根据“a typical busy noon”以及“grab a quick meal”可知,在忙碌的中午,人们是匆忙地吃饭,rushing“匆忙,冲”符合语境。
根据“when I finally reached the front of the line”可知,排到队伍前面后拿到的是自己点的餐,order“点餐,订单”符合。
根据“Their uniforms were heavy with burnt dots”可知,制服上有烧焦的斑点,说明他们刚从有烟的着火房子里出来,smoky“多烟的,冒烟的”符合。
根据“No hesitation. They just grabbed their helmets (头盔) and rushed toward the door.”
根据上文“I finally reached the front of the line”可知,“我”之前在排队,现在让餐给消防员后又回到了队伍里,line“队伍”符合。
根据“Kindness like that shouldn’t go unrewarded.”

Nowadays, many young people are busy with their work, and they don’t have time to shop every day. They often buy enough food for at least a week. But eating food not kept correctly could make you sick. The fridge may be a perfect choice for keeping food safe and fresh, but it’s not a magic box to keep all kinds of food. Follow these tips and learn how to store food correctly in your fridge.
The temperature in the fresh-keeping area can be different in different shelves. Generally speaking, the higher the shelf is, the higher the temperature will be. So use these different temperatures to keep your food on the right shelf. Try to put ready-to-eat food like hamburgers, pizza or cream cakes on top shelves. The middle shelves are the most suitable for dairy products (乳制品) such as cheese, butter and yogurt. Bottom shelves are the coldest part of the fridge, making them perfect for keeping raw (生的) meat and seafood. Some fridges have a freezer (冷冻室) for keeping these things, so of course make use of that if you have one.
Keeping food in the fridge does not kill bacteria (细菌) but it can stop the bacteria from growing fast. Bacteria can grow quickly in temperatures between 5℃ and 60℃. This is the Temperature Danger Zone. If you want to get the most out of your food, the temperature in the fresh-keeping area needs to be between 0℃ and 5℃. The freezer temperature should be below-18℃.
Everyone should pay attention to food safety. Hope these tips can help you keep your food fresh as long as possible.

Snow forests make up about 30% of the world’s total forest areas. These wonderful woodlands are not as famous as the Amazon rainforests, but they are just as important.
Snow forests are found in the far north of the world, in areas that are quite cold and usually have a lot of snowfall. They lie across parts of Canada, China, Finland, Japan, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the US. Snow forests have very cold winters that can last up to six months. But even so, they are home to many kinds of animals, including foxes, mice and wolves. In the US and Canada, as many as five billion birds from more than 300 species live in the forests in the breeding (繁殖) season.
These woodlands perform an important job: helping to take in harmful gases. The gases are given off by burning coal, oil and gas, which can cause climate change. However, snow forests are facing several problems. Trees are being cut down faster and faster for their wood, which can be used for building. Some forests are being cleared to make space for new roads and houses, or to allow coal and gas industries to grow. What’s worse, as the world gets warmer, Canada and Russia have seen terrible fires spread through the forests.
Luckily, environmental and wildlife groups around the world are working hard to protect snow forests. This means that cutting down trees is controlled in some areas and the forests are seen as areas of special scientific interest. When wood is needed, replanting plans and careful forest management help to reduce the human influence so that the forests are managed in a way that they can survive and regrow.
26. Where are snow forests mainly found?
A. In South America. B. In the north of the earth. C. In the UK and Canada.
27. What do we know about snow forests from this passage?
A. They are important to many animals and birds.
B. They are famous just like rainforests.
C. They produce best wood for building.
28. What mainly causes snow forests to be in danger?
A. Heavy snowfall. B. Air pollution. C. Human activities.
29. What’s the purpose of this passage?
A. To call on us to protect snow forests.
B. To invite people to visit snow forests.
C. To compare rainforests to snow forests.
30. What does the writer think of snow forests’ future?
A. Hopeful. B. Awful. C. Doubtful.
26. B 27. A 28. C 29. A 30. A

Sometimes animals are so badly injured that common medicine cannot help them. However, animal lovers can still come to save them. In Brazil, a group of them use their knowledge of medicine and computer technology to create man-made body parts for those injured animals.
The technology is called three-dimensional (3D) printing, which can create all kinds of objects from a cup to a toy truck. It takes a lot of plastic. Now, a Canadian company has solved this problem. It has invented the ProtoCycler, which can turn waste plastic, such as bottles, into plastic that can be used in a 3D printer.
Last year, the Brazil team used 3D printing to help a poor tortoise (陆龟), Freddy. A forest fire had burned 85% of her shell, the hardest part of her back. In other words, her shell was nearly gone. The whole team worked together to give her another chance at life.
First, they took photos of Freddy and of a healthy tortoise with a complete shell. Then, they used a computer program to design a new shell that would fit her exactly. A 3D printer created the new plastic shell. After that, the finished shell was attached to (贴附于) Freddy’s body. The new shell fit well, but the white plastic did not have a natural look. Later, an artist painted the shell so that it looked like a real one. The results were very fantastic. Freddy now lives with the people who helped save her life.
31. What do we know about the ProtoCycler?
A. It makes waste plastic useful. B. It takes a lot of plastic. C. It is a new 3D printer.
32. What brought the Brazil team together?

B“I overslept and was late for school.”(我睡过头了,上学迟到了。) What made you so late?”,符合语境逻辑。
C“It didn’t ring this morning.”(它今天早上没响。)是对“something wrong”的具体解释,与后文“That’s too bad.”

上文Mary提出建议“Why don’t you take a taxi then?”,Tom需要回应这个建议。根据下文“But when I was running, I tripped and fell.” D“I forgot to take some money.”(我忘了带钱。)
F“Did you see the school doctor?”(你去看校医了吗?)

As winter comes, hands can easily get cold. Thick gloves might be a good choice, but sometimes wearing them is inconvenient. However, this was not a problem for ancient Chinese people, who had a fine tool to warm their hands: hand warmers.
There is one folk story about its invention. Emperor Yang from the Sui Dynasty visited Jiangsu in winter. Because of the cold, a local official asked craftsmen (工匠人) to make a small warmer for the emperor that could be held in his hands. So, the hand warmer was created.
By the Song Dynasty, the warmers had become popular among the common people. Skills for producing the tool were widely used in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Many poets from this period kept a record of people using hand warmers.
In the early days, copper (铜) was generally used in the production process. It was more suitable than silver, iron and porcelain because it could transfer (传导) heat better, while reducing the risk of breakage or corrosion (腐蚀). Inside a hand warmer, there were coals, some of which were mixed with flowers, giving off a nice smell when burned.
Ancient hand warmers had different designs. Round, square and octagonal shapes were typical, and there were also some fashioned shapes which looked like pumpkins, flowers and turtle shells. The patterns on the warmers would usually be animals or symbols with good meanings, such as deer, flowers or the Chinese characters for long life.

A. To call on us to protect snow forests.
B. To invite people to visit snow forests.
C. To compare rainforests to snow forests.
30. What does the writer think of snow forests’ future?
A. Hopeful. B. Awful. C. Doubtful.
