With the development of technology, our city life is becoming more and more “smart”. Here are some great technologies that make our cities “smart”.
Sensors are like eyes in every corner of the city. They can see and feel things by collecting data (数据) on people and the environment.
It is like the blood vessels (血管) of a city, connecting everything to the Internet. Imagine when you are nearly home, and your smart watch can tell your home to turn on the lights. This can become a reality with the Internet of things.
5G provides high-speed wireless Internet. It is what makes the Internet of things possible. The speed of 5G can be up to 10 GB per second. With such a speed, we can download a film in just a few seconds.
AI can also help to deal with data. More importantly, it learns from the data and becomes a smart helper for us. AI can work as a delivery person, a tour guide, or even help design cars and make people's work safer.
Baidu Map and Gaode Map are two typical online maps. They help people find their way from one place to another. Some online maps can update real-time data on cities. With their help, people can find out the busiest road and plan the best route when traveling.
56.Which technology makes a difference to the Internet of things?
A.Sensors. B.5G. C.AI. D.Online maps.
57.What can AI be used for according to the passage?
①Dealing with data. ②Collecting data. ③Working as a tour guide.

An exhibition (展览) named “Civilization of the Qin and Han Dynasties—The First Chinese Emperor’s Terracotta Warriors” opened in Budapest, Hungary. It is one of the most important Chinese culture exhibitions ever held there.
The show includes over 150 ancient artworks from China’s Qin and Han dynasties. Among them are ten actual Terracotta Warriors. Laszlo Baan, director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, said many Hungarians (匈牙利人) still remember the country’s first Terracotta Warriors exhibition in 1988. But this new one is much larger in size and richer in content.
Baan called the exhibition an important event in China-Hungary cultural relations. It will last for six months, giving both Hungarian and international visitors plenty of time to enjoy the treasures. He said it is uncommon to see real Terracotta Warriors outside China. Since many Hungarian s have never been to Xi’an, this show offers them a meaningful cultural experience.
The exhibition also uses new museum technology. For example, a world-first 3D light show made in Hungary displays the first colors of the warriors on life-size copies. This helps visitors imagine how the statues looked over 2,000 years ago.
Baan said that the museum often organizes exhibitions on ancient civilizations. This is both its duty (责任) and something it is proud of. He believes the exhibition will draw several hundred thousand visitors and could become one of the top three most visited shows in the museum’s history.
He also mentioned that the growing number of Chinese people in Hungary may especially like the exhibition, especially those who have not been to the real place in China. Through such cultural exchanges, people in Hungary can better understand Chinese history and art.
59.What can we know about the 1988 Terracotta Warriors exhibition in Hungary?
A.It used 3D light displays. B.It is still open to the public today.
C.It was larger than the new one. D.It left a strong memory for many people.
60.Why does Baan think the exhibition is especially meaningful for Hungarians?
A.Because Hungary has no museums that show Asian art.
B.Because many Hungarians worked on the 1988 exhibition in Budapest.
C.Because the Hungarian government helped bring the warriors to Europe.
D.Because many Hungarians cannot easily travel to Xi’an to see the warriors.
61.What do the last two paragraphs focus on?
A.The museum wants to attract more Chinese visitors.
B.Hungarians plan to build more museums in the future.
C.The exhibition brings pride and helps cultural understanding.
D.The Terracotta Warriors are the most popular exhibit in Europe.

Nao is a small robot that looks like a person. If Nao said, “Please don’t turn me off”, what would you do? Would you listen?
Scientists did a study to see how people treat robots that look and act like humans. 89 people joined the study. They did two simple tasks with Nao to help it learn better social skills.
The tasks were not important. What the scientists really wanted to see was how people acted after the tasks. They asked people to talk with Nao and then turn it off. But this was hard for many people. Some didn’t want to turn Nao off, and others took a long time to do it.
Now people often talk with things like TVs and computers. But robots are more like humans than TVs. Robots can talk like people and look like people. So people thought Nao was like a real person.
For thousands of years, humans were the only ones who could talk with each other. Our brains know how to act when we meet people. But our brains can’t easily tell real people from robots. When Nao shows feelings, people want to treat it like a living thing.
62.What did the scientists want to find out?
A.How fast Nao can do tasks. B.How to make Nao’s face look better.
C.How people treat robots like humans. D.How to make robots live with people.
63.What was the participants’ reaction after being asked to turn Nao off?
A.They found it hard to turn Nao off. B.They said no to Nao.
C.They turned Nao off quickly. D.They said Nao was good at talking.
64.Why did people react this way to Nao?
A.Humans are very creative. B.Humans don’t like robots.
C.Humans like things that don’t move. D.Humans can’t easily tell real people from robots.
65.Where is this text probably from?
A.A book about healthy food. B.A fun science magazine.
C.A newspaper about new phones. D.A book about famous stars.
D
Technology is now an important part of our lives, changing how we work, communicate, and learn. It is difficult to imagine a world without it. Despite (尽管) this, some people believe technology shouldn’t be in museums, which they see as quiet spaces for thinking. However, when used correctly, technology can greatly improve the museum experience.
Technology is also a powerful tool for marketing and education. An eye-catching technological show can attract visitors who might not go to a museum. Once they are there, they can discover the deeper stories behind the exhibits (展品). At the National Museum of Singapore, an interactive (交互式的) show called “Story of the Forest” uses beautiful projections (投影). With a smartphone app, visitors can learn about the lifelike animals in the show. The show is designed as a series of stories that continue the adventure. This makes visitors want to find out what happens next and keeps them interested in learning.
Leading museums all over the world are now using technology creatively. For example, the Prado Museum in Madrid created a 360-degree VR (virtual reality) experience. This allowed people to feel like they were stepping inside famous paintings. The exhibition helped visitors to see the art from the artists’ eyes, which led to a deeper understanding of the background of the works.
What’s more, technology makes culture easy for everyone to reach, including those who can’t visit museums in person. The future trend (趋势) is that museums will be open to everyone, allowing people to get knowledge whenever and wherever they want. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has put high-quality pictures of over 380,000 artworks online for free. Through the Internet, anyone can look through its collection at home.
Finally, technology is not the enemy of culture. Instead, it is a powerful partner. When used smartly, it can bring history and art to life, get more people to visit museums, and make learning more interactive. As one expert noted, the goal is to use technology to make us feel closer to the exhibits, not to replace the real objects.
66.What do we know about the National Museum of Singapore?
A.It makes visitors interested in learning.
B.It just showed art exhibitions themselves.
C.It makes a lot of money through exhibits.
D.It shows the development of projections.
67.The underlined word “replace” in the last paragraph probably means “________”
A.put back B.take the place of C.take over D.change
68.What is the best title for the text?
A.How Technology Is Replacing Museum Exhibits
B.Why Traditional Museums Are Less Attractive
C.How Technology Is Bringing Museums to Life
D.Why Museums Should Improve Visitors’ Experience

