连系动词
一、 连系动词的定义
连系动词(Linking Verb)本身有一定词义,但不能独立作谓语,必须和表语(形容词、名词、介词短语等)连用,构成“主语 + 连系动词 + 表语”的系表结构,用来说明主语的身份、特征、状态或性质。
二、 连系动词的分类及核心用法
1. 状态类连系动词
用来表示主语的身份、状态或特征,常见词有 be(am, is, are, was, were)。
· 用法:后可接名词、形容词、介词短语、数词等作表语。
· 例句:
1) She is a middle school student.(接名词,表身份)
2) The park was beautiful last spring.(接形容词,表特征)
3) My parents are at home now.(接介词短语,表状态)
2. 感官类连系动词
用来表示主语给人的感官感受,由感官动词转化而来,常见词有 look(看起来)、sound(听起来)、smell(闻起来)、taste(尝起来)、feel(摸起来/感觉)。
· 用法:后只能接形容词作表语,不能接副词。
· 例句:
1) The flowers smell sweet.(√)
2) The flowers smell sweetly.(×)
3) This sweater feels very soft.
3. 变化类连系动词
用来表示主语的状态或性质发生变化,常见词有 become(变得)、get(变得)、turn(变得,多指颜色/性质的自然变化)、grow(渐渐变得)、go(变得,多指向坏的方面变化)。
· 用法:后接形容词作表语。
· 例句:
1) The weather gets colder in autumn.
2) The leaves turn yellow when fall comes.
3) The milk goes bad in the hot sun.
4. 持续类连系动词
用来表示主语的状态持续不变,常见词有 keep(保持)、stay(保持)、remain(仍然是)。
· 用法:后接形容词作表语。
· 例句:

2) The door stays open all day.
