gave out“分发、耗尽”、gave away“赠送、泄露”、gave in“屈服”均不准确。
has warned“警告了”、has hurt“伤害了”、has learned“学到了”主语应是“人”而非“故事”,故排除。

Root Carving: A Special Art
Root carving (根雕) is a special traditional art in China with a long history. It uses natural tree roots to create beautiful artworks. The art mixes the natural beauty and human creativity. Different from other carvings, root carvers need to follow an important rule: “30% human work, 70% nature.” This means they must make full use of the natural shape of tree roots.
In the small villages of Chuxiong, Yunnan Province, root carvers have been closely connected with tree roots since childhood. Every fine tree root is considered as a treasure by the root carvers. It is very hard to find fine tree root materials, so the root carvers will even search for them in the dark caves (山洞). If they are lucky enough to find a fine tree root, the root carvers can be happy for a whole day.
Creating root carving works is not easy. First, root carvers need to choose the right root. Then they design what to carve based on the root’s shape. After that, they carefully carve it. Finally, they color the creation to make it bright and beautiful.
There are different kinds of root carvings. For example, some are practical (实用的), like chairs and desks. Some are decorative (装饰性的), like animal or flower shapes. Some people like to collect these root carvings because each one is special.
Root carving is not only an art form but also the Chinese wisdom in balancing nature and creativity. Today, people are becoming even more interested in this wonderful art than before. It is really important to keep this tradition alive.
19. What makes root carving different from other carvings?
A. It uses only natural materials. B. It uses different tools for carving.
C. It uses brighter colors on carving works. D. It respects the natural shape of materials more.
20. What is introduced in Paragraph 3 about the root carving?
A. Its colors. B. Its steps. C. Its tools. D. Its values.
21. How does the writer develop Paragraph 4?
A. By giving examples. B. By telling a story.
C. By making a survey. D. By asking a question.
22. Which of the following shows the structure (结构) of the passage?
A. ①/②③④⑤ B. ①②③④/⑤ C. ①/②③④/⑤ D. ①/②/③/④/⑤
D 20. B 21. A 22. C
根据第一段中“Different from other carvings, root carvers need to follow an important rule: ‘30% human work, 70% nature.’ This means they must make full use of the natural shape of tree roots.”
第三段中“First, root carvers need to choose the right root. Then they design what to carve based on the root’s shape. After that, they carefully carve it. Finally, they color the creation to make it bright and beautiful.”通过“First... Then... After that... Finally...”
第四段中“For example, some are practical, like chairs and desks. Some are decorative, like animal or flower shapes.”

Imagine fish living in space like astronauts. In fact, four fish did this in 2024. The fish not only completed their tasks but also became friends with the astronauts and won their hearts.
On April 25, 2024, four zebrafish (斑马鱼) were taken on the Shenzhou XVIII manned spaceship to China’s space station Tiangong. Since then, they have lived in a closed fish tank (缸) with some plants for 43 days.
It was the first time that fish had lived for such a long period in a closed aquatic ecosystem In this ecosystem, the plants produced O₂ for the fish to live, and the fish’s waste gave the plants food to grow. This is important for future studies in space. It means that animals and plants can live in space more simply and easily.
At the station, astronauts fed the zebrafish and watched them swim in interesting ways. “They appeared not to be moving and stayed where they were in the water for a long time. After several days, we found them more active, and they seemed to be in good control of their movements. The fish also needed some time to get used to the space environment”, said Li Guangsu, one of the astronauts on the Shenzhou XVIII manned spaceship. According to Li, the fish often swam on their backs. The low gravity (低重力) in space is a big reason.
Sending zebrafish into space helps lay a scientific base for the future research on aquatic biology and life medicine in space. It also can provide scientific support for long term human stays in space. This zebrafish space experiment also tells us that science can bring more surprises to our daily lives—maybe one day we’ll see more space tech help our lives get better.
23. How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage in Paragraph 1?
A. By listing a fact. B. By making a survey.
C. By asking a question. D. By giving an example.
24. How long did the zebrafish live in space according to the passage?
A. For 25 days. B. For 34 days. C. For 43 days. D. For 52 days.
25. What can we know from Li Guangsu’s words?
A. The fish needed time to get used to space.
B. The fish were fed by astronauts twice a day.
C. The fish couldn’t control their movements in space.
D. The fish always stayed in the same position in space.
26. What is the passage mainly about?
A. How plants grow in a closed aquatic ecosystem.
B. A story about zebrafish learning to swim in space.
C. How astronauts become friends with fish in space.
D. A space experiment with zebrafish and its importance.
A 24. C 25. A 26. D

例文
Good afternoon, everyone! My family and I do small things to improve the environment.
We choose green ways to go out. I often ride a bike or walk to school, and my parents take the bus to work instead of driving a car. We also try our best to save resources. We always turn off the lights when leaving a room and save water in our daily life. Besides, we recycle waste paper, bottles and other things properly. What’s more, we plant some small plants at home to make the air fresher.
These simple actions are helpful. I believe if everyone takes action, our world will become better and better.
That’s all. Thanks for listening!

A. ①/②③④⑤ B. ①②③④/⑤ C. ①/②③④/⑤ D. ①/②/③/④/⑤
