1. Have students share what they know about the deep sea.
2. Ask students to complete the sentences with the information from the picture. The teacher
can explain the meaning of each item in advance. Present the pictures of the Chinese vessel
Fendouzhe and the Titanic. Provide some related background information.

about the deep sea.

Teaching Reflection
This lesson effectively introduced deep-sea exploration through visual aids and videos, which sparked students' interest. The lead-in activity of arranging ocean layers helped build a good foundation. However, some struggled with depth-related terms, needing more simple examples.
Next time,I'll prepare more vocabulary support and encourage shy students with sentence frames to boost participation.
