Eating a lot of red and processed meats has been linked to a higher risk of
certain cancers, like stomach cancer, mainly because harmful chemicals can form
when these meats are cooked at high temperatures or heavily processed. These
chemicals, called mutagens, aren't found in raw meat but are created during
grilling,frying,or smoking.
英语试题第6页(共14页)
According to large study group analysis and systematic reviews, cancer risk,
particularly colorectal cancer, begins to increase when red meat intake exceeds
about 350-500 grams of cooked weight per week. That's roughly three to four
servings per week.Beyond this,the risk rises in a dose-dependent way.For
example,an analysis found that for every additional 100 grams of red meat per day,
colorectal cancer risk increased by about 12%-17%.For processed meat, the
evidence is even stronger and more consistent.Processed meats-like bacon,
sausages, ham, and cured meats-were classified by the World Cancer Research
Fund as Group 1 carcinogens, meaning there is sufficient evidence that they cause
cancer in humans.
Lab-grown meat is produced from animal cells and is not the same as salt-cured
processed meat. There's no long-term human data yet,so any risk would depend on
how it's made and cooked, with lower exposure expected if no heavy processing is
applied and high-temperature roasting is minimised.Lab-grown meat is indeed made
by quickly growing animal cells in a controlled environment, but not by using
cancer cells. The cells used are normal animal stem cells, which are grown and
differentiated into muscle and fat cells, being carefully monitored to ensure they
grow safely and do not become abnormal or cancerous.
Some people worry about safety because the cells multiply quickly, but this is
completely natural;it's the same way stem cells grow and repair tissue in animals.
The process is closely monitored to ensure the cells remain healthy and normal. In
fact,lab-grown meat avoids some of the health risks linked to traditional meat, such
as bacteria from slaughterhouses and harmful chemicals from processing.
28.What can we infer about "mutagens"from paragraph 1?
A.They're substances leading to cancer.
B.They exist only at lower temperatures.
C.They commonly exist in raw meats.
D.They're substances often used in cooking.
英语试题第7页(共14页)
29.How much cooked red meat intake is considered safe generally?
A.100 grams or below daily.
B.Below 50-70 grams daily.
C.550 grams or below weekly.
D.Between 150-170 grams daily.
30.What does the third paragraph aim to indicate?
A.The safety of lab-grown meat.
B.The proper way of cooking meat.
C.The significance of stem cells.
D.The potential of killing cancer cells.
31.What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.How Is Lab-Grown Meat Made?
B.Why Red Meat May Cause Cancer?
C.Red Meat Lab-Grown Meat:What to Know
D.Reducing Risk:Red Meat Processed Meat

A humanoid robot's ability to interact effectively relies on its capacity to
recognize,imitate(),and respond to human social signals.For instance,a
study found that humanoid robots can enhance teamwork by displaying a happy
face and making appropriate gaze shifts toward humans, compared to displaying a
sad face and making inappropriate gaze shifts, which leads to improved
performance in collaborative tasks.Similarly, when humanoid robots imitate
facial expressions, they foster stronger social bonding between humans and
robots.Additionally, research shows that people are more likely to follow a
robot's guidance when it speaks in a natural human voice rather than a mechanical
one.
Research on robot personality features has found that people perform better in
collaborative tasks when the robot's personality aligns with their own.In a
memory game, people made fewer errors when interacting with a robot that
mirrored their personality features and responded more positively to robots that
matched their social style. However, when paired with another human
collaborator in the same game, people performed better when their personalities
英语试题第8页(共14页)
were opposite rather than similar. This difference is attributed to the way humans
perceive personality differences between each other, which tends to create more
engaging interactions,leading to better performance.In contrast,when
interacting with a robot, people interpret it as a high-tech device and prefer robots
that behave similarly to themselves,as this is seen as safer and easier to control,
allowing them to focus more on the task.
Beyond daily assistance, robots could play a transformative role in education
and mental well-being.For example, robots can detect when a learner is
struggling and adjust their instructional style accordingly. In well-being
applications, social robots have been shown to reduce anxiety by offering
companionship and emotional support, particularly in vulnerable populations such
as children and the elderly.Additionally, humanoid robots have demonstrated
effectiveness as teaching assistants for autistic (children, helping them
develop social interaction skills.
As robotic technology evolves,we may see robots not only as assistants but
as empathetic partners in education, therapy, and social care.
32.What kind of robot expressions can improve teamwork?
A.A calm face and no gaze shifts
B.A sad face and improper gaze shifts.
C.An emotionless face and direct gazes.
D.A joyful face and appropriate gaze shifts.
33.Which can best replace the underlined part "aligns with"in paragraph 2?
A.Counts on.
B.Compares with.
C.Departs from.
D.Corresponds to.
34.What actually happened in the human-robot game tasks?
A.People tended to view robots as social equals.
B.Robots failed to make genuine emotional responses.
C.Control and predictability enhanced human task focus.
D.Similar personalities successfully prevented communication errors.
英语试题第9页(共14页)
35.What's an advantage of robots in education according to the text?
A.Long-term full engagement
B.Suitable educational strategies
C.Detecting risks in advance.
D.Providing translation tools.

The violin's roots can be traced back to Renaissance Italy in the 1500s,
where it emerged from earlier string instruments like the rebec and the viola da
gamba.These instruments,while simple,laid the foundation for the violin's
eventual form.
36.During this time, some of the world's most renowned violin
makers-Antonio Stradivari,Giuseppe Guarneri,and Nicolo Amati-perfected
their iconic violin designs.Their violins are still celebrated today for their
unmatched craftsmanship and legendary sounds.37.
Antonio Stradivari,in particular,is often regarded as the peak of violin
making.His instruments,known as Stradivarius violins,are much prized
possessions of musicians.38.These violins are not only masterpieces of art
but also produce a sound that's rich, warm, and full of life-a sound that still
captures the imagination of musicians and music lovers.
As the violin itself evolved,so too did the way it was played. In the late
1700s,French bow (maker Frangois Tourte introduced the modern bow,
which allowed violinists to play with greater expression and precision.39,
opening the door to new techniques and sounds.
The 19th century saw the rise of skilled violinists like Niccolo Paganini, who
became a household name for his extraordinary skill.Paganini's ability to perform
feats of technical brilliance inspired violinists around the world to push the limits
of what was possible on the violin. His influence continues to motivate musicians
today.
In today's world, the violin is as relevant as ever.It graces concert halls,
orchestras,and solo performances around the globe.40.Whether you're a
