第三课时Grammar Focus(3a-3d) 1、 Teaching Objectives In this class,students will: 1. ask questions using wh-questions. 2. answer questions and provide reasons by connecting two sentences with because, 3. know the rules of plural nouns. 2、 Teaching Advice Lead-in Ask students to talk about the animals they like or dislike with a partner using the uh-questions. The teacher can give some examples as prompts: · What's your favourite animal? · What animals don't you like? · Where are... from? · What do they eat? Explore the Grammar 3a 1. Ask students to read the sentences in the table and think about the question:When do we use what ,where and why?(区别见优翼配套教学课件) 2. Ask students to circle the word that introduces a reason. 3.Check the answers with the students and introduce the usage of “because”. · because 意为“因为”,后面接原因状语从句,回答why问句时,只能用because,不能用 for 或as。 · 汉语中我们经常说“因为……所以……”,但在英文中有了because就不能再用so。 · because of 是复合介词,后面常接名词、代词、动名词,because of后面不能接句子。 Grammar Rules 3b 1. Have students complete the conversation with the words in the box. 2.Check the answers with the students. 3. Ask them to underline the animal nouns and answer the question:Are the animal words in the conversation in singular or plural forms? · 名词的单复数 1.单数可数名词 在英语中,如果要表示一本书、一只狗、一个苹果等概念时,要用名词的单数形式。表示 名词的单数,要在名词前面加不定冠词a或an。a加在发音以辅音音素开头的名词前, 如 a book,a pen,a university。an加在发音以元音音素开头的名词前,如an egg,an elephant,an hour. 2.复数可数名词 在英语中,如果要表示两本书、三个学生这些两个或两个以上的概念时,要用名词的复数 形式。名词的复数形式是在单数名词后加上“-s”或“-es”构成的。 · 名词复数的规则变化 1.在一般情况下,词尾加-s,在清辅音后读/s/,在浊辅音、元音及其他一些情况后读/z/。 如:book一books cup-cups student-students 2.以 s,x,sh,ch结尾的词,词尾加-es,读/Iz/。 如:bus-buses box-boxes dish-dishes 3. 以f或fe结尾的词,先将f或fe变成v,再加-es,读/vz/。 如:shelf一shelves leaf-leaves life-lives 4.以o结尾的词,有生命的加-es,无生命的加-s,读/z/。 如:hero一heroes potato-potatoes piano-pianos 5.以辅音字母加y结尾的词,先将y改为i再加-es,读/Iz/;以元音字母加y结尾的词,直接 加-s。 如:baby一babiescity-cities day-days boy-boys · 名词复数的不规则变化 1.元音发生变化。如:man-men tooth-teeth 2.单复数同形。如:sheep一sheep deer-deer 3.词尾发生变化。如:ox一oxenchild-children 4.有些名词只有复数形式。如:clothes trousers Grammar Exercises 3c 1. Have students read the words in the box and make the nouns in the box plural. Then use the plural nouns to complete the sentences. 2.Check the answers with the students. 3d 1. Let each student think of an animal. Ask them to ask and answer questions with a partner to guess each other's animal. 2. Invite some pairs to perform their conversations in front of the class. Summary Ask students to summarize what they have learned in this lesson. Homework Finish the related exercises in the books produced by Youyi. Blackboard Design Write some important grammar rules on the blackboard. Teaching Reflection In this lesson,we focused on wh-questions,using “because”to connectsentences, and plural noun rules, and students mainly learned these points through pair discussions and grammar exercises. A small number of students still struggled with irregular plural nouns, so they needed more one-on-one guidance.