①As we all know, “To get rich, build roads first.” A project under the China-led Belt and Road is now bringing hopes across Burera in northern Rwanda (卢旺达). For years, the beautiful scenery of this small area was hidden behind the long bumpy (颠簸的) roads. Today, built together by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and local companies in Rwanda, the smooth 63-km Base-Butaro-Kidaho (BBK) road has changed this situation.
②“In the past, reaching nearby towns was a struggle because of the bad road,” said Seth Havugimana, a 30-year-old businessman from a village in Burera. “Once it took four hours to get to the city, but now it takes only about an hour,” he said. “People can go from here to another place easily and do business. We are very happy about this new road.”
③The road has also made it easier to reach public services. “If someone in my family is sick, it is convenient to take them to the hospital,” Havugimana said. “Also, students can go to school easily. Before, it was hard.”
④The BBK road has changed more than just people’s daily life. It has also helped the economy (经济) of the whole area grow. “Where there is traffic, there are business activities,” said Thierry Kamuhanda, BBK project director. “Gas stations, coffee shops, and other shops and services follow, so there are more local jobs. Tourism will also increase, mainly because the road runs along Lake Burera.”
⑤Jing Niu, the project manager of the BBK project at CRBC, explained that it was not easy to build the first 22-km part. The difficulties included rocky hills, protecting the environment near Lake Burera, managing traffic, and keeping children safe. To solve these problems, the company worked closely with local leaders and communities to give safety lessons and keep the road open.
⑥Bruce Semana, a local worker who joined the project in 2022, spoke about the valuable skills shared by CRBC. “I joined as a young graduate with ideas but no practical skills,” he said. “Everything the workers know now—how to manage teams, work with different people, and work in poor conditions—is learned through the CRBC.”
⑦The last part of the BBK road is now mostly open to traffic, though final works are still in progress. The whole BBK project will be finished by the end of the year. It will continue changing the future of northern Rwanda.
69.How does the author start the passage?
A.By asking a question. B.By using a saying.
C.By putting an advertisement. D.By telling a joke.
70.According to Thierry Kamuhanda, how does BBK project help the development of Burera?
A.More Chinese tourists go travelling in Burera.
B.The project includes many shops and services.
C.New shops are built in order to improve tourism.
D.The road allows new businesses to enter the area.
71.What is the structure of the passage?
A.①/②③/④⑤/⑥⑦ B.①/②③④/⑤⑥/⑦
C.①②/③④⑤/⑥/⑦ D.①②/③④/⑤⑥/⑦
72.What can we infer from the passage?
A.More projects will start in the near future.
B.The poor environment is the only challenge.
C.CRBC helps exchange the technology to the area.
D.Villagers could not see a doctor before the new road.

A.had B.will have C.have had D.are having
【答案】D
【解析】句意:——为什么教室里没人?学生们去哪儿了?——他们正在学校大厅上一门关于环境保护的课程。

④Helping design cars. ⑤Making people healthier.
A.①②⑤ B.②③④ C.①③④ D.③④⑤
58.Which of the following is Not TRUE according to the passage?

【答案】62.C 63.A 64.D 65.B

【答案】66.A 67.B 68.C

70.定位到第④段Thierry Kamuhanda的表述“Where there is traffic, there are business activities... Gas stations, coffee shops, and other shops and services follow, so there are more local jobs.”

Hello, everyone! Today, I’d like to share my opinion on whether kids should keep their rooms tidy.
I support the idea that parents should ask kids to keep their rooms tidy. Firstly, a tidy room helps us develop good habits, which are important for our future life. Secondly, a clean environment makes us feel more comfortable and focused when studying or resting, which can improve our study efficiency and sleep quality. To solve this problem, parents can set clear rules and offer help, while kids should try their best to follow these rules. They can also communicate with each other regularly to adjust the rules properly.
In this way, we can build a happy and organized home together.
