Have students share what they know about the deep sea. 2. Ask students to complete the sentences with the information from the picture. The teacher can explain the meaning of each item in advance. Present the pictures of the Chinese vessel Fendouzhe and the Titanic. Provide some related background information. 3.Check the answers with the whole class. If necessary, add more related details and information about the deep sea. While-listening 2b 1. Have students read the instruction and understand the background information. 2. Ask students to read the topics and predict what may be discussed. 3. Have students listen to the conversation and tick. 4.Check the answers with the whole class. 2c 1. Ask students to read the sentences in 2c and try to fill in the blanks from memory. 2. Play the recording again and have students complete the sentences. 3. Invite some students to share their answers and then check answers with the whole class. 4. Have students listen again with the completed information.. Post-listening Further Thinking 1. Have students read the listening scripts and discuss some related questions in pairs. 2. Invite some pairs to share their answers.
