的选项中识别出同一物种。)” 根据第三段中的“When identifying non-local birds, experts exhibited increased activity in three key brain regions associated with object recognition, visual processing, attention, and working memory. These regions also appeared more structurally complex and organized in experts than in amateurs.(在识别非本地鸟类时,专家的三个关键大脑区域表现出更强的活动,这些区域与物体识别、视觉处理、注意力和工作记忆相关。 根据第四段中的“Although brain complexity naturally decreases with age in both groups, this decline was significantly slower in expert birders, supporting the idea that specialized mental activities help preserve cognitive function.(尽管两组人的大脑复杂性都会随着年龄增长而自然下降,但观鸟专家的下降速度明显更慢,这支持了专业脑力活动有助于保护认知功能的观点。)” 故选A项。 根据最后一段中的“However, the study only provides a photo of brain structure. It remains unclear whether birding directly causes these changes or whether individuals with pre-existing brain differences are more likely to become birdwatchers. Long-term brain scans over months or years are necessary to confirm the cause and fully understand how birdwatching influences brain health and aging.(然而,这项研究只提供了大脑结构的一个快照。 C People’s connection to nature has declined by more than 60% since 1800, almost exactly mirroring the disappearance of nature words such as river, moss and blossom from books, according to a study. C 9. B 10. C 11. 根据第二段中的“The study by Miles Richardson, a professor of nature connectedness at the University of Derby, accurately tracks the loss of nature from people's lives over 220 years by using data on urbanisation, the loss of wildlife in neighbourhoods and, crucially, parents no longer passing on engagement with nature to their children.(德比大学自然联系教授迈尔斯·理查森的这项研究,利用城市化、社区野生动物减少的数据,以及至关重要的一点——父母不再将对自然的接触传递给孩子,准确追踪了220年来自然从人们生活中的消失。)” 根据第三段中的“Richardson said such projects by charities — for instance, the Wildlife Trusts’ #30DaysWild — were still important for boosting mental health but the modelling suggested they don’t halt the intergenerational loss of nature connection. 根据第四段中的“A further obstacle to restoring nature connection is that the modelling shows policies to transform early education and urban areas need to be in place over the next 25 years to overturn the decline.(恢复自然联系的另一个障碍是,模型显示,改变早期教育和城市环境的政策需要在未来25年内实施,才能扭转这种下降趋势。)” 根据最后一段中的“Richardson was surprised to find that nature words in books are actually on the increase again — with the decline having fallen from 60.6% between 1800 and 1990 to 52.4% today. “Is it a genuine eco-awareness? Is it the British trend for nature writing? Is it ‘real’ or is it an artificial result of the data? I don’t know.” said Richardson. “There has also been an increasing interest in spirituality in recent decades so that might reflect people getting back in touch with nature.”(理查森惊讶地发现,书籍中的自然词汇实际上再次呈上升趋势——其下降幅度从1800年至1990年的60.6%降至如今的52.4%。“这是真正的生态意识吗?是英国自然写作的潮流吗?这是‘真实的’还是数据的人为结果?我不知道。”理查森说。“近几十年来,人们对灵性的兴趣也日益浓厚,这可能反映出人们正在重新与自然建立联系。”)”可知,理查森对自然词汇增多的现象心存疑惑,但也认为存在积极可能,态度是怀疑但乐观。故选B项。 D The development of AI for clinical use has boomed, with researchers creating a host of tools, from algorithms to help interpret scans to systems that can aid with diagnoses. 12. D 13. A 14. D 15. 16. F 17. E 18. B 19. G 20. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Lin Yue took a deep breath and walked over to Ruby. Her heart was pounding with a mixture of fear and hope. Ruby looked up, surprise flickering across her face, her eyes searching Lin Yue’s with a quiet hope. “I’m sorry,” Lin Yue whispered, her voice trembling slightly, “for not listening.” Ruby’s expression softened, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. Without a word, she reached out and gently touched Lin Yue’s hand — a silent peace offering. That simple gesture, warm and forgiving, melted the ice between them, the two girls silently agreeing to put their differences aside and finish the presentation together. On the presentation day, they stood together before the class. Ruby kicked things off with a lively quiz that got everyone laughing, while Lin Yue followed with clear explanations that tied everything together. They took turns naturally — Ruby’s playful questions setting up Lin Yue’s thoughtful answers, and Lin Yue’s solid facts giving Ruby’s jokes a place to land. Their contrasting styles, once a battlefield, now wove into something beautiful. As applause filled the room, they exchanged a knowing smile. Differences hadn’t disappeared — but friendship, they realized, wasn’t about erasing them. It was about making room for them to shine. 词汇激活 行为类 ①低声说:whisper/murmur/utter softly ②颤抖:tremble/quiver ③完成:finish/complete/accomplish 情绪类 ①宽容的:forgiving/merciful/understanding ②会心一笑:a knowing smile/a mutual smile/a smile of understanding 【点睛】[高分句型 1] Ruby looked up, surprise flickering across her face, her eyes searching Lin Yue’s with a quiet hope.(运用两个独立主格结构作伴随状语) [高分句型 2] Ruby kicked things off with a lively quiz that got everyone laughing, while Lin Yue followed with clear explanations that tied everything together.(运用两个that引导的定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
