该初中英语课件围绕“自然奇观”主题,聚焦Unit 4 Section A(1a-2d)核心词汇(如deep, protect)、句型(如“the depth of...”“one of the largest...”)

One of the world's most mysterious natural wonders is located in the middle of the Sahara Desert. It is called the “Eye of the Sahara” or more formally, the Richat Structure(理查特结构).Unlike famous mountains or canyons, this wonder is so huge that it is best seen from space! It has a diameter(直径) of about 50 kilometers, making it one of the largest and most unique geological formations on Earth.

For a long time, scientists were puzzled by its perfect circular shape. They first thought it was a crater(弧坑) made by a meteorite(陨石) impact. However, after further study, they now believe it was formed by the uplifting of rock layers and then worn down by erosion(腐蚀) over millions of years. The different colours and shapes we see are various types of rock layers, creating a beautiful, giant bull's-eye(靶心) in the desert.
Despite its remote location, the Eye of the Sahara attracts adventurous tourists and scientists. It stands as a powerful reminder of our planet's ancient history and the incredible forces of nature that shape our world.#3
