Many students now use AI tools to search for information quickly or practice English speaking, which makes learning more efficient and creative. However, there are risks. If we depend on it too much, we may become lazy and think less. It could also affect our health if we spend too much time on devices. In my opinion, we should use AI as a helpful tool but not depend on it completely. B Scientists are working to improve finding cancer by mixing the strong sense of smell in dogs with computer help (AI). This mix has helped to make the results better and could lead to better treatment for patients. Each year, over 1.7 million new cancer cases (案例) are found in the U.S. Doctors say early finding is important because it improves the chances of getting better. Researchers are trying to make testing for cancer easier, faster, and more convenient. Dogs have an amazing sense of smell, which is much better than humans’. They have already been trained to find diseases like diabetes (糖尿病) and cancer. For this study, scientists trained six Labrador dogs for six months to find four types of cancer. The dogs were asked to sit down if they smelled cancer or move on if they don’t. To improve the system, the team created an AI model called LUCID to read the dogs’ body language and actions as they smell. Together, the dog-AI team correctly found 245 out of 261 cancer cases, with a 94% success rate. Scientists now are working on developing the at-home test. They hope it will allow patients only to breathe into a special mask that collects a sample (样本) and then send it to be tested by the dogs and AI. Researchers will continue testing the technology using trained dogs. 19.What is the main purpose of the research with dogs and AI? A.To help find out what causes the cancer. B.To take the place of doctors with AI technology. C.To create a new type of dog for testing cancer. D.To find cancer easily, quickly and conveniently. 20.How can dogs help in the cancer finding process? A.Dogs can use their strong sense of smell to find cancer. D.Dogs can make a lot of noise when they smell cancer. 21.Why does the writer use the numbers in Paragraph 4? A.To show the high number of cancer cases found. B.To stress the success rate of the dog-AI system. C.To explain the number of dogs used in the study. D.To introduce how many people benefiting from it. 22.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 5 refer to? A.The dogs’ sense of smell. B.The AI system. C.The at-home tests. D.The sample. C There’s a long list of unpleasant things about flying on planes, like waiting in line and sitting in the middle seat. And here’s another one that troubles a lot or us: getting blocked (堵住的) ears. It’s also sometimes called “airplane ear”. But why do we get it? It happens because of changes in air pressure. When a plane takes off and moves higher, the air pressure outside our ears goes down quickly because the air is thinner at higher places. However, there is still air from ground level inside our ears. This air is thicker and at a higher pressure. So there is a difference in pressure between the air inside our ears and outside our ears. Air pressure changes can make the air in our ears push on the eardrum (耳膜). This happens because air moves from high-pressure areas to low-pressure ones. The pressure makes our ears feel blocked. When the air comes out, our ears “pop” and feel normal again. So how to deal with it? Drinking water, swallowing (吞咽) or eating hard sweets can help to clear our ears. The air inside our ears is in the eustachian tube (咽鼓管), which connects the middle ear to the back of the nose and throat. Swallowing helps encourage this tube to open a little wider, which helps let out the air inside our ears. However, swallowing don’t always work. Our ears sometimes stay blocked for longer, which may hurt. If your ears take a really long time to clear even when you get off the plane, you may need to see a doctor. 23.What causes the feeling of blocked ears during a flight? A.The loud sound from the airplane. B.Air pressure changes around the ears. C.Too much water drunk before flying. D.The low temperature inside the airplane. 24.What is the correct order of how airplane ear happens? a. The eardrum is pushed by the higher-pressure air inside the ear. b. The air pressure outside the ear drops as the plane climbs. c. The ears feel blocked until the air inside is let out. d. There is a difference in pressure between the inside and outside of the ear. A.b→d→a→c B.b→d→c→a C.a→c→b→d D.a→c→d→b 25.Why does swallowing help unblock ears? A.It helps cool down the eardrum faster. B.It helps raise the air pressure in the ears. C.It helps lower the noise inside the airplane. D.It helps open the eustachian tube to let out the air. 26.What is the main purpose of this passage? A.To advise people to avoid taking planes B.To introduce the structure of the human ears. C.To list problems people may have when flying. D.To explain the causes and solutions of airplane ear. D ①In our fast-changing world, social customs are not staying the same. What people are supposed to do in different situations has been evolving (演变). This is especially clear in greetings, which are the first step in social communication. ②Traditionally, customs were quite strict. In many Western cultures like the United States, people used to be supposed to shake hands in formal meetings. For friends, a simple “hello” was often enough. In China, the rules were different. People, especially the younger ones, were supposed to show clear respect to the elders. They would often nod slightly or bow their heads a little. Physical touch was less common than in the West. ③However, things are changing quickly. Nowadays, the handshake is still common in the West for business, but among friends, hugs are often acceptable. In modern China, while respectful nods are still polite, handshakes have become very common in cities and workplaces. Young people usually use casual “Hi” or “Hello” in daily life. ④The most noticeable change among young people is the rise of the “fist bump (碰拳).” It is now seen as a cool, quick, and friendly greeting among teenagers worldwide. It is less formal than a handshake and helps people feel connected quickly. ______ ⑤Why are these changes happening? People’s lives are busier and faster, so greetings have become quicker. The old strict rules sometimes feel too slow or formal for today’s lifestyle. The key point now is not just following one strict rule, but showing respect makes everyone feel comfortable. ⑥It is important to understand the changes in today’s modern, connected world. Therefore, let’s keep an open mind and never stop learning. 27.What were younger people in China traditionally supposed to do when greeting the elders? A.Shake hands. B.Give a big hug. C.Nod or bow. D.Use a fist bump. 28.Which sentence can be put in the ________? A.Another new custom is the “elbow bump,” which has become popular during global health problems. B.Some people still think the old ways of greeting are the best and show more respect to others. C.Some health experts suggest we should all stop using handshakes in the future to prevent illness. D.Bowing is still common in many Japanese offices, where it is seen as an important business manner. 29.What’s the best title for the passage? A.The History of Handshakes B.Changes in Greeting Customs C.The Popularity of Greetings D.Different Cultures, Different Greetings 30.What’s the best structure of this passage? My hero is Yang Zhenning, one of the greatest physicists in the world. 根据“It happens because of changes in air pressure.” 根据“When a plane takes off and moves higher, the air pressure outside our ears goes down quickly because the air is thinner at higher places…The pressure makes our ears feel blocked. When the air comes out, our ears “pop” and feel normal again.” 故选A。 25. 根据“Swallowing helps encourage this tube to open a little wider, which helps let out the air inside our ears.” D。 D ①In our fast-changing world, social customs are not staying the same. So why do children still seem to learn languages more quickly than the rest of us? It’s because of the way they learn. Children can learn languages by doing what comes 68 (natural)—they listen, copy, and communicate. Let’s take a close look at 69 children learn a language. Perhaps we can make the following discovery. AI is playing an important role in our lives. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: AI is playing an important role in our lives. It’s important to think independently and use AI wisely to improve our skills. [亮点词汇] ①play an important role in…在……中发挥重要作用 ②search for information搜索信息 ③depend on依赖 [高分句型] If we depend on it too much, we may become lazy and think less.(if引导的条件状语从句) 2 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
